Boehner says presidential campaigns 'get off message'

Washington (CNN) - House Speaker John Boehner acknowledged Thursday that presidential campaigns get "off message," but sidestepped questions about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's controversial comments that have put congressional Republicans in the awkward position of defending their nominee.

"Everybody is going to try to make this election about everything other than what it is. The American people are asking the question, where are the jobs? And so the focus is on jobs," Boehner insisted at a news conference.

What message would that be, Cryer of the House? The House Republicans have failed to really control their Teapublicans who don't want to spend anything. If Boehner had put his foot down and said that this is the deal we have and we are going to forward with it.

What company in their right mind would be hiring people with Obama and the leftist Democrats in Congress??!! Messing with the tax code every month, messing with the healthcare system, attacking them, demonizing them, regulating, regulating, regulating because there are never enough regulations and taxes on businesses.

Obama and the leftist Democrats are hostile to business and evil rich people that invest in businesses. They have spent the country $6 TRILLION further in debt and businesses know THEY will get stuck paying all the money with new taxes.

Yeah.... they are real eager to hire people. NOT Send your thank you cards to Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

Want to know why people are asking Boehner where are the jobs? He promised The People jobs in 2010. Folks want to know where are the jobs that he promised. I guarantee you that no one is asking liberals and Democrats where are the jobs.

Come'on Boehner.... You always come up with this "speaking for the American People" stuff.

I don't know if you are aware of the congressional approval ratings but 80% disapproval rate translates to "YOU SU*K" where I come from at least!

Republican on the Hill should be supporting Romney. Many Ameicans feel what he has said is true. Obama is jpracticing redistribution , and pooling resources to accomodte others. Evidence, have paid into medicare since it was passed, figuring it would be there when I needed it. Mr. Obama redistributed funds from medicare to provide for Obamacare without my permission. It is like taking money from my savings , without permission to benifit others not me. There aswe know many well quified American who can work, but choose not too ,, but to allow the government instead take care of them with others money. Working Ameican do pay taxes regardless of how much they earn, and with deductions get back a majority of what taxes they given to government or all the taxes they gave.

"Everybody is going to try to make this election about everything other than what it is. The American people are asking the question, where are the jobs?"

Generally speaking, Boehner, American presidential elections have always been about it's people, and who the people want leading them. Mitt Romney managed to insult one half of the voting public. If you consider this "making the election about anything other than what it is" (the people), you would be correct. Romney proved he isn't concerned about the American people.

Oh, BTW: Your Republican "Jobs" meme lost it's flavor two years ago when you and your Republican cohorts took control of the House and did nothing but hurl insults at the President from then on.

The GOP House has been trying to make all of Congress' business about everything other than what it promised. The American people are asking the question, where are the jobs? And so the focus should have been on on jobs.

@ Truth, SERIOUSLY??? I don't even know where to start in rebuttal. You regurgitate points that have been debunked for MONTHS now! Your moniker really isn't very honest, so quit posting your trash!

Boehner and the GOP continue to whine about jobs. The Bush administration was losing jobs, at the end 800,000 a month. The Obama administration is providing for job growth – AGAINST ALL THE GOP OPPOSITION –
albeit at a slower rate than they would like. Thanks but no thanks to the Republicans in the house who's campaign motto for 2010 was JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!

Pathetic and disgusting. Can't wait for the debates! Get out and vote Democrats!!!

What company in their right mind would be hiring people with The GOP promising that if they don't, it will get them more tax cuts if it gets the GOP elected??!!

"I wonder do the republican party really hate our country."

Yes. Ever since about 1964 or 1965, they decided that they'd had it and wanted to get rid of the federal gov't for doing you know what.

Now you want us to elect into office in 2012, the office of the President no less, using the same lame azz gimmick?
Fool me once and go to hell.

It's funny how Republicans always want to change the subject when things aren't going their way. If the conversation were in their favor, they would accuse the other side of trying to change the subject. I didn't hear them crying about jobs being the focus when "Birth Certificates" and "College Transcripts" were their focus.

truth hurts- You've developed quite the sense of humor- good for you! You are in fact aware that Obama LOWERED taxes? You are aware that there have been very very few new regulations that affect business? If Mr. Obama was so bad for business, please explain the 100% rise in the stock markey since the Bush crash of '08.
    You crack me up!
