Port St. Lucie, Florida (CNN) - Mitt Romney used a well-received debate performance to power his way through a three-day swing this weekend in Florida, where audiences seemed newly energized after his perceived victory over President Barack Obama.
Speaking to large crowds in St. Petersburg, Apopka and Port St. Lucie, Romney opened up his stump speeches by recapping his match-up against the president.

"We had a little debate earlier this week and I enjoyed myself," Romney told a roaring audience of roughly 10,000 in Port St. Lucie Sunday afternoon.
"You all had the chance to hear his answers - or his non-answers," he continued. "Now of course, days later we are hearing his excuses, and next January we'll be watching him leave the White House for the last time."
Another new staple of his stump speech: the stories of three Americans whose deaths touched Romney. The candidate spent time each day telling audiences about helping write a will for a 14-year-old with leukemia, as well as the death of a disabled friend.
"I know something about great human beings in this country," he said. "It's that that gives me the confidence that our future will be so bright, because I've seen how Americans respond to challenge, and even to tragedy."
On Monday Romney will give a foreign policy speech in Virginia, where he is expected to criticize Obama's handling of tumult in the Middle East.
"I commit to you I will be a leader," Romney told his supporters in Port St. Lucie Sunday. "When I'm president I will take the care that it takes to rebuild our principles and restore the principles that made America so strong."
Ann Romney also worked to humanize her husband when she introduced him Sunday.
The candidate's wife said the debate gave Americans a chance to see Romney "as I see him: a good and decent person, that throughout his life has exhibited his care for others. And now we're going to get a chance for him to really care for others because we're going to have the chance to see him get people back to work again."
the new decider... cant wait for his mission accomplished moment. think Obama is a bad president. the likes of what we will see with Romney will make Bush look like JFK. Cheney and Rove calling shots. its gonna be awesome. Bush was the reason Obama was elected. Romney will be the reason howdy doody is elected. We will be praying Obama was back in office when Romney is done. good times on the way...
Let Romney and his sons fight the next war!! Neither has worn the uniform of the fighting forces! Shameful and all should see through Romney's patrotic warmungering....
I can't imagine why anyone would vote for Romney. He is insincere and you've got to ask yourself why he doesn't WANT to release more taxes. How can we Americans accept this? He is also a bully, untrustworthy and uncaring (leaving a sick dog on a car roof, ugh!) A flip flopper who can't even take a stand on an issue (except tax cuts for the rich). An ultra rich, out of touch man with savings abroad – which proves a conflict of interest. How many of us have a foreign account ? Why would we want a person with a foreign account be the president for the 99% of us who don't? He is nowhere near our level to really care and u can't possibly expect him to. He even looks down on half of us. Wake up Amerrrrrriiccca. It is now up to us sound thinking Americans to stop this madness.
Yeah, Romney is really "caring" and "severely conservative" at the same time? That doesn't seem to reconcile!!!
"Probably the best way to understand Obama’s listless performance [in the debates] is that he was prepared to debate the claims Romney has been making for the entire campaign, and Romney switched up and started making different and utterly BOGUS ones. Obama, perhaps, was not prepared for that, and he certainly didn’t think quickly enough on his feet to adjust to it."
But we have been the Democrat/leftist marketing BS that Obama is the smartest person to ever inhabit the Whitehouse! Romney wasn't lying about anything but even if he was, you mean the Obama isn't bright enough to call him on it and prove his case?! In other words, Obama doesn't know jack squat and is rather dim witted. And this is the guy that is slapping the Russians on the leg telling them he can be "more flexible" after the election! Obama is an arrogant idiot that thinks he knows it all. The Russians will eat him alive, as they have already started doing.
Come on, enough with the lame Obama excuses. The dolt just doesn't know his stuff and is clueless without a prepared speech and a teleprompter. He is the biggest marketing scam ever perpetrated on this country.
