Obama: 'could not be prouder' of Biden debate

(CNN) - President Barack Obama called Vice President Joe Biden shortly after Thursday's vice presidential debate, and told reporters that he "could not be prouder" of his running mate.

"I'm going to make a special point of saying I thought Joe Biden was terrific," he told reporters after Air Force One landed near Washington. "I could not be prouder of him. I thought he made a very strong case. And you know I really think that his passion for making sure that the economy grows for the middle class came through so I'm really proud of him."

It is highly unusual for Obama to approach reporters in this fashion after deplaning.

Obama also posted a tweet to his official Twitter feed after the debate.

"Tonight proved once again that you won't find a better and more tireless advocate for the middle class than @JoeBiden. -bo #TeamJoe," he wrote.

Obama was to watch at least part of the debate while flying back from Florida, where he held an earlier campaign fundraiser in Miami.

CNN is calling this a draw???
Let's test this theory of this being a draw:
If you think JOE BIDEN WON THE DEBATE – HIT REPLY and write, "Biden"
If you think PAUL RYAN WON THE DEBATE – HIT REPLY and write, "Ryan"

This was not a draw – so let's see where it really stands. I'll post the results.

While on stage, Obama also thought he won the first debate. Even as his campaign was already on conference calls in damage control mode.

All American people are asking for are specifics but they can not get it because there are none. Romney and ryan can not deceive american people more than this. Romney is moving from right to center then back to right. I have never seen this type of inconsistency in a man who wants to be the president of the greatest empire today. This is unbelievable.

Ryan was demolished. Obama/Biden care about the Middle Class. Romney/Ryan only care about the 1%.

Even a Fox commentator said that it is hard to call someone a "friend" when you"re tearing him "a new one". I thought Biden did a very nice job. He did point out that Ryan was not answering questions. Even Palin hesitated on some her answers... after talking about something silly happening on the tundra.

The elephant in the room: Biden whines that money was cut from the state department budget. Ryan points out a Marine detachment is in Paris, but not Benghazi. We know now that the state department had enough money to buy overpriced Chevy Volts and charging stations, but not enough money to protect a diplomatic outpost in a known hot spot. The evidence is clear, this administration not only fails in policy, but critical thinking. So much for 'Joe's' superior IQ, eh?

Call it a draw. Biden was much more forceful than Obama was in his debate but I believe that he will come off as a little over the top. The most glaring fact from this debate was that Biden did not tell the truth on the Libya attacks. His comments completely contradicted testimony given in the House yesterday concerning what Intelligence officials told the Obama administration and also the embassy's request for increased security. This administration is not telling us the truth. America should demand it.

VP Biden is truely an advocate for the middle class. I wish all Americans could have seen that. The only respect left for Americans is that they still care for those left behind and trying to struggle for the American dream. Joe has shown that dignity and careness today at the debate. Ryan could explain precisely the policies that continue to put America behind while the rest of the world would like to learn that America cares.

Generically Joe Biden was being a classical VP and is constantly attacking Ryan to prevent any vulnerabilities from being exposed from his speech, however Congressmen Ryan's defence is equally if not alot more potent than Biden's speech. This causes a political stalemate and soon Biden will be out of words to attack with. Interrupting Ryan does not help at all.

Well done Joe Biden. I wish the media would have the courage to call out the lies and inconsistencies that Romney and his side kick Ryan have been telling. More disappointing is the cognitive dissidence that so many people adopt in believing them.
