Washington (CNN) – Beneath his stiff and sometimes impersonable exterior, Mitt Romney has a heart of gold.
That's according to the testimonial Paul Ryan delivered on Romney's behalf Friday at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, an annual gathering of social conservatives and faith leaders organized by the Family Research Council.

"I'm not the only one who has told Mitt that maybe he needs to talk more about himself and his life," Ryan said, acknowledging a recurring complaint among Republicans that Romney does a poor job of highlighting his personal side. "It wouldn't hurt if voters knew more of those little things that reveal a man's heart and his character."
Ryan spoke about the time Romney suspended operations at Bain Capital in 1996 to marshal support for a search and rescue operation for the missing daughter of an employee.
Romney is "one of those guys who doesn't just exhort and oversee good works, but shows up and does the work," Ryan said.
"Mitt Romney is the type we've all run into in our own communities, the man who's there right away when there's need, but never first in line when praise and credit are being handed out," he said. "He's a modest man with a charitable heart, a doer and a promise-keeper."
"He's the kind of person every community could use more of, and he'll be the kind of president who brings out the best in our country."
The remarks came at the conclusion of an otherwise pointed speech that criticized a litany of President Obama's actions over the last four years.

If Obama could run on his accomplishments, he would. But since he has none he wants to remind the American people of (like Obamacare), his entire campaign strategy is to lie about his opponent. We already know all we need to know about the tax evader who wants to be President. He claims he loves America so much, but he just doesn't invest his money here. Such a patriot that Willard is. The only community he's accustomed to is the 1% community. Have you ever seen him in your neck of the woods? I sure haven't. I'm not too sure if I would want his pompous, arrogant self within 30 feet of me.

Did the Robmey camp advise you what to say? Just like your answers every time the press asks you a question, you don't answer the question. Found out from the vetting process for VP, Robmey asked all of the candidates to supply 10 years of tax returns. Rayn lied in an interview after he was announced, saying that he released the same amount that Robmey did, 2 years, and while he answered it he kept looking at Robmey for confirmation on what he was answering.
That's great. Get the guy who broke the speed limit for lies during a convention speech to vouch for the guy who's attempting to set the record for most lies in a single presidential campaign.
Where are the tax returns, Mitt. You insisted all your VP candidates give you 10 years, but you won't give the American public even two complete years. Give us 10!!!!
I watched this speech and what struck me was Ryan saying he was not apart of the government,(in reference to Obamas speech where he reminded everyone of the one thing we are all a member of, the U.S.) and that he did not recall pledging himself to it. Well I find it hard to believe that growing up in Janesville WI he never said the pledge of allegiance and I seem to recall a piece of paper in the capital that starts off with We the People..

Fine, I get it. He is a great guy. The fact that they need to keep reminding people is what worries me. His actions (overseas accounts, $100M 401k, Bain, 1 year actual taxes) and comments are what make people not sure about him. If you want someone to vouch for his character, choose someone other than Ryan.
Mitt Romney has had a decade to brush up on his character traits. That America isn't buying the BS is his fault, not mine.
I'm going to give Ryan a fail on his "he's the kind of person every community could use more of, and he'll be the kind of president who brings out the best in our country" talking points. These past few days suggest otherwise.

Romney's campaign is over because just pointing out what is wrong with this country but not how to fix and bringing future vision both domestic issue and foreign policy.
