Getting ready for Wednesday's showdown

(CNN) – Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, who's playing the role of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in President Barack Obama's debate preparations, will join the president in Nevada this week, according to an Obama re-election campaign official.

The president travels to Nevada on Sunday, where he'll hold an evening rally. Obama will stay in Nevada to prepare for the debates before flying to Denver on Wednesday for the first debate.

The Romney campaign tells CNN that Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, who's playing the role of Obama in Romney's debate preparations, will travel with the former Massachusetts governor on Monday to Colorado. Romney will hold a rally in Colorado that night before final debate preparations.

Romney's running mate - Rep. Paul Ryan - will debate Vice President Joe Biden on October 11, and a campaign aide said Saturday that Ryan will focus on debate preparations a few days next week while in Virginia. He is expected to be in the Old Dominion State on Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly on Friday.

His last mock debate - with legal scholar Ted Olson - was in Janesville, Wisconsin on September 23.

Obama doesn't care about anyone but Obama. In order to protect his chances of being reelected, he's asking defense contractors to hold off on notifying employees of possible layoffs until after the election and the US government will cover their expenses for violating the WARN Act. He doesn't care about the employees who will suddenly find themselves out of a job without warning. These are the same people, many of them union members, that are helping him get reelected. This is the same president who said, "This is my last election. After my election I will have a lot more flexibility." Now he's showing how he will use his "flexibility" to betray the people that put him in office.

Funny how John Kerry was a rich guy with alleged tax issues, but that was just ok.

  5. ThinkAgain: Hey networks, fact-check the debates in real-time and put it in the crawl!

Presidential debate broadcasts should fact check the candidates statements in real time and have it appear as a crawl at the bottom of the screen.

Since President Obama and Romney have both made several appearances before the public, most of their statements made at the debate could be easily fact-checked beforehand and then displayed in real time. New statements made could be easily checked by a relatively small group of fact-checkers and then displayed. All sources would be cited and a compilation of results (true, mostly true, false, mostly false, etc.), sources and detailed explanations could be posted on the Commission on Presidential Debates website.

This would put the candidates on notice that they can't lie during the debates – and would greatly help inform American voters.

President Obama will be bringing his A game with all his tremedous skills as a debater. Romneyhood will be bringing the GOP game called Liars and Whiners which the voters are getting sick of already. LET THE GAMES BEGIN. OBAMA 2012

All the prep time in the world can't prepare Romney for the debates. He has proven himself to be inconsistent on virtually every issue that has come up. He and Ryan have lied to the American people and as much as he has said he doesn't believe in fact checkers, most news sources have confirmed their lies, consistently. President Obama is an intelligent President and has accomplished a lot considering he didn't get any Republican support in the Congress. The President will do well in the debates, simply because he knows what he is talking about. He isn't confused as Romney is. He is not a liar like Romney.

kerry needs to give obama the riot act – I mean he needs to be tougher than 10 penny nails to him, for this role. Otherwise, romney will win, wednesday. I wonder if kerry is going to ask obama about all those people that was wearing hard hats at the RNC ? I mean those people were wanting to go to Work. I mean they may be democrats, for all I know. But they are probably tired of drawing unemployment, or drawing welfare , or food stamps. ( or all 3 ) There is 800 + yrs. of Coal in the mountain state, and the obama regime won't mine it. They are scared to death of the EPA. There is so much to be mined for, or drilled for, / gas / oil / shale / in the keystone state / buckeye state / not to mention Maryland & Va. it's pitiful. But the obama administration wants to rely on the sun, or windmills I guess. It's not enough, and people are hurting all over this country, and Want to go to Work. I can tell you IF Romney gets elected, Alaska will look like it's in the ICU unit at a hospital, looking at it from a sattelite, once a republican gets elected. I'm voting democrat so the stock market can hold around what it's been lately. I certainly don't want the stock market to go back like it was during the bush regime. ( 6,000 ) I like it being around the 12,000 or 13,000 or 14,000 mark.
Vote Democrat – 2012 (for the "working" middle class)

I hope Obama has some good one liners, stays positive, emphasizes that Romney's far right agenda (i.e, Ryan taxes cuts) and hpw Romney is the "flip-flopper" on most of the major issues of our day (Obamacare). How can we trust him?

