Washington (CNN) - Republicans are moving three staffers out of Democratic-leaning New Mexico and shifting them to Colorado and Nevada, two states where the presidential race is more competitive.
The Republican National Committee and Mitt Romney's campaign will continue to maintain staff and victory offices in New Mexico, a spokesman for the RNC said.

But the moves are a clear sign that party officials see Colorado and Nevada as higher priorities on the electoral map.
"The GOP Victory team is bolstering our organizations in the key battlegrounds of Colorado and Nevada, two places where the President is hemorrhaging support thanks to his failed economic policies," RNC Spokesman Tim Miller said when asked about the moves.
The "Victory Team" is the joint political operation and turnout effort run by the RNC and Romney campaign.
"Our team will continue advocating for Governor Romney and his plan to strengthen the middle class in each of these states where voters know that we can do better than the past four years," Miller added.
President Obama has a tiny but statistically insignificant lead in both Colorado and Nevada, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Republicans are confident about their ground game in those two states and have made over 1 million voter contacts in both.
In New Mexico, though, the RCP polling average shows Obama with a roughly 10-point lead - and neither campaign is running television ads in the state.
New Mexico used to be more competitive turf. President George W. Bush won the state in 2004 by less than a single percentage point.
But Obama crushed Sen. John McCain there by 15 points in 2008.
well the news fo n m is bad there is hope but noy with obama as a winner, the goverment will take more control and we will seam like a commiums country.
Its looking better for the Dems, all the time. I'm not quite sure why the Republicans would move out of a place they are loosing, instead of just trying harder in that location. Does this mean that NM is going to loose military bases, if Mitt takes over? Even more reason for NM voters to go with the Democrats, and insure Mitt doesn't make it.
See, Romney cares less!
Obama 2012!
LOL – So much for courting the Latino vote. The GOP is toast.
It's fun to see the Republicans beginning to realize they are going to lose bigtime.
If you are going to write off almost half of the population as people who will never vote for you, then you might as well pack out from places such as MI, WI, and ND which Obama carried all by double digit against McCain. Mitt has no chance there and instead should focus his effort in FL, OH and NC for one last chance.
It looks like damage control time as the GOP starts to be very concerned at how long President Obama's coat tails will be in November. Looks like GOP members of Congress are starting to see which way the wind is blowing. Better stock up on empty boxes boys and girls and update those resumes. Get over to Avenue K right away and reserve your next job as a lobbyist.
Sure is nice that neither campaign is running ads here in NM. Makes life a lot more pleasant.. Now, if our Senate candidates would just follow suit...
Maybe New Mexicans don't like to be lied or pandered to....maybe they don't feel like victims and they do take responsibility for their lives....maybe they don't want vouchercare....there are so many reasons not to vote for Romney!
Good thing Latinos are just brown and Romney only had to change his skin color to appeal to them.
@chuck
Thomas.....It's spelled Honor, not Honer. Stupid people vote Democrat and it shows.

Thank you Chuck , dyslexics are people too !
This is no surprise. Romney never had any chance of winning NM. I can tell you as a NM resident that this state is full of liberals who are looking for a handout. The majority of this state will ALWAYS vote democratic, even if the Dem platform switches entirely to communist. In my congressional district Dems out weigh Republicans about 4 to 1.

This is no surprise. I can tell you as a resident NM is a hugely Dem leaning state. We have waaay to many people looking for a handout, and because of that, the Dems will reign in this state.
Maybe they should move to Iran or North Korea. Those countries' governments are more in line with their brand of "thinking."
I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. We, here in America need to learn from that.
