(CNN) – Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, who's playing the role of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in President Barack Obama's debate preparations, will join the president in Nevada this week, according to an Obama re-election campaign official.
The president travels to Nevada on Sunday, where he'll hold an evening rally. Obama will stay in Nevada to prepare for the debates before flying to Denver on Wednesday for the first debate.

Tamarac, Florida (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden launched a new line of attacks on Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan on Friday, dismissing the Republican vice presidential nominee as "that guy" and asking an audience who it would believe on the critical issue of Medicare.
Romney's campaign described the attacks as false and warned they would backfire.

(CNN) - The Republican National Committee said this week it has cut ties with a consulting firm that Florida election officials say may have filed falsified voter registration paperwork.
Palm Beach County, Florida, Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher told CNN that her office has called into question as many as 106 voter registration applications that were turned in by someone connected to Strategic Allied Consulting. Fred Petti, an attorney for the firm, said the employee involved in the questionable signatures was "fired immediately."

(CNN) – Sen. Claire McCaskill fired back Friday at Rep. Todd Akin over his recent characterization of her as less "ladylike" in the pair’s current senatorial election than she was in her last, dismissing her Republican foe as an outlier even in right-wing circles.
"I was speechless," the senator said in an interview with MSNBC, referring to Akin’s latest comments. "I mean, this is somebody who does make Michele Bachmann look like a hippie. He is that far on the fringe."

New York (CNNMoney) - The White House on Friday told government contractors worried about fiscal cliff spending cuts to hold off on warning employees about possible layoffs.
The government said it would cover legal costs if contractors are forced to slash their payrolls because of the looming $109 billion in automatic cuts next year and are alleged to have violated the WARN Act.
