Romney steps up effort to woo Latino voters in Univision forum

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney stepped up efforts to woo Latino voters Wednesday in a forum broadcast live online by the Spanish-language Univision network.

The forum, broadcast from the University of Miami, comes several weeks after co-host Jorge Ramos criticized the Commission on Presidential Debates for not picking a Latino debate moderator.

Anchor baby Mittens' message of 'self depot' is not resonating in the Latino community.

When you gear your campaign to any one course of action to win teh nomination you find yourself tied down and unable to move forward. Mr. Romney chose to move to the right to get the nomination and is having a very difficult time moving toward the center. At this point many would not be willing to believe him becasue he has been so outspoken on some issues.

One trait being attributed to Mr. Romney is arrogance. Unfortunately, he has displayed arrogance ont eh campaign trail and people have watched this all unfold. Is this the real Mitt Romney? It is very difficult to even think of him as a viable candidate because he has made so many mistakes. He has used poor judgement and then come out swinging and blaming others for his problems. Instead of going on shows and showing hosts and participants that he will meet wtih supporters and non-supporters. He will not accuse folks of disliking him and therefore would not invite hime to appear on a program. After listening to him andwatching him I woudl say it would re very difficult to support his candidacy because I am not sure just how sincere he is or just what he believes in.

Willard has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he'll say or do anything to get a vote. In his Mormon eyes, ANYONE of color is inferior to him (see his VP choice). Willard had the chance to get Latinos to possibly behind him, but he just couldn't bring himself to choose Rubio or Martinez as his pick. The man is a user and he will suck the life out of anyone outside his family to get what he wants. He cares absolutely nothing for half of this country and is totally unfit to run a country with this much potential and diversity. Hispanics don't be fooled – he is trying to take advantage of what he THINKS is your ignorance. Say NO to Willard.

maybe if the twit were born a Mexican, like he wished for in his tape, obama could deport him and he could retroactively come horse back on his 70000$ tax deduction and try again after he snags some of his american dollars from his tax free offshore accounts, then he can pull 12 million jobs from his keester for "you people " and since he was in Mexico he, of course is a foreign policy expert now.

Wooing hispanics without a hispanic surname?!? Is he crazy? This doesn't agree with comments from his unfiltered speech in Boca Raton, FL. Republicans are worried in all races down-the-ticket.

Self-deport? What the heck does that mean? I have no doubt Hispanics have been alienated during this campaign. But now there’s an opportunity for Gov. Romney to have a sincere conversation about what we can do and why. I absolutely advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. Republicans want to be tough and say, ‘Illegals, you’re gone.’ But the answer is a lot more complex than that.Don’t just talk about Hispanics and say immediately we must have controlled borders. It’s kind of insulting when you think about i

Romney the serial liar and panderer has already commented on how he feels about minorities, so all he's doing now is digging his political grave even deeper.

It`s too late Mitt. You should have stood up to the bigots in your party on "Birtherism" and Arizonal SB1070 , the "Papers Please" law that allows local police to harass US citizens just because they have brown skin, black hair, or skeak with a Spanish accent. Latinos were watching and taking note. They took note when you couldn`t bring yourself to rebuke Limbaugh when he tried to intimidate Sandra Fluke. Latinos stand with people of honor that stand with them. That`s why they stand with the President. Only he took the pressure off young adults who have only called America home. Only he found a Princeton/Yale graduate to sit on the highest court. President Obama will sign the DREAM Act. You won`t. Until the GOP purges its racist Tea Party elements, Republicans should give up on the latino vote.
