Owensville, Ohio (CNN) - In the second of his two campaign appearances Wednesday, Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan sharpened his critique of President Obama’s handling of the unfolding crises in Egypt and Libya.
“The administration sent mixed signals to those who attacked our embassy in Egypt, and mixed signals to the world,” Ryan told an outdoor crowd in Owensville, Ohio, in the heart of deep red Clermont County. “I want to be clear; it is never too early for the United States to condemn attacks on Americans, on our properties, and to defend our values. That’s what leadership is all about.”

Ryan, reading off notes, said the administration’s policies “project weakness abroad” and segued to a broader offensive against Obama’s foreign policy record.
“Undercutting allies like Israel, outreach to enemies like Iran, national security leaks and devastating defense cuts,” he said. “A weak America breeds insecurity and chaos around the world. The best guarantee of peace is American strength. And peace through strength will be the Romney/Ryan foreign policy of this country.”
Those were tougher words than the ones he delivered in Green Bay earlier in the day, when he referenced the president indirectly.
“It’s important that a president speak with a singular voice representing our principles and our values. We don't want people around the world wondering what our values are,” he said in Wisconsin.
Ryan’s GOP ticket mate, presidential nominee Mitt Romney, harshly criticized the president for not taking a harder line against the mobs that attacked the diplomatic missions in Cairo and Benghazi. In Libya, the violence left four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens dead.
Other Republicans have been reluctant to embrace Romney’s line of attack – and some in the party have even chided Romney for using such heated language against the commander-in-chief in a moment of crisis.
But Ryan’s tough talk Wednesday is yet another sign that the campaign is not backing down from its blunt message.
Ryan was speaking on an outdoor stage surrounded by American flags and nearly 3,000 supporters who showed up to see Romney’s running mate campaign in southwest Ohio – and catch a free concert by country singer John Michael Montgomery.
That’s more than double the number of people who came to see Romney campaign in northeast Ohio on Monday.
Ryan was introduced by the state’s Republican governor, John Kasich, who touted the state’s job gains since 2009 and exclaimed: “Ohio is rocking!”
Kasich also had some words of praise for the political spouses who came to the rally-the wives of Kasich, Ryan and Ohio Sen. Rob Portman. He extolled their domestic skills.
“You know, Jane Portman, Karen Kasich, and Janna Ryan, they operate an awful lot of the time in the shadows,” he said. “It’s not easy to be a spouse of an elected official. You know, they’re at home, doing the laundry and doing so many things while we’re up here on the stage getting applause, right? They don’t often share in it. And it is hard for the spouse to hear the criticism and to put up with the travel schedule and to have to be at home taking care of the kids. And where is the politician? Out on the road.”

Romney and Ryan have international experience, Romney ran an Olympics. ?
They came for the concert not to see Ryan. Ryan has no credentials to talk about foreign policy, none whatsoever. What do these two think they will accomplish by bad mouthing the President on foreign policy when most people already know it's been a huge step up under Obama compared to Bushie. What morons!!!
This comes from a scrub that has no foreign policy experience. Romney and Ryan are made for each other and it will be even sweeter when they lose in November. Lead for Obama will be double digits after the debates.
There he goes again. Romney just cant stop lying. He is getting desperate.
“Undercutting allies like Israel, outreach to enemies like Iran, national security leaks and devastating defense cuts,” Ryan says. Man is everything outof his mouth a lie. First of all there was no meeting with Isreal, second of all Obama has put stronger sanction on Iran than anyother president and finally our defense budget is more than the next 6 countries combined. These Repukes want to add 2 trillion increase in the budget over the next ten years but wont tell american people where they plan to get the money. Pathetic!!!
I appreciate that the President gathers the facts before making judgments and taking action. I also recognized, after Ryan's RNC convention speech, that Ryan doesn't consider facts to be important before making judgments and opening his mouth. Romney jumped on the opportunity to accuse the President of apologizing for the nation, apparently before he actually heard or read the embassy's statement. We do not need a replay of Bush's "shoot from the hip and try to bend the facts to fit later" policies.
Lies, Lies and more Lies from the Romney / Ryan campaign. Their defeat will be celebrated in November.
And Lyin Ryan cant stop lying
Shut up Eddie Munster. Your foreign policy experience is exactly zero and your running mate is flat out lying about the Libya situation.
