Economy creates 114,000 jobs in September, unemployment falls below 8%

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - The unemployment rate tumbled in September as more people returned to the labor force and steady hiring continued.

Employers added 114,000 jobs during the month, down from a revised 142,000 jobs in August, the Labor Department said Friday. But revisions to July and August mean the economy added 86,000 more jobs than originally reported in those months.

Slowly but sure we will reach there. No need of changing horses. It doesn't make any sense.

Uh oh Willard! It's below 8% and now that's 31 straight months of private sector job growth. The country is moving i the right direction and you're trying to take us backwards.

Watch the GOP try to spin this. This is good news for the President and just what he needed to recover this week.

Romney/Ryan will complain because Americans are getting jobs which is proof that 47% that Romney doesn't care about aren't lazy, worthless, no good Americans just because they aren't rich in fact a lot of them serve in our U.S. military to protect Romney and his five(5) sons as well 100% of Americans safe. Romney apologizes for his comments this late in the game only to benefit himself but we aren't buying it.

HA HA HA HA HA HA conservative spin starting in 5,4,3,2,1 .. Great Job Prez and it would be lower had the republicants passed your jobs bill. Oh and more people were back looking for jobs not dropping out just to kill one conservative talking point. Check out behind the numbers on bloomberg lol.

WOOO HOOOO! That's what I'm talking about. We the people made this country what it is and WE the people will keep this country #1 in the world. With all the rhetoric the GOP has been spewing that Obama has not done enough to strengthen the economy, that is GOOD news. Not only for Obama's aspirations to continue to bring us out of depressing economic times, but the the country as a WHOLE. Just think about this. Where would the unemployment rate be if the stimulus bill did not get passed? Where would we be if GM would have folded? Now think about this also. How low would the unemployment rate been if the GOP would have passed the jobs bill Obama presented? Imagine how better America would be if we didn't experience a do nothing obstructionist congress? Not only would the unemployment rate be lower, but also our debt would have went down also. Now just wait. There will be GOP spin masters who will say those are low wage or seasonal jobs. Yup, that's right too. But if people that could not spend what they earned those jobs would not be needed. The cycle of prosperity is working.

So the 114,000 jobs created in September more than outweigh the 386,000 initial unemployment claims that were reported just a few days ago?

See, America be patient. Obama is working so hard for us. Let us give him credit for this.

Proof positive that President Obama's policies are on the right track. If you are one of the newly reemployed, you need to send him a Thank You Vote on Nov 6th. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012

  13. Fact - Unemployment rate below 8%, GM is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead

The country is starting to feel the improvement now. This is why President Obama's plan is better. Could you imagine if President Obama inherited the surplus from President Clinton rather than two unpaid wars, a financial industry on the brink of collapse and the worst economic nightmare since The Great Depression. President Obama is making a better environment for all people to achieve the American dream if they work hard, despite unreasonable opposition in Congress. How are his opponents going to try to spin this one. They really can't take credit for it. Especially since they recently voted against a Veterans Jobs bill two weeks ago.

If it was GOP, the most they would have added is 57,000 jobs in September. Remember the the math given by Clinton? Over 52 year period America created 67 million jobs. 28 years GOP was in control of whitehouse and 24 Democrats. Of the 67 million jobs, 44 million were created during Democrats reign while 23 were created under Repubs control white house. Dems creates jobs twice faster than Repubs

Just proposing a question. How does the unemployment rate drop today, when just last week the number of unemployment claims increased? Also I'd like to know how many of these new jobs created are due to the holiday season hirings?

Oh dear. The rain is really starting to rain on Romney's parade. First the Obama campaign is using his comments from the debate in ads to show his exaggerations or down right lies. Then Romney himself came out today and did the biggest flip-flop of all on his mean 47% comment. Now the jobs report shows that the rate fell to 7.8% which cancels Romney's claim that things are not getting better. Can't wait for the next debate.

Pretty much what this president has been saying "WE ARE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION". Takes time to build than to demolish. I project 7.2% by next March. Lets retain BHO for the next 4 yrs with a promise to bring back our troops home and invest our $$$$ right here in our motherland. If Romney brought back his millions to invest in the country where he made it, then he will get my vote. Charity begins at home.

Steady, slow growth. If the Democrats weren't the only party working for the country's economic health, the growth would be faster. That's why Tea Partiers and ultra right-wingers need to be kicked out of Congress.

Not enough job growth to even cover population growth and the unemployment rate falls??? Anything sound strange here????

Let's see, 114,000 jobs added, which is about half the monthly population growth, and the unemployment rate plummets. Nope, no cooking the books here, it looks like printing money and throwing it at campaign contributors and potential voters works after all! Will the mainstream media call out the administration on this obvious fakery? What would they have done if Bush's administration pulled a stunt like this? Stay tuned. (hint; check out Fox if you want to find out what's going on)

This is great news. The economy is not where anyone wants it to be, but it is slowly improving, and analysts predict 12,000,000 new jobs, for the next 4 years, regardless of who is president.

I'm curious how Romney will spin this.

On a more serious note, I really do wonder how much of the unemployment rate drop is do to people no longer looking for work.

Fun Fact: There are over 3 million job openings that cannot be filled due to lack of qualified people. Looks like our crummy education system is catching up
