Obama: 'could not be prouder' of Biden debate

(CNN) - President Barack Obama called Vice President Joe Biden shortly after Thursday's vice presidential debate, and told reporters that he "could not be prouder" of his running mate.

"I'm going to make a special point of saying I thought Joe Biden was terrific," he told reporters after Air Force One landed near Washington. "I could not be prouder of him. I thought he made a very strong case. And you know I really think that his passion for making sure that the economy grows for the middle class came through so I'm really proud of him."

It is highly unusual for Obama to approach reporters in this fashion after deplaning.

Obama also posted a tweet to his official Twitter feed after the debate.

"Tonight proved once again that you won't find a better and more tireless advocate for the middle class than @JoeBiden. -bo #TeamJoe," he wrote.

Obama was to watch at least part of the debate while flying back from Florida, where he held an earlier campaign fundraiser in Miami.

Ryan was full of hot air and Biden punctured his balloon. Biden is ready to be President while Ryan is a sham-but better than his Tax avoiding, draft dodging, job killing bigoted cult leader boss.

This administration is to late. Now it's time to get re-elected & it's now time to go to work 4 years later. To late- damage already done. Just sat on their a-s-s-e-s for 4 years & did nothing

What a duck and cover from the facts from Ryan. Every time she asked for specifics he hid like a coward. He shows poor leadership skills and I know i wouldnt trust him as 2nd in charge. Joe Biden showed passion and stated the facts/specifics. If Romney wins we the middle class will be screwed!!!! The rich will get richer and the middle class will tank!!!!

Biden is a disgrace. FACT CHECKER continues to show what Biden and Obama lie about. Obama said he would NOT run for a second term if he couldn't turn things around. LIE. The handshake of lies between the media, the President, and Vice President is nauseating.

  7. NC for Obama

Biden won the debate hands down. Ryan was robitic and tried to be cute – cute doesn't win the VP. When pressed by biden and the host, Ryan could not elaborate (much like Romney) on facts but kept spitting out the phrase "if you don't have a record to run on you paint yoru oppent as someone to run from". Ryan is a young gun who came to Washington with a premeditated agenda and he has pushed an economical agenda that has hurt th country and when Biden quoted him on the request for some of those "wasted" funds that he requested for Wisconsin he cold only smirk an try to make a joke. He covered by saying it was a grant – REALLY!!!!! VP Biden did exactly what President Obama should have done last week but will do this Tues, he took Ryan's best shot and came back and punched him in the mouth. Ryan, for as robitc as he looked started out well, very poised but when presssed for facts he had none and looked fluttered. For Ryan and the Romney/Ryan ticket, they thought last week's debate was the key to victory and tey had a plan but – and I quote Mike Tyson "everybody has a plan until you get hit in the mouth" – Ryan got a 1-2 combination jab to the mouth by BIDEN- GO JOE. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012

Actually I would disagree with James Rogers. Romney always had to get the last word, always had to put forward a reply even out of his turn. He was rude and disrespectful.

Biden returned the favor in a way. Yes he jumped in a lot but Ryan was spewing such BS. Did you hear his non-answers and no detail? He repeated lines that have been proven over and over to not be true.

Maybe if Ryan was honest with credible points the result would have been different. But when someone talks smack they need to be smacked.

  18. Republican until 2009

All the people voting for the Republican ticket should know that they are voting for a couple of stupid idiots. I am voting for the Democrats this time. Now I know that the biggest culprit of the US economic sadness was Ronald Reagan – and now his followers want to bring total collapse of this countries financial system. The worst catalyst of Reaganomics was Bush during his presidency. These hawks in the party have undone everything good that was done by Clinton. God bless America from these thugs.

Had the first debate been well-moderated like this one was, the outcome would have been much different. She did a magnificent job cutting both candidates off when they ventured into rehersed scripts instead of answering her specific questions. She tolerated a little bluster by both cadidates but was quick to move on when she felt that her question was being morphed into a different talking point. Cudos to the moderator!

Biden = RUDE, Out of Touch, Full of Malarkey
Ryan = Strong, Factual, and solid for the country
American People = Wake Up and see Obama 2016 in the theater near you
CNN = Good coverage, but still slanted to the LEFT
FOX = Always on the Right
MSNBC = So right, I thought I had a pine apple being put up my butt
CBS, ABC, NBC = Stop watching Chris Mathews, start watching Chris Wallace
Call someone in Ohio, Colorado, Virgina, Florida, and Michigan ... Tell them to VOTE Romney / Ryan

    Hey James R,

What presidential debate did you watch? I watched the one where Romney couldn't stop interrupting the president and wore a smile that reminded me of someone on coke or a case of red bull.

It's no surprise that obuma thinks biden won. That moron thought that he won his debate till the whole world told him that he failed miserably. biden looked like a senile idiot. Ryan was respectful, thoughtful, intelligent, and trustworthy. He is what this country needs. Strong moral conviction. Good ideas. Responsible governing. Clear winner!