And the Governor of Ohio is talking up the state's economy so naturally you couldn't repeat your lies about that, huh?
Romney ryan are toast!
Lyan Ryan, move to your homeland Republistan.
This guy needs a lie counter to measure overall number of lies.
And we need a measurement scale as to big the lie is.
Republicans want to cast the election about the economy, but the issue is who do you trust?
Distort the facts, clueless about the facts, don't care about the facts, it is all about getting elected.
Lyan Ryan and all the Bishop's men are desperate so their plan to get elected is to make everyone else desperate.
By just about any means a Republican swiftboat can imagine and execute.
Ryan is continuing the line of absolutely no idea on foreign policy while Kasich tells you all you need to know about how the GOP feels about women in today's society. Seriously . . . "they're at home, doing the laundry . . . taking care of the kids"!!
Get in this CENTURY.
And this clown is a foreign policy expert...how?
Lyin' Ryan is at it again, doubling down on the lies of Mitt Romney. Neither one of them know what they are talking about They could have chosen to stand with America – they chose to stand for themselves. Go back and take a look at what Reagan had to say when Carter attempted the rescue of the hostages held by Iran and the attempt failed and people were killed. What Reagan said was, "We all stand with the president today."
Its unfortunate that republicans lately, particularly Romney and Ryan, respond negatively and critically to the president even when he does something correct. Its unreasonable (and dishonest) to be as negative as they constantly are. They target anything the administration says or does, regardless of the value of the action under discussion. Its intellectually dishonest. No wonder there has been No hope and No change with a party in opposition to Everything except tax cuts to the wealthy.
No compromise, no common ground, no working together for America.
This time Romney stepped in it by reciting the script before he even knew what was going on.
Mittens and Lyin Ryan are scary. Just like GWB, they want to fight first, lose more American soldiiers lives and then try to find the answer. We don't need anymore of the "Shock and Awe"...we need to find out what happened and then go after the guilty parties, not the entire country!!!!
I guest we can ask and understand, what do they have to lose? The Romney and Ryan ticket is a bust. Their supporters are riding outside of the Romney clown car on the roof top locked in a cage of lies. The Romney supporters are so brain washed and full of hate, that they cannot find their way around a broken clock to know when it's time to abandon the Romney and Ryan ship of lies. Neither, Romney or Ryan, have a clue on foreign policy. Not one clue. Their mantra is, just trust us, we will fill you in on the details after we are elected. Too funny!
President Obama on Foreign policy is doing a great job, on MYTH Romney he has no clue about foreign policy he act like a monon, as our President said Romney shoot first then act, his running mate is just as stupid the GOP's like WARS why is it that none of Romney sons not in the Military? Romney it is ok for our kids to go in harms way but not any one of your sons. Shame on you MYTH Romney.
Please God don't let the chaos of Romney/Ryan arrive in the USA. Please good american citizen we need a good GOP ticket for 2016 but R/R are not ready yet nor fit the job. Thanks
Looks like someone threw Romney and Ryan a lifeline.
Here in ohio Romey/Ryan have an add saying that we are not better off than we were four years ago. How is that possible if our govenor is touting the job growth in Ohio. Four years ago we were loosing jobs here. It seems to me that they are talking out of both sides of their mouth.
Lyin' Ryan has no faith in his possibilities of winning the vp slot. He is now spending $2 million on his congressional reelection, more than he has ever spent in the past. He has lost all credibility unless one uses pretzel logic and false equivalencies...
So, Ryan would prefer the GOP's foreign policy. Start a new war every time we disagree with someone.
THe weakness of our Amateur wanna-be president is showing. His world apology tour and participation in the Arab Spring, encourageing rebels we knew nothing about, is coming home to roost. Jimmy Carter showed the world the same weakness and it came home to bite him.
[“The administration sent mixed signals to those who attacked our embassy in Egypt, and mixed signals to the world”]
But yet RobMe and Lyan fail to believe that these people were on the ground and reported what they saw in the swirl
[“...it is never too early for the United States to condemn attacks on Americans...that’s what leadership is all about.”]
Really? What happens if you LIED and everyone took your side then later learn YOU'RE the culprit beyond a doubt!
And judging Paul Lyan and his constant LYING through the grit of his teeth, there must have been many DOUBTS about him in his lifetime!!