I wish CNN and Anderson Cooper would give more attention to the election and especially to issues like Romney's refusal to forward his Income taxes and today's news that Romney got rid of investments in China, Iran, and birth control before the GOP debates than on the complicated Libyan situation. When I have recently turned on Anderson Cooper I'm not sure if I'm on Fox or CNN. Could he possibly have someone on from the administration (unheard of on Fox, and now CNN). It is a complicated situation that politicians like McCain want to politicize, i.e., if the administration sends in the FBI and they get injured and/or killed the GOP and Cooper will say, "What were they thinking." It's a really "no win" situation that has no superficial, political sound bite, solution. Cooper sounds like a GOP operative with his "expert" from the Bush administration (boy they did well!).

Romney is getting a push on his taxes (home and abroad) and flip flops during a crucial time when the public needs to know the true stories about both Romney and Obama.

Romney will find himself up the creek without a paddle on Wednesday night, because his usual strategy of flip-flopping, telling outright lies, half-truths, and making race-baiting comments that worked for him during the primaries won't fly.

Before watching any debates let's make sure we have done a little research ourselves. The problems in the Middle East, the Economy and where we stand today, the housing market, the jobs front, etc. Once the debates are over there will be people who will try to tell us who won or lost. We ought to be able to figure this all out by ourselves. WE will not rely on these people to explain what we just heard. There is always a written copy of the questions and answers. We can read that for greater understanding. The campaigns are already trying to set the stage and to keep their candidate off the hot seat.

Mitt doesn't need any mock debater. He can debate himself, I mean Mitt of 2012 can debate Mitt of 2005.

American people need to remember the deficit was 10 trillion when Obama took the oath of office. Bush started to give auto companies bailout money(part of the first stimulus Senator Obama voted for). Obama then continued on his spending ride in 2009 going from 20% spending under Bush and quick rise to 25% with Obama within frist year and continued to stay 24% for 3 more years under Obama, the deficit rose to 16+trillion under Obama. The only people who bentified the most were union workers, friends and donors. The DEFICIT is deffently Obamas, and in 4 more years that number might just be 20 trillion. He blames the prescription care bill on the republicans, but his change of the presciption plan for American included in Obama-care will cost millions more. Don't let the fancy rhethoric cloud your judgement!

While John Kerry is a great pick to play the role, since he does have experience on the national stage, he'll never be able to go as low as Willard. Having said that, I have no doubt the president will perform well, but I do hope the moderators have fair and balanced questions for both candidates and that they force Willard, to give us specifics on what he'll do to Medicare, ss and definitely his foreign policy stance re war with Iran. Should he be forced to answer these things-it's over for him and his campaign and the rest is history.

Being rich really helps Romney prepare. He had an automatic fire extinguisher installed in his magic underwear for the inevitable "pants on fire" situation he so often creates.

Notice that these extremely wealthy hateful people like Kerry are hard core leftists, the rich people who actually care about people like Romney who gave 15% of his wealth to charity vote Republican.

For these rich libs their money hasn't made them happy. They want power, they want to control us, take away our rights and freedoms, make us slaves to a big controlling government.

The great society Democrats of today like Obama and Kerry are even more evil and hateful than their Democrat forefathers who started the klan, implimented jim crow laws, supported segrigation and started the great society that libs use today to hold back people of color and those who are poor.

If most Americans have good in their hearts and have the ability to care about others then Romney should win in a landslide. I hope that what I see in Republican areas is the norm for America, and that what I witness each day in ultra blue America is a hate and meanness that is not a majority of this nation.

Doug, tell us what's hateful about Kerry? The way he fought in Vietnam while Mitt was lying on the beach in France? And how do you know who's happy and who isn't. Debate the facts, don't judge everyone by his or her income, or by what he or she tithes to his or her church.

Obama camp is spending millions to pay people up to 11/hr to protest anywhere Romney shows up. Obama camp paying for online posts, fabebook and twiiter followers, and has spent much more than Romney. Also, Citizens United ruling has put tens of millions more into Obama camp than Romney camp. Open Secrets dot org shows all of the facts. Obama camp is spending millions to cast an illusion of popularity. Check it your self.
