BREAKING ON CNN: MITT ROMNEY’S PRE-DEBATE ROUTINE INCLUDES WRITING “DAD” ON A PIECE OF PAPER AT THE PODIUM IN HOMAGE TO HIS FATHER, GEORGE ROMNEY …

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Gloria Borger, ANN ROMNEY says: "As soon as he gets on stage, the first thing he does - actually, there's - there are a few first things he does. He takes off his watch and puts it on the podium. But then he writes "Dad" on the piece of paper. And that's amazing, because he loves his dad, respects his dad. Doesn't want to do anything that would not make his father proud. And just a reminder that, 'Yes, I'm here, but Dad, I love and respect who you are, what you've taught me, what kind of a person you are, and I'm going to honor that.' And so I love the fact that Mitt does that. So he writes that. And then he looks in the audience and he finds me. He has to find where I am. And - he just - he needs just that connection. And almost after every answer that he gives, he'll find me in the audience, to see, 'Was that good? Was that OK?'"

BREAKING: FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA TELLS CNN’S JESSICA YELLIN, “I GET SO NERVOUS”... In an interview set to kick off CNN’s pre-debate coverage at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Michelle Obama compares herself to a mother of an Olympic competitor:

Michelle Obama: “I get so nervous at these debates and, you know, I am like one of those parents watching their kid on the balance beam, standing there, trying not to, you know, have any expression at all.” Asked if she critiques the president, the first lady says she generally gives only positive reinforcement “because he is a great speaker. You know, he is good at this.”

Romney camp seizes on 'stunning admission' by Biden

Asheville, North Carolina (CNN) - Mitt Romney's campaign seized on what Republicans called a "stunning admission" made Tuesday by Vice President Joe Biden when he said the middle class "has been buried" the last four years, putting the Obama campaign on defense.

During a campaign event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the vice president reiterated recent attacks against his Republican opponents: claiming that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan's economic plans would raise taxes on middle class families.

(CNN) – The latest national survey of likely Latino voters shows President Barack Obama retaining a big lead over rival Mitt Romney in the key voting demographic, matching the level of support he received from Latinos in 2008.

The poll also showed a majority of Latinos said the economy was a more important issue than immigration, and indicated enthusiasm among Latinos is lower than it is among non-Latino whites.

House GOP wants State Dept. to answer for Libya security

(CNN) – The State Department's rejection of "repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi" came amid "a clear pattern of security threats" in the five months leading up to the attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Libya, a Tuesday letter from House Republicans obtained by CNN reads.

"The attack that claimed the Ambassador's life was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012," the letter from Reps. Darrell Issa and Jason Chaffetz to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reads.

'Queasy stomachs' as Biden plane aborts landing

Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) – Bad weather caused the plane carrying Vice President Joe Biden to abort its initial landing, creating a rough ride and passenger uncertainty over when the plane could land.

The plane - Air Force Two – attempted to land at the Charlotte Douglas airport for a campaign event. After an initial descent, the military version of a Boeing 757 harshly pulled back up, jolting those on board and raising concern aboard that something was wrong.
