Fact Check: Was Obama 'silent' on Iran 2009 protests?

(CNN) – In what his campaign billed as a "major foreign policy speech" Monday, lasting about 20 minutes, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney took on President Obama's handling of protests in Iran after disputed elections three years ago.

Demonstrators were met with deadly violence by the government.

Hussein Obama supports the terrorists in the middle east. Financially and with air support he did just that and our Ambassador Chris Stevens (rest his soul) to Libya dead for his ignorance.

  4. HOLY TIGHTY WHITIES WILLARD

No he wasn't silent about Iran's protests. Willard consistently lies and distorts the truth. That should trouble everyone. He won't waste anytime committing American troops to intervention where ever on the globe.

Prince Harry and William both serve in their countries military, in fact Harry's in Afghan, does this make Romney's five(5) sons "Kings" or something as why they can't serve voluntarily. What's up with them?

Governor Romney is completely correct, Obama waited 6 days to comment (funny Obama also waited 6 days to visit New Orleans when it was hit by Hurricane Isaac) ""While Obama initially opted for a muted response".

Do Democrats think people forget these things???????

  9. ThinkAgain: Hey, networks, fact-check the debates in real-time and put it in the crawl!

@myviewis and other knee-jerk Obama-haters: Unlike Mittens, President Obama actually thinks before he shoots his mouth off. President Obama also got national security and other briefings, which Mittens didn't have regarding the Iranian protests.

Iran is a tinderbox; Mittens, who did everything under the sun to avoid serving in the military and whose sons have done the same, would have our country go to war at the drop of a hat. Our country needs a leader who can actually think things through, not some short-term Johnny who doesn't have a clue as to the long-term consequences of his actions.

    Obama/Biden 2012 = The only sane choice

@DEMOCRATS ARE IN FACT and yada yada: "Hussein Obama supports the terrorists in the middle east."

Oooooh, you used the President's middle name ... Ooooh.

Anyway, if President Obama is such a great supporter of terrorists in the Middle East, then please explain his order eliminating bin Laden and all the drone strikes that have decimated al Qaeda's leadership ...

    *crickets*

Pathetic to read all these Obama-haters trying to score political points off the murder of four U.S. citizens in Libya.

We you this vocal when GW Bush ignored the August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing warning that as Qaeda was determined to attack the US using airplanes – and opted instead to go on vacation in Texas?

    Hmmmmm?
