Christine O'Donnell considering another Senate bid

(CNN) – Christine O'Donnell, the tea party favorite whose unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate in 2010 was punctuated by a television ad proclaiming "I am not a witch," says she's considering another run to represent Delaware in 2014.

"I think I owe that to my supporters, to at least consider a run," O'Donnell told Delaware Online. "People sacrificed. Not only came out of their comfort zone – sacrificed to work hard in order to win the primary. And I think that I owe it to them to give it every consideration."

In 2010, O'Donnell won Delaware's GOP primary contest against nine-term Rep. Mike Castle, who enjoyed backing from the national Republican establishment. She went on to lose by a large margin to the Democratic candidate, now-Sen. Chris Coons.

During the campaign, an interview emerged in which O'Donnell told talk show host Bill Maher that she had "dabbled in witchcraft" during college. Her campaign later produced a television ad in which she proclaimed, "I'm not a witch. I'm nothing you've heard. I'm you."

More recently, O'Donnell backed Mitt Romney early in the GOP presidential primary season, writing in December that she hoped her endorsement would "cause others to give him a second look."

Romney welcomed the endorsement, writing that O'Donnell "recognizes that excessive government threatens us now and threatens future generations."

If O'Donnell does jump into the 2014 Senate race and wins the GOP nomination, she will again face Coons, who will be up for re-election in two years after finishing out the length of Joe Biden's term. Biden was re-elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008, but gave up his seat to serve as vice president beginning in 2009.

We need more intelligent women in Washington but this one isn't the brightest shinning star and like Palin makes women look stupid.

In other words she craves the limelight and her personal ambitions have not be satiated. Can you say "Senator O'Donnell?"

It must be very embarrassing being a registered republican at this time in our country. History will not look kindly on this party.

Something tells me that some day the phrase : "I am not a witch" along with "I am not a crook" will be on the "Jeopardy!" TV game show under the category: "Trust Me, I'm a Republican"

trublue007...That's exactly how she survives. She lives illegally off of campaign donations. She did it at least twice before and they refused to bring charges against her. The only reason she got the nomination for senator is because DE Repubs were asleep at the switch. Mike Castle had been either DE's representative, governor or senator since 1968, and the Repubs just figured he was a foregone conclusion again and didn't bother to vote in the primary. It won't happen again.

She may owe her supporters something (though her entertainment value was probably sufficient for most of us), but I think above all she owes it to the nation NOT to run again. Doesn't she understand that she was rejected by the voters because she was totally unqualified?

She is so yesterday. Saw her on Maher's show last week, and she's the same irrelevant hack regurgitating talking points handed to her by her puppetmasters that she was the last go around.

Thats the beautiful thing about Elections you can see where the simple minded live and who they select to represent them in Washington DC. If O'Donell wins it because a majority voted for her or there were rigged machines.

The die hard republicans will vote republican even if it means they vote against their own self interests. What I hope is that the scales fall from the eyes of the independents and moderates. The republican party Isn't going to try to help the country! No action taken by the party in recent years has been helpful. They are vindictive and just plain mean-spirited, with a childishly stubborn attitude of sabotaging legislation when they don't get their way. These people aren't going to lead us forward! Don't vote for them!