Romney's lack of an integrity chip in his personal and ethical circuitry should by now be without doubt for anyone, anywhere. And yet so many are buying what he is selling. Getting out the vote is as critical right now as it has ever been in history. We stand to lose so much as a nation, for women, for healthcare, for middle class taxes. He is a scary, creepy guy with a greed for power and no true north on his moral compass. Oh and where are his tax returns please?
I just smell our Middle Class getting the shaft if Romney wins this election.
First off, his 20% "across the board" tax cut will NOT help most Americans if the FICA rate jumps back to 7.5%. (FICA is hardly a factor to the rich because of the cap.) Increase in FICA will wipe out Romney's cut for most of us.
Second – that 47% that currently pay no income tax? NO HELP from Romney's cut for them. And since they've always paid FICA, they're looking at an INCREASE in their federal taxes under Mitt, for he will surely let the current temporary cut expire.
That leaves only the rich. Let's take Romney, for example. With the current cap, his FICA rate on that $13 Million-dollar income is .0085% – not even 1/100th of a percent. So HIS 20% cut will be REAL. Add in his plan to further reduce capital gains rates and eliminate the estate tax, and it's a HUGE win for the Romney class.
Yup. We'll get screwed, alright. Amazing nearly 50% of Americans are ready to stick it to themselves – AGAIN.
"perceived victory" CNN????? Don't you mean absolute decimation of Obama??? I mean when they are portraying Obama as an empty chair on the cover of magazines, it is FAR MORE than a "perceived victory" for Romney.
I’m with Speaker Newt Gingrich; “Romney will do or say anything to become President”
What is his real agenda? It appears that he accuses Pres. Obama of everything he is doing? Being dishonest, flip flopping, not providing details on his plans?
Will the real Mitt Romney please stand up?
Romney claims we need to be leaders in the middle east yet the Republican party is trying to remove foreign aid. Romney claims the weak economy makes us week in the eyes of the world yet Republican policies are in part to blame for the weak economy. Romney claims the president does not lead but follows on foreign policy yet the rush to war caused under the Bush administration put us in a war that we should have not been in. I think sitting back and allowing allies to help is a wise policy. Lastly Romney claims the cuts to military spending will be devastating, however it was a bipartisan commission that agreed to disagree and have lead us to these cuts. So Mr Romney everything you have said today in your lovely speech still has not convinced me that Republicans should be in charge. Lets revisit economy collapsed and the Republicans spent four years of political capital using obstructionism to make the President look bad. In the famous words of GOP house leader "we will see in four years Mr President". Or Mich McConnell saying our "primary focus is to assure President Obama is a one term president". We have to ask ourselves what are the Republicans worried about if President Obama gets reelected? I cannot see handing back the direction of the country to Republicans until they show us they are responsible to the American people and not to the rich elite.
I have zero idea where Romney is at aside from that feel good thing. Nice but I don't beleive a leopard can chnge his spots
More tax cuts for rich guys...let's turn the middle class into drones-go Ronmey
Mitt can't keep speaking, sooner or later (and it will happen), "Willard" will speak (just as he did in the Florida video), and once more his actions and words will be bought into question. There is just no way he can win after his 47% remark, nor is there any amount of lies he can promise that will make people forget it. He should just go back to enjoying his "unemployment" and leave the business of the American people ALONE.
Thing is, if CNN would post the truth, Obama would be down the tank for good. It has been discovered that his campaign is doing nothing to stop foreign donors that the laws says is illegal!!!
Also, independent voters are for Romney 51 to 35!!! Sounds like a landslide brewing. All the Obama campaign can do is try to discredit Romney by saying everything he says is lies when, in fact, such has been proven, time and time again, not to be the case. Methinks Obama is running scared!! ROMNEY/RYAN 2012
Romney will say anything to win the election and looks like Obama wants to loose the election purposely. Disappointing!
romney was presidental obama was not when left on his own we get to see the real obama Romney 2012
I think it is amazing people will believe anything the flipflop , lying romney will say. just think how our allies will view him him if he is elected, just think how he will screw the middle class if he is elected, but people like joe scarborough, karl rove , dan senor think lying and misleading is great, how much integrity do they have?
