You get B's email?

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's fund-raising team, never known for being discreet in email solicitations, used a new name in the "From" field Thursday to ask supporters for money: Beyoncé Knowles.

"I usually don't email you - but I have an amazing invitation I have to share," the email from the singer read, an understatement for most Americans who don't receive emails from platinum-selling recording artists, usually or unusually.

"Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!" the "Single Ladies" singer continued.

On Wednesday CNN confirmed Knowles and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, would host a fund-raiser for Obama in New York City next week. The event is slated to take place at Jay-Z's club "40/40."

The September 18 event will be similar to previous celebrity-hosted Obama fund-raisers, where people who donate to the president's campaign will be entered for a chance to win tickets to the event.

"I've had the honor of meeting President Obama and the First Lady a few times - and believe me - it's an opportunity you don't want to miss," the email from Knowles continued.

The singer signed the note simply "Love, B."

I am an Obama supporter, HOWEVER, I am insulted by the barage of donation solicitations from his campaign headquarters-really? Do you think that I believe that Beyonce' actually emailed me as well as Michelle and everyone else? I replied by telling them I was insulted. I have given $$$ but they continually harass me for more.
Regarding "truth Hurts" you are naive to think that President Obama's camp is the only one asking for $$$–Romney is doing the same with his own circles. As far as thinking you will find "competence" in the whitehouse-think again–you're not going to like the "results" if Romney gets in. Have you read what's all over the news today? Inane remarks about the bombing yesterday-even his own republican party cringed–that's who you are supporting.

Maybe she can donate the money Hannibal Gaddafi paid her for her New Years concert in St. Barts

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

She will – right after the donald donates all the $$$ Muammar Gaddafi paid him for providing lodging and party facilities.

"I've had the honor of meeting President Obama and the First Lady a few times – and believe me – it's an opportunity you don't want to miss," Really, this is the person the President has met with a few times, Yet he doesn't meet with President Netanyahu, you know the President of Israel, you know the country that is in the cross-hair of an Iranian Nuclear Weapon, you know the country that every President has supported OPENLY since the country's establishment. He won't meet with Him because of a scheduling issue but he will make time for this person because they have a check to give him. This President is pathetic.

Its time : BO MUST GO !

Are you referring to the Chicago Teachers' strike? What on earth does that have to do with President Obama, other than the fact that it's happening in his hometown?

At least the Obma Team is upfront about all of this. Compared to the many PACs established to support Romney and GOP candidates which do not list donors at all this is refreshing.

The PACs are taking over and we have no idea who is behind them. There is absolutely no accountability and that does not seem to bother the nominee or the party. Not a good sign for Romney. Just one thing to consider when we vote.

  6. Really?

@Rudy NYC The reason polls are not showing Romney winning by a landslide, yet, is because too many people like you have either not taken time to find out who Romney really is and just believe all the lies the liberal media promote/ too many people just can't grasp the truth/reason. Everyone knows how poor our government schools are; surely that is part of the problem. Romney is extremely loving as PROVEN by years of unpaid service helping others compared to Obama's years of "talking" and now playing golf and partying at tax-payer expense. These are FACTS.

Very pretty but I have no idea who she is but, then again, I'm pushing 70. Now if I'd gotten an email from Lauren Bacall my donation would have quadrupled. Yes, old white guys do vote for Obama.

the unions own obama! they send him hundreds of millions in campaign contributions and thousands of volunteers. his administration has pushed the union agenda to the point of blocking boeing from opening a plant in north carolina. the union leaders are the most frequent visitors to the whitehouse!

isn't it hilarious how the left now wants to distance themselves from the unions now that they are on strike and hurting kids and in a fiscal fight with one of their own democrats, one of obama's close former aides. yes, nothing to see here right?! the press refuses to report the fiscal disaster that unions are causing all around the country with their greedy take, take, take mentality.

if Flip would release his taxes for more than one year (we're still waiting for the other "adjusted"–doctored return), and actually talk about his days at Bain, the Son of Boss issue, and Stericycle, then people will get to know him. Of course he says "I created jobs" and expects people who think for themselves to take it as fact. "We'll get back to you on that" or just flat-out refusing to answer questions shows what a fake he is. The sheep say "I believe you Flip" but in November, the etch-a-sketch man will be riding his car elevator with a big "L" on his forehead

PAYBACK TIME: Ted Nugent will be holding a concert to raise money for Romney. He'll be playing Cat Scratch Fever and he'll explain how he had to poop his pantys to avoid the draft while at the same time Mitt was living in a French mansion to avoid the draft.

