New York (CNNMoney) – Economists think Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney would be better for the economy than President Obama. But they're not very enthusiastic about either of them.
Nine of 17 top economists surveyed by CNNMoney picked Romney when asked who's election would help the economy grow more. Only three picked Obama.
Seems as though even reluctance is better than no faith (or little-3votes) at all
President Obama is black which was the big "white elephant" in the room of Congress, the worst congress of all times. Their aim from inauguration day was to see him fail and to vote "No" on everything. Even President Clinton would have had a better time. I, like many of my friends and family members do not vote for the economy reasons like the media and political pundits are trying to force feed us the public, but for the one who genuinely cares for the well being of ordinary people.
How could three economists have picked Obama to be better for the economy, he has had almost 4 years now to prove beyond any doubt that he is an absolute failure at everything to do with the economy
good thinkg we do not have right wing economist picking our President. But than again, they might part of stealing the election with this voter suppression CRAP
This man can't run an efficient campaign, I doubt if he can run an economy of a country
Are these the same braindead economicst that speculate on the economy of a daily basis only to find that nothing will happen in the end?
Sorry, this isn't about a bunch of rich talking heads who get paid to scare people on a daily basis to move the market one way or another.
I really can`t rationalize this based on policies & history. America`s biggest & best economic times have occured under Democrats, not Republicans. Budgets have been balanced under the Democrat and not ANY of the Republicans.
The President & Democrats have an opportunity to exile the GOP to the fringes of American politics and win national offices for the next 20 years. They must BRAND themselves as the ADULT party.
For example, a major tenet from the DEMS must be: Budget deficits are UNACCEPTABLE and they must be able to show evidence of eliminating them. Cut SPENDING [but only DEFENSE spending] Raise revenue [but only by eliminating BigOil loopholes & private jet giveaways]. Save Medicare [but do it by cost controls on spiraling healthcare expenses and eliminating the medicare salary cutoff, means testing, etc.]. Be strong militarily but pull out of Afghanistan and reset the force [both people & equipment for THE NEXT FIGHT].
If Dems aggressively take every reasonalbe position from the GOP during this time of TeaParty insurgency, they can marginalize the Republican Party in the eyes of voters for a generation.
What does reluctantly have to do with the bottom line? The article should have been titled, "Top Economists Pick Romney." The bottom line is that 9 of 12 top economists predict Romney would do a better job. But, I suppose, the closer we get to the election, he more CNN's bias will show. Ridiculous.
I'd bet they didn't ask Nobel winner Paul Krugman.
Well – I whole-heartedly support President Obama and will vote that way tomorrow. My big decision is: morning or afternoon?
Ryan/Romney have lied too many times. After 40 years of wanting to privatize soc sec and turn medicare over to private ins. companies for profits, I don't believe they want to save them. They want profits for their friends at the top.
And redundantly pick too, after watching forty seven percent comment????
