Plouffe questions Romney's disavowal of "47%" remarks

Washington (CNN) - In brief comments to reporters on Friday, White House Senior Adviser David Plouffe questioned the credibility of Mitt Romney’s most recent attempts to distance himself from controversial comments delivered at a private fundraiser last May.

“I think he said they were inelegant,” Plouffe said, referring to Romney’s initial reaction to recordings of his “47%” comments. “There is no elegant way to attack half the country, say they’re victims, say they won’t take responsibility. These are teachers. These are veterans. These are seniors. And the most important thing is his policies reflect that approach and that disdain because his entire economic philosophy is geared toward the very wealthy and burdening the middle class.”

As many of us who blog on here daily have said, Willard's campaign was over when the 47% comments were made public. Can you imagine if we weren't made aware of his true feelings? When he starts cutting vital services detrimental to th emiddle class and the poor, we all would've been scratching our heads asking why. Thank you David Corn for exposing the real Mitt Romney.

WILL THE REAL MITT ROMNEY PLEASE STAND UP, PLEASE STAND UP, PLEASE STAND UP!!!

Might I suggest those who would believe Mitt Romney on this or any other subject go visit Sarah Palin in Alaska. A few short years ago, she had a bridge going nowhere to sell real cheap. Who knows, maybe that bridge is still up for sale. Might ask Paul Ryan, too. Apparently he helped fund that particular bridge.

Mitt's campaign is going nowhere in much the same manner that Palin's "Thanks, but no thanks" bridge in Alaska went nowhere. He can't possibly walk back his 47%ers comments and still remain creditable. It was the first and only time Mitt Romney was actually telling the truth. Now he's simply grovelling to "get those votes" he finally realizes he absolutely needs.

I disavow Romney's disavowal of his remarks.
What Romney did yesterday was quick and in a hurry crawl through the gaping hole that President Obama mercifully left him by not bringing up that 47% remark (and others) during the debate. Romney saw the opportunity to quickly attempt take back what cannot be taken back so as to minimize the possiblity of the comment being brought up in the 2nd debate by the President. That is all.
No one, I repeat, NO ONE who stands by such a comment for as long as he did (five months in private and one month in public) has any remorse or regrets about said statements.
Americans (fortunately and due to the Republican belief that no one is paying attention to their outrageous behavior) are on to people like Romney who think that they can say one thing and do another. Or say two things today, and two other things tomorrow.
Accountability will be the name of the game November 6th. They've gone too far for too long.
Enjoy your yesterday Romney, because tomorrow is coming. Hell, tomorrow is here.
    Enough.
    Obama 2012.

Mr. Plouffe, as one of obama's advisors, why didn't you have him better prepared at the debate ? Also, obama should have brought that Up, during the debate, exposing what romney's true feelings really are. To be perfectly honest, with all the T.V. ads flying around the last several months, not to mention all the politics on T.V. + radio + social media, I honestly don't see how there are That Many "undecided" Voters. They may tell the pollsters that they are "undecided" but in reality, they know who they are most likely to Vote for.
Vote Democrat – 2012 ( for the "working" middle class)

If you truly have any concerns about the way Mitt Romney will govern, you can be reassured by his success as Governor of Massachusetts. These successes included turning around a difficult financial situation, implementing full coverage health care, improving the jobs numbers, driving education to being the best in the country and working closely with the opposing party to accomplish all of this. Can you imagine that?

  7. Facts Matter: Unemployment rate below 8%, GM is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead

It is getting more and more difficult to believe anything former Governor Romney says.

Raise your hand if you've ever been forced by your gf or wife to watch some terrible, crappy made-for-tv Lifetime movie and, after the protagonist woman finally leaves her abusive husband, the abusive husband does the exact same song and dance Mittens is doing about his "47%" comments. Yeah. Someone cue up Player's "Baby Come Back"....

Are you suggesting that we should forgive someone despite this being their modus operandi...as opposed to it being something that very infrequently happens? Sorry, but you scold your child and tell him not to do it again when he screws up. What do you do when the misbehavior becomes his only way of interacting with others? That's right: you send the little turd to therapy. Get help, Mittens. Get help.

I agree with what the message will be in November. Accountability. For the last 3 1/2 years of high spending and low results. Big promises and bigger excuses. And unproductive artisan political games at the expense of the middle class. Romney/ Ryan 2012.

Where is his disavowal to the 47% who want to legalize marijuana for recreational use? While Romney is busy protecting America with his war on the world, he is overlooking America's war on its own people.

LOL...yes, I certainly believe the white house and our current president when they tell me who is truthful and who is not. I have to or I am just a "tyical white woman"...ooops.... I forgot the same guy is protecting me from others who think less of me. ROFL If you need further proof that our coubntry is not controlled by others all you need to do is observe our president when he has neither a prompter or others to speak for him. Yeah...I wonder how many listened to the first three executive orders of this president. When he was asked what were in them, he deferred to others to answer the questions. I guess he should have deferred to others to debate as well. There is a pattern for anyone caring enought o see.

Well, based on the mans w-2 and the amount he gives to charity, I'd have to say his past speaks to be accurate- then again, how many here can claim the same??? Hmmmm. Obama has an accurate past...his focus is NOT the 100%. His w-2 also reveals he doesn't care for the poor as much as Romney- ahhhh...what good is a w-2 when it reveals such trivial things. But...But....but ...yeah, yeah, yeah. If you're looking for the perfect MAN (yes, women of america, we will protect you from the evil right but don't bother running for the top job- Hilary can tell you that- talk about a qualified person losing out to one less qualified but...oh ...he trumped Hillary being a MAN) don't bother voting becaue you WILL be disappointed (well, maybe not because for some reason people will only see the perfect in their chosen one.)

I almost feel bad for Mr. Romney. After his 47% quotes hit the media (along with all the other nonsesne from that video) he and his campaign: denied it, saying it was "out of context"; affirmed it, and went on to say that is what the candidate believed; took it a step farther drcrying the"state of dependency government aid creates". Now he is saying he loves and cares about all Americans. 4 differnt positions on this one item, this MONTH.

Either Mr. Romney thinks everyone is stupid, or he has no personal moral compass or belief system at all. These are not minor belief or position changes- the last one is a classic "foxhole conversion" if ever there was one.

Perhaps the problem with the Romney campaign is too many lies.
