Pro-Romney super PAC spent $21.2 million in August

Washington (CNN) - The major super PAC backing Mitt Romney, Restore Our Future, spent almost $21.2 million last month – three times more than the $7 million it raised. The figures were contained in the group's monthly report filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.

Overall the group reported it has just under $6.3 million cash on hand.

Among its major donors last month was the founder and executive chairman of GoDaddy.com, Robert Parsons from Scottsdale, Arizona, who gave $1 million. Besides that contribution there were not the kinds of large donations last month like it has seen in the past.

As compared to last month, Restore Our Future spent much more in August than it did in July ($21.8 million vs. $8.2 million) but brought in about just over $400,000 less.

After several weeks off the air, the PAC went up with a $2.2 million ad campaign in Michigan and Wisconsin this week but has not advertised in the other key battleground states since the Republican National Convention.

CNN's Adam Levy contributed to this report.

And the moment that will be the most sickening of all?

When the MSM collectively pretends that Obama winning, despite being outspent, somehow vindicates the Citizens United decision.

Sure did that clown Romney a lot of good. Keep spending – maybe Obama will continue to increase his margins nationwide. You would think that by now they would realize what a flawed candidate they have and use the money to shore up down-ballot races that are now turning for the democrats, i.e. WI, MA, VA, etc.

Maybe instead of wasting money on a failed candidate why don't they take some of that money and redistribute it to our veterans, our poor, seniors, poor children whose only get one hot meal a day at school, the disabled.
Right, they are part of that 47% the twit cares nothing about.

Doubling-down on a losing bet. They know corporate rewards are high for having a man in the White House completely under your control – like Dick Cheney and Halliburton. Still, the poll numbers show Romney dropping like a stone and his ridiculous comments show he'll fare badly in the debates. Romney's campaign is over.

I wonder how much it'll take to cover up all the lies these pathelogical liars have conjured up in this campaign,he's is guilty as McCain and you remember what happened to him!!I think they should have Rove fly in Romneys Mexican relatives for a first time union of sorts, have a doctor there,it might kill him knowing he's actually from Mexican lineage!!And maybe poor as well,ya never know!!

How many children could be fed fro that amount of money? How many favors are expected because these very wealthy men donated to the PACs. The rest of us will only see opposition to any legislation which would help us out. Mr. Romney and his people believe that we are moochers and worse. I say speak for yourself, Mr. Romney. You did benefit from many laws which helped you to retain your fortune, to bank overseas and to divert funds to offshore accounts. We certainly could not do that.

That's an awful lot of money to spend on a clown show, where in the center ring we have the head clown administering political enemas to himself on a daily basis.

Ahhh, but not to worry. There are so many stupid people in this country that the chief clown will still get millions of votes. I would think that the Intellignet Designers would highlite that fact as major evidence that evolution has NOT occurred.

How will financiers react after the past month (the RNC Convention, Gov. Romney's gaffe on Syria, Gov. Romney's comments in May made)? Will Gov. Romney's supporters continue to invest as they have previously?

Huh! If your boy Romney can't come up with a viable turn-around plan, your money may well be wasted. If the American public is allowed to vote without dirty tricks, R/R will be unemployed the day after the election. Don't hang your hats on all those dirty polling tricks either. Romney (47%) insulted quite a few white people too. I know I was offended.

Obama always makes more money than Romney. Obama has way more rich supporters than Romney, Obama has big bucks supporters on his side. Remember, there are more rich Democrats than Republicans or Independents.

Why bother spending the money on adverts or whatever lies they're peddling on behalf of Mr. Romney? Shouldn't they be finding the rest of the secretly taped videos of Mitt the twit?

Ouch !! That has got to hurt, but it is good to know they could not buy higher poll numbers in August with all that money spent. Romney has peaked and is trending downwards over the next 48 days
