Romney ended August with $50 million in the bank

(CNN) – Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney ended August with $50 million cash on hand and an anticipated $15 million in debt, monthly reports filed with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday showed.

Romney's campaign said Tuesday that the portion of a $20 million loan taken out to bridge his primary candidacy through his party's official nomination when he could tap his general election funds would show on the report, although it said the outstanding debt has been reduced to approximately $11 million. The loan used as collateral his general election war chest, which allows for deposits but no withdrawals until the candidate is officially his party's presidential nominee.

But overall, the Romney's campaign has plenty to spend.

The candidate raised $86.6 million in the month, which concluded with the Republican National Convention in Tampa where Romney officially became his party's nominee.

He also spent $66.3 million over the course of August.

The numbers do not include cash raised by the Republican National Committee or other parties to the Romney Victory Fund.

"Reports show Romney short on cash on hand"

    Gee... that's too bad....

For a guy who was having a string of million dollar months, it sounds like his camp ran the financial end of the campaign about as well as they did every other aspect of the campaign.

All that money for nothing. Well, it did help solidify the countrys' view that Romney is not fit to serve as anything more important than dog catcher. Of course, with his inhumane handling of dogs, that position may even be unattainable for Romney.

"Romney's campaign has plenty to spend",I hope it does not include spending to buy votes.Romney confidently said he will win Pensylvania, only later did people get to know they perfected a plan to suppress votes.Look out for the real fraud.Romney is slimey, and desperate.

It was a Cayman Island bank, I assume.
    But what do I know?
I expect to get healthcare from the government (at the VA), and have for over two decades.

Maybe if he did not give $30,000 bonuses to his campaign staff for doing NOTHING but further dragging him into his grave, he would have more money... That's RobMe for ya' – he enters into a campaign and tries to RUN IT but when it begins to FAIL and look like it's going to the dumps, he gives his partners BONUSES on top of an over $100,000 salary and then bails out!!!! Hmm, sounds like Bain Capital to me!!
