(CNN) – President Barack Obama's fund-raising team, never known for being discreet in email solicitations, used a new name in the "From" field Thursday to ask supporters for money: Beyoncé Knowles.
"I usually don't email you - but I have an amazing invitation I have to share," the email from the singer read, an understatement for most Americans who don't receive emails from platinum-selling recording artists, usually or unusually.

"Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!" the "Single Ladies" singer continued.
On Wednesday CNN confirmed Knowles and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, would host a fund-raiser for Obama in New York City next week. The event is slated to take place at Jay-Z's club "40/40."
The September 18 event will be similar to previous celebrity-hosted Obama fund-raisers, where people who donate to the president's campaign will be entered for a chance to win tickets to the event.
"I've had the honor of meeting President Obama and the First Lady a few times - and believe me - it's an opportunity you don't want to miss," the email from Knowles continued.
The singer signed the note simply "Love, B."

Yeah, honestly, I keep getting unsolicited emails from all sorts of Democrats and keep trying to "unsubscribe" but I can't get them to stop sending them. Believe me, I have tried over and over again to no avail. Now I just delete them before I open them but, sheesh, what a waste of time!

Each day the President moves ahead more in the polls. Romney's latest moronic comment in the midst of a crisis lost a lot of votes for the spoiled chicken-hawk. No doubt Romney has the Koch brother's money. They have strong financial interests associated with his fat-cat agenda. But President Obama is getting the votes from those Americans who don't get 100% of their information from Fox News. Independents are too smart to fall for the right-wing scam.

Love Beyoncé – she deserves better than Obama. We are seeing a replay of the Carter years before our eyes. Yesterday reminded me of the hostage crisis back in the day. Just like Carter, Obama thinks a deferential America would be better respected around the world. He is going to finish his term having disproved his own argument while adopting most of Bush’s anti-terror policies that he campaigned and maligned with fervor. Obama’s weakness has proven to be provocative which is no real surprise.