If you take the time to find out who Romney really is, all that you come up with is an empty slate. The guy likes to cover his tracks by erasing hard drives and so on. Fortunately, we don't need to do a lot of research on Romney. We have come to know him quite well during his six years of running for POTUS, as he kaleidoscopes himself on issue after issue.

We know who Romney is and what he's capable of. Politics is out of his element. He thinks being Commander-In-Chief is not all that different from being Chairman-In-Chief. He's in the public eye learning the hard way that he is unfit to be POTUS. And if he's not learning it, then I guarantee you that the American voters are learning it.

I want the man whom the GOP decided on the day of his inauguration that they were going to make a one-term president.
I want the man who inspired the largest voter turnout EVER.
I want the man that greedy millionaires and billionaires, and "undisclosed" corporations want out of office so that no one can stand between them geting wealthier at the expense of the poor, the middle class, hell, the country.
I want the man who inspired the coming out party of TEA (Taxed Enough Already OR Treasonous Eejits Against America), even though taxes are the lowest they've been in DECADES.
I want the man who has shown statesmanship, dignity, and honor even when his citizenship, and legitimacy has been repeatedly, disrespectfully, and boorishly questioned by those who could only aspire to achieve a 1/10 of what he has.
I want "THAT ONE" at the helm.
WE want "THAT ONE" back in office. And no amount of sub-rosa plots, insults, voter suppression, attempts at buying the presidency, lies, hate and birthers is going to deter us.
    Obama 2012. Seriously Americans

I wrote that because it is the truth. Pres. Obama should be easy to beat. It's as simple as that. So what does that actually say about Mitt Romney? The grim reality that Mitt Romney is no better than his former colleagues in the Republican primaries is driving the right wing up the wall.

The right wing lacks discipline. They have suppressed change for so long that they've decayed and now the most rotten elements are rising to the top.

Remember old, angry white people (I'm ond and white, hopefully not TOO angry) the Obama campaign is trying to appeal to young people and minorities (and this is backed up by their POLICY) and also the fund raising by the Obama campaign is at the GRASSROOTS level not paid for by Citizen's United enabled BILLIONAIRES as per the Romney campaign. If you didn't like the e-mail, just delete it. I saw it in my in-basket, I donate from time-to-time and delete the vast majority of the e-mails.

Really? You sound as desperate as Romney did yesterday talking out of rear end about things that he knew nothing about and making a total fool out of himself.
Many of us took the time to listen to your boy speak at various forums. We've gotten to know him. There is nothing there.
NOTHING but lies, deception, flip-flopping, and an uncanny inability to connect with anyone but those in his financial stratosphere.
After his incredible faux-pas yesterday Republicans have been left wondering what kind of a mistake did they make in backing this thing for their nominee.
Face it and embrace it and stop grovelling asking folks to "get to know him". We have. And he sucks.

I predict that Romeny will try his best to weasel out of releasing any more returns. It will be his Waterloo. He's dug this hole completely on his own. It would be mistake to release them just before election day, and it would be a mistake to break a promise to release them.....just before election day. Bad judgement, coming and going on this issue, just like so many others.

Interesting that they never mention how much it costs to attend this event. If it's similar to previous fund-raisers, you can pretty much see that the only ones that get to attend are probably not the "middle class" people...you know, the ones that they're supposedly partying...ooops...I mean fighting for. I'm sure Romney will have similar fund raisers too, and yet you all keep throwing money at both sides, thinking that one side or the other will fix all of our problems. Outside of the taxes that I have to pay, neither side will get one more cent from me, ever.
