On campaign trail, Romney ratchets ups God rhetoric

Washington (CNN) - At campaign events these days, Mitt Romney often says that if he is elected president, he will emphasize the role of God in American society and will not “take God out of the public square.”

That kind of rhetoric is a departure from earlier less God-focused versions of the Republican candidate’s stump speech and his early apprehension with discussing his Mormon faith.

"I will not take God off our coins. "

Of course he won't. It was put on our coins in the 1950's as part fo the propaganda against the "godless commies" in the USSR and, as we all know by now, Mittens lives under the delusion that the "soviets" still exist and that anything the GOP/Teatrolls don't like can be demagogued as "socialism" and "communism" in order to rile the conservatives against it.

Oh twit, just because your cull religion thinks "this is their time" that doesn't mean other religions or sane people believe the same. You remember right? Separation od church and state? Look what is going on In the Middle East and Nodth Africa right now thanks to religion and your inflammatory comments against the US and the President. You are unfairly blaming the president for you being an inept twit so I thought I would do the same to you.
As a matter of fact, you tend to hold on to everyone's religion and leave yours on the outside looking in. Why would you NOT want to embrace your own? Ashamed of the magic underwear or that women are second class citizens (like blacks were until 1978?) or that planet Kolob, or your warehouses full of food just formyour flock members?

“When (Republicans) get nervous about a loss, they go into base-whip-up stage,”

    Enter Teatrolls, stage right....

Anyone who doesn't understand that Astroturf Frankenstein was EXACTLY what this man described is living in a convenient psychological-denial fantasyland. Heck, even most of the Teatrolls know it...they just won't admit it because that's not part of the script.

Which God is he referring to? As a Mormon, he believes that anyone can become of "god". Is he referring to himself???

"Did the crowd boo God like they did at the Democrat National Convention?"

Yawn. At Liberty U? Hahahaha. He was preaching to the choire. I'm pretty sure most of them were too busy contemplating how morally superior they are to everyone else to bother to do anything but react as programmed.

Romney is desperate because he is losing. How dare Romney mention God. Romney belongs to a cult that demeans women and believes that black people are one step above animals and are not human. The founder of the Mormons was high on drugs or crazy when he claimed he talked to God in the desert. My vote is not for sell and neither is my soul. I can't believe the so-called christian republicans are backing someone with Romney's beliefs. They are selling their souls because they can't accept President Obama as our President. Romney worships man and money and not God.

I'm sorry, but the GOP/Teatrolls are too busy watching Red Dawn as though it's a documentary.

    -------------

At this point in his campaign even Mitt Romney has no idea what he believes anymore.

Wasn't the Romney campaign saying that the President would run a smear campaign in the fall to distract from his record? Well, it seems they got it half right. Someone is ramping up an ugly smear campaign to distract from his unpopular positions and incompetent bumbling – and it turns out to be Mitt Romney himself.

But it's okay for Bush to fire missiles into unarmed mothers and their children as long as they're non-Christians?

@truth hurts, you are that idiot who has been posting for months under the "hate Obama" monikers huh? That's you huh? Your painfully stupid, vapid, unpatriotic, bordering on treasonous rants are so easily identified.

Anyway, in case you haven't looked around, this country is in the midst of a security threat all over the world. And that twerp of a candidate, Mitt Dumb-ney mouthed off for political reasons and it seems that he's dropped in the polls. Do you know why? Well, its obvious, not every american, not even most americans, are as STUPID AS YOU! Go back to your mom's basement, because this country has no further need of your hateful, disrespectful, unpatriotic faux news idiocy

Just what we need because everyone has a different image of the Divine. This is what started different religions and wars where the religious beliefs didn't allow for anything else. Keep it to policy and plans; just state that you believe in G-d and we can move on.

"seems lefties want to take God out of the public discussion because it makes it easier for them to kill babies and not feel bad about it.'

Nah. Actually, it's eating them that makes you not feel bad about it. Once you train yourself to see babies as food, all that silliness about God and "when does life really begin" just falls by the wayside. Pass the ketchup...

"Why is this delusional belief in the supernatural still considered an asset to candidates in the 21st century???"

Because enough people are kept ignorant, angry and afraid that they won't accept any other explanations for the way the universe works.

I love how cnn sways the situation of the arabs attacking on Romney. Obama backs the "spring awakening" so he lets it go. CNN and several other networks who have lost viewers has to realize the world does not go the socialist way they are. They need to look at Europe in five years.

I really doubt many evangelicals will vote for Latter Day Saint americana made-up religion. They don't even have even have interfaith services. No Christian faith recognizes the book of mormon. I wonder why ??? It is pure fiction that Jesus Christ preached to the American Indians. Latter Days please get educated about your cult. Mark Twain said it best the book of mormon chloroform in print.

"Look what is going on In the Middle East and Nodth Africa right now thanks to religion "

Believe me, the GOP/Teatrolls look at what religion in gov't does in the Middle East with nothing but envy. If they could, and they certainly want to, they'd turn us into the Christian version of Iran before you could say "Jesus H. Christ."

Did I mention the "H" stands for "Hussein"? (ha...that one always gets them going)

Democrats did take God out of the Democratic platform. 3 times Democrats voted to reinstate God and most of us heard the majority say No to reinstating God but it was reinstated against the wishes of the majority. So why did the majority not get their vote acknowledged to remove God? Could it be because it looked bad to take God out??? Democrats are hypocrites and fake.
