Romney escalates ad spending

Reno, Nevada (CNN) - The Romney campaign has escalated its ad buying.

For a week starting this last Wednesday the Romney campaign has bought just over $12 million in broadcast and cable time in eight battleground states, according to a Democratic source tracking ad buys. That is a small increase from previous weeks.

– Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

Both the Obama and Romney campaigns are vigorously fighting for any advantage in Ohio, Florida and Virginia as evidenced by the fact a majority of the swing state ad money from both sides is going into these three states.

Analysts have said the Republican ticket must carry at least one if not more of these three key states in order to get to 270 electoral votes. Sweeping all three for the president will mean a much easier road to re-election.

As for the Romney campaign, here is a breakdown of its latest buy, according to the ad tracking source, spanning Wednesday Sept. 26 through next Wednesday Oct. 2nd:

OH: $2.51 million
IA: $860,000
VA: $2.47 million
NC: $1.29 million
WI: $920,000
FL: $2.76 million
NV: $530,000
NH: $14,000

Go right ahead and waste your money on false ads Willard. This ad running in Virginia about you ending Planned Parenthood hurts you. The ad with the gentlemen who states the stage he and his coworkers built which ended up being their coffin when you and your Bain buddies fired them hurts you in Ohio. The ads running in all the battleground states with your 47% comments hurts you everywhere. Let me tell you like Adrian told Rocky: YOU CAN'T WIN!!!

Of course...if folks aren't buying your message then simply buy more ads. Brainwashing is a GOP tactic.

Romney your answer to everything is buy buy buy, all we have heard is your SELL on how your the best man for the job as President, how you are the better choice to solve our problems, but you haven't told us how your going to do it, you give no concrete answers to how your going to do it.....Ryan says we have to wait till you are elected then you will work with Congress to solve these problems.......that doesn't tell us anything, you think we are fools that are just going to blindly trust your word.......well then I guess your word was 47% of us abuse the government and depend on it to much and that we are the one's you don't care about.....well we don't care to have you and Ryan as our next President.....so keep on buy ADs......you can buy all you want but 91% of Americans have already made up their minds and will not change our minds......the only ones that will watch them and believe them is the people that are not voting for you but voting against Obama......that should make you feel really appreciated.......

In related news, Obama is provided with free political ads courtesy of: the View, Late Night, ABC News, NBC News, MSNBC, most of Hollywood. But hey, at least Romney has Fox News and Clint Eastwood. That Obama is winning by such a slim margin in spite of the clear advantage publicity tells us exactly how bad a president he is. Without all that free help he would be done this year.

I think I found a huge chunk of that 2.51 million has spent in Ohio for everyday I go to my mailbox here in Ohio there are several flyers or letters some requesting money. I am part of that 47% he says he cannot change but still mails stuff to me everyday, WTF? I try to be nice though and respond to all of his pleas for money and mail back everything in the post paid envelope along with a few other mail items that were going to the trash but now go to Romney instead.

Have they elevated the content? Bashing Obama and then offering nothing as a solution isn't leadership- it's whining.
If you believe you can do it better- tell us how!
Mitt can't do that because he can't and won't.

    It just doesn't matter-
Romney will get the wacko vote and the 33-35 % of voters who would vote for a dead guy as long as he was a Republican-that will put him up around 39% on Election Day....
I'd say "nice try Mitt"...but it really wasn't.....

Obama blew a $100 million on ads early while Romney was fighting in the primaries and before the nominattion when he was handcuffed. NOW it is time for Romney to let lose on Obama with the same ad barrage. Don't hold back and put the brass knuckles on Romney! These lying lefties need to be clobbered and clobbered HARD.

    Hey Borderless.....
"That Obama is winning by such a slim margin"....have you even seen the recent polls? 10 points in Ohio-12 in Pennsylvania...4-6 in Florida...
The rats are already jumping the ship and finding excuses-as pathetic as the campaign they "ran"....

Obama's fault once again. He has forced Robme to spend more money than necessary. Magical Mitt, on his past record alone, should be able to sweep the presidency. See there's....uhm...and, well, oh yeah. He was Governor of MA. Have you seen what MA's had to say about being 47th in job creation. Hey look! I'm a numerologist. I've made extra use of the number 47? Now why's that familiar? Hmmm. Anyway he also led (according to him) Bain. That's good, right? Oh. They shipped our jobs away. Well, maybe its more than Obama. Maybe he's using those ads to patch up his past. Then there's that tax thing. Yep. Better invest a lot of money convincing us of how good he is. Will take lots of ads and money.

I guess Mitt has to spend more, and work harder, in order to compete with an opponent who has carte blanche access to Air Force One ... the entire main stream media ... Hollywood ... television talk shows ... the bully pulpit ... our tax dollars ... etc., etc., etc..

  15. Wake up people!

I sure do love the stench of desperation in the morning! Have you learned nothing Willard, people are tiring of your blatant lies? But keep spending that money, I'm sure the networks are loving it.

I'm just curious which one of you, yourself or Lying Ryan, will be bending over for Rove and which of you will be on your knees after the POTUS puts the smackdown on you on Nov. 6th?? Inquiring minds want to know.....

One more reason for gettingt rid of the electoral college system: the obscene amount of money spent on political campaigns.

Mittens it's called "reality". The first stage in recovery is admitting you lost. With Iowa voting today, he must not be getting good news from his Iowa team.

Here’s the latest lie. Now it’s Obama fault the National Debt has run up. WOW!!! You really have to go a long way to get to this one. First there was Bush with his 2 wars borrowing over 10 Billion a month from Chain to pay for them for the 8 years he was in office. And due to the recession he caused, our GNP was never enough to enable us to even pay the interest on that and all of our other debts; driving our National Debt even high. All this before we even elected President Obama. Yet, somehow, in trying to turn all this around, it’s his fault. But, I wouldn’t get too concerned; next week they’ll try to feed another lie to the people. Just think how they would do if they could actually win an election for President. WOW!!!!

Mittler is pulling out the stops, and who can blame him? How would you like to have to face mafiosi Sheldon Adelson after Nov. 6? All that lovely, dirty, mafia money squandered with nothing to show for it. And all those foreigners who contributed to the W-omney campaign, all so disappointed.

I hope Mittler has a bunker to hide out in when this is over. He's going to need it.

There's only 2 things W-omney can show me that would be of any interest.

    1) Ten years of real tax returns (not unsubstantiated statements from you paid accountants)
    2) George W. Bush

As soon as anyone in Ohio or Pennsylvania discover that zero is destroying the coal industry which supplies 45% of our electricity needs and thousands of jobs his numbers will start to tank.
Socialism never works no matter where it is tried.
Release areas to drill allover the country, stop refining fat Hugos oil form Venezuela ,a country that has Iranian missiles pointed at us and refine Canadian crude from Keystone, and we will be energy exporters by the end of Romney's first term.Reelect zero and gas will be $6.00 a gallon, electricity will double and the economy will tank. It's your choice.
