On the Trail: October 2, 2012

(CNN) – As the two presidential candidates spend the day off the trail preparing for Wednesday's debate in Denver, high profile surrogates will stump across the country. Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate, will hold events across Iowa, and Vice President Joe Biden will campaign in North Carolina. The candidates' wives will also hit the trail - Ann Romney in Colorado, and Michelle Obama in Ohio, the first day of early voting in the Buckeye State.

10:10 a.m. ET: Paul Ryan holds a campaign rally in Clinton, Iowa.

11:10 a.m. ET: Vice President Biden holds a campaign event in Charlotte, North Carolina.

1:00 p.m. ET: Paul Ryan holds a campaign event in Muscatine, Iowa.

2:15 p.m. ET: Michelle Obama holds a campaign event in Cincinnati, Ohio.

3:30 p.m. ET: Joe Biden holds a campaign event in Asheville, North Carolina.

2:45 p.m. ET: Paul Ryan holds a campaign event in Burlington, Iowa.

4:50 p.m. ET: Ann Romney holds a campaign event in Littleton, Colorado.

    I just got home from voting – surprised the turnout was so high this soon, but had to wait in line about 30 minutes.

    Tying Obama to Pelosi. How terrible. She was after all, one of the most effective speakers of the house of the last 50 years. She sure got a lot more done (incl ethics investigations) than Boehner, who can't even get his GOP members to support his own legislation.
