Ottumwa, Iowa (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday offered the most high profile response yet from the Obama campaign - albeit a short one - in reaction to the controversial secretly recorded tape of Mitt Romney at a fundraiser event in May.
"I let his words speak for themselves," Biden said when asked his reaction to Romney's telling donors that 47% of Americans back President Barack Obama because they are "dependent on government" and believe "that they are victims."

Biden's reaction came after a rally in Ottumwa, Iowa. During his stump speech, the vice president steered clear of any mention of the controversy itself. Instead, Biden reiterated familiar political attacks against his Republican opponents on issues such as Medicare, job creation and tax policy.
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary was asked if the president has watched the video.
"I haven't asked him," Carney said.
"I can boldly say that I am confident he is aware of it."
Carney also added: "When you are President of the United States you are president of all the people - not just the people who voted for you. You have heard the president saying so many times, because he deeply believes it, that we are in this together, all of us."

A Mule is a Mule both created out of greed!. the later not intention.
@truth
While YOU may try to suggest Mitt Romney was only speaking of Democrats, he at least has owned up to his statements, which as crude as they are ... makes him better than you. Republicans AND Democrats make up that 47% bracket Mitt was speaking of. You sound as deluded as myviewis.
kay
mitt doing what rich people do ,talk bad about lil people

Mitt has given more money away to help people than he will every pay in taxes. Biden chips in 1-2% to charity every year and trashes everyone else. He makes plenty of money as there are plenty of people that give 10-15% away annually on a lot less. He actually does instead of rattle that rat trap and do nothing.
Yes they do. Truthful words..........something the Democrats have no knowledge of!
Show us your tax returns for the last 20 years Willard!! We want to see how unjust your 13% (so YOU say) rate is.
Willard loses. He may have won but he keeps talking.
Yes they do. They also speak for this administration's policy. No problem here.
The....Tape....Speaks....For....Itself. The Romney speaks for himself.
Romney described how voters who don't pay taxes are not his concern. Some would say that he was speaking about voting demographics. That's even worse. That's what makes it so bad. He's not even going to try to address their concerns....not...even...try. Since that was recorded in May, he has not even tried. He kept his promise, which is appalling.
Lars-
Mr. Romney can give away all his money- but that doesn't give him a free pass to insult and divide Americans. He is a little man unworthy of the job he is seeking.
The police acted stupidly? They cling to guns and religion? I'll have more flexibility after my election to russian president? They want to put yal back in chains? But your comments and the presidents don't? Get real dependant people and those who don't know who really pays taxes are his supporters. 'I am my brothers keeper'? Does the president stand by this phony hypocritical statement?
