Obama mourns American deaths abroad in weekly address

(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Saturday mourned the week's attacks on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya which killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to the country.

"These four Americans represented the very best of our country," he said in his weekly address, naming Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith, and Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Woods and Doherty were former Navy SEALs, while Smith had served in the Air Force and was a computer expert.

Violence erupted this week in Benghazi and elsewhere in the Arab world - from Morocco to Tehran - based in anger over an inflammatory anti-Islam film. The film was posted online this summer but discussed and aired only recently in portions of the Middle East.

Protesters clashed with police in some cities on Friday, gathering in public squares and outside of embassies.

On Friday, Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at a Transfer of Remains ceremony near Washington, D.C. when bodies of the four were returned to the U.S. Clinton referred to the "awful internet video that we had nothing to do with" and called the violence "senseless and it is totally unacceptable."

In his weekly address, Obama reiterated his message from previous statements, that "those who attack our people will find no escape from justice.

"We will not waver in their pursuit. And we will never allow anyone to shake the resolve of the United States of America," he said.

The president said he and the country "reject the denigration of any religion, including Islam. Yet there is never any justification for violence."

Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney exchanged sharp words in statements and interviews, with Romney saying the Obama Administration "sympathize[d] with those who waged the attacks" and Obama charging Romney "seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later."

While we were mournng and honoring our fallen men yesterday, the republicans were having a religious "family values Obama hate-fest" ON TV. What are those republicans thinking? Oh, THEY AREN'T.

The leaders of those Nations need to be bold to affirm that violence is UNISLAMIC,which it's clearly is.Or is ISLAM a religion of violence?I personally condemn the offensive video,as do other well meaning CHRISTIANS.I read a lot that ISLAM prohibits the shedding of innocent blood, are they being ISLAMIC by praising osama who masterminded the murder of thousands of innocent souls? There seem to be a fundamental flaw in the interpretation of this religion, and those who ought to speak up should not stay silent, and allow a mob to give a wrong meaning of ISLAMIC religion to the rest of the world.

Why is President Obama not defending our nation? By defense I don't necessarily mean force. He is almost completely silent!!! SPEAK OUT MR PRESIDENT. Americans have died. Stand up for the country you claim to love. Show it. Prove it.

Then he should have not been off in Vegas & missing Intel briefings. Maybe then if he was the leader that some claim him to be, he could have look at his cabinet & asked the simple question – what do you think is going to happen – after all it is the 9/11 anniversay, I GOT OBL, the muslim bro is in power, & we know Al Quida wants to do something. It is hard to believe not one of the leaders in that room had enough common sense & forethought to say increase security at American installations. I think Carneys "No actionable Intelligence" really is describing the Prez & his cabinet.

President Obama we mourned with you, our four men lay down their lives for us, yesterday was a very sad day seeing the remains of our fallen men in American soil. While this was happening Romney & Ryan choose to slam and critize our President instead of mourning our loss. SHAME ON YOU ROMNEY & RYAN this shows how hateful and desperate you too are . God bless President Obama for being a strong leader here in America and around the world.

The reasons given for these protests and rioting of our embassies smells "fishy" to me. Surely, by now, word has gotten around that this 14 min. film was created by a few individuals filled with hatred for probably everyone, that it is not what sensible people in the US believe. I believe this is just an excuse to justify the protests, and something else is going on that we obviously don't know. I also think anyone who uses free speech to incite riots in this or other countries should be severely punished. Free speech should be allowed to go only so far, so where are the sensible law-makers?

I personally blame the government and those who pass a bill giving countries that hate us billions of dollars to kill Americans . This action is a broader equalivant of the "fast and furious" action taken by the Justice Dept. The American representative on the Hill give money to counties that out right voice they hate us, and give this money WITHOUT conditions Sadly yet, that this money we give away , is BORROWED money that our grandchildrens, children will have to pay and may even die, becuase of it.

One of Bush's advisors said that the embassies would not be attacked if Mittens were president, because he has resolve. The right wingnuts thought Bush had resolve, and we had 9-11 and 12 attacks on American Embassies under his watch. Even Reagan had resolve, and we lost 300 lives in the Beirut attack of 1983. Only birthers would believe that crap.

Obama doesn't care about American lives get real. In his book he even states that when it gets ugly he will side with the Muslims.

Now that each Democrat is explaining and supporting these guys who killed our ambassador you see that it is not religion that Democrats hate but Christianity. Democrat says that a Muslim chopping someone's head off is equal to a Christian who believes in traditional marriage. It takes a sick, hateful, disgusting person to support the klan starting great society liberal Democrats.
