Voting days are upon us

(CNN) – While Election Day is 50 days out, actual voting in the battleground states begins much sooner with absentee ballot and early in person voting starting as early as this week.

Absentee ballots in Virginia start the earliest becoming available this Friday and early voting begins among the battleground states first in Iowa at the end of the month.

Of the nine states CNN lists as "toss up" on its Electoral Map all but two allow for early in-person voting and all allow for absentee ballots prior to Election Day.

Here's a timeline of early voting dates in key swing states:

Iowa is first among the "toss up" states on the calendar to allow in-person early voting beginning September 27, just one week before the first presidential debate. Absentee ballots in the state are also available September 27.

Early voting and absentee ballots become available in Ohio starting October 2.

Ballots from absentee voters in North Carolina have been available for over a week and the first day of in-person early voting begins October 18.

In Nevada, absentee ballots are available beginning October 17 and in-person early voting begins October 20.

In Wisconsin, absentee ballots are available beginning September 20 and in-person early voting begins October 22.

In Colorado, absentee ballots are available beginning October 15 and in-person early voting starts October 22.

Florida's absentee ballots are available beginning October 2 and in-person early voting begins October 27.

Though Virginia and New Hampshire do not allow for early voting, absentee ballots become available September 21 and October 5, respectively.

CNN's Dana Davidsen contributed to this report.

This is our chance to avoid another republican depression. Mittens has surrounded himself with Bush economic and Bush foreign policy advisors. I do not think we need another near depression or worse. Vote Obama/Biden!

CNN should be using its platform to help inform Americans around the country how to make sure they are registered, how to make sure they have the correct IDs (where required) and when they are able to vote. This article is nothing more than peeing on a parched farm field in the middle of a drought. There's nothing partisan about helping inform the public so they can exercise their right to vote.

  10. The REAL Truth...

I love how truth rails on Obamacare as being bad.. too bad you are parroting the Faux Noise garbage about a VERY
REPUBLICAN health care plan.. because that's what it is.. a REPUBLICAN health care plan.
That includes the individual mandate which was added to appease the GOP... who then turned around and had red state AG's file useless tax payer funded objections to their own plan.. because it came from Obama. The utter ignorance displayed by such posters is laughable!

There are those on the GOP side of the aisle who are trying to lock people out of the electoral process on the false premise of voter fraud.People fought and died for our right to vote; and we should cherish it.Don't let what they died for be in vain. This is a crucial election with serious consequences for everybody.Do whatever you need to do to be able to vote !

And in actual real news today, GOPer SEnate candidate Linda Lingle in Hawaii decided to continue the mistakes made by Mittens campaign last week by using a number of registered and proven republicans in an advertisement, all claiming they were Dems and/or Obama supporters who are so upset and disaffected that they are voting for a republican this year. It's the same as Faux Noise this mornign with their desperate attempts to try to create the narrative that the "switch" is happening all throughout the younger generations, who are upset with Obama as well...so they interviewed a kid that they very VERY poorly vetted and he ended up basically making fools of them and pranking them, making it quite obvious that they can't even find an example of this mythological creature known as the "former Obama supporter." You guys are pathetic with yor desperate lying and attempts to fabricate the perception of an incorrect, non-existent exodus from Obama. YAWN.

@McDaniel – The only side that is trying to cheat is the GOP – by denying U.S. citizens the right to vote. They should never use assume their "more patriotic than thou" facad ever again.

@bb – I think you meant "whiners" vote for R&R.

Sorry, it is not CNN's job to educate libtards on how to vote. If you are too dumb to figure it out yourself, are you really smart enough to make an intelligent voting decision? I do realize the Democrat vote counts heavily on ill informed voters being told to vote for a Democrat because it is in their own best interest when in fact, it is the worse thing they can do, for them and their kids.

"The Democrats will be voting early, and OFTEN!"

Undeniable proof that Obama is a natural born citizen: "It must be forged!!! Conspiracy conspiracy!!!! Where dah birf surtifikate!??!?!?!?!!?"

Zero evidence whatsoever of widespread voter fraud: "OMG IT EXISTS CUZ I SAID SO!!!"

They almost form neat little Teatroll bookends. Denial in the face of indisputably proven facts on the one end, and an irrational insistance on believing in something for which no evidence exists whatsoever on the other.

"dead people and illegals deserve to vote too. after all its their country too."

What part of "no evidence" do you have trouble understanding? Is it the concept of zero, the null set? OR is it the concept of needing facts and proof for your assertions to be true?
