A glimpse into the campaign life of Mitt Romney

Louisville, Kentucky (CNN) - Mitt Romney doesn't have a lot of free time.

That's certainly no surprise as the 2012 race heads into its final stretch, but a copy of Romney's internal campaign schedule obtained by CNN offers a small glimpse into how tightly-managed the Republican's long days on the campaign trail have become.

– Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

– Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

The private schedule, provided to CNN by a source, outlines Romney's Oct. 10 tour of Ohio with minute-to-minute precision, from his 9 a.m. hotel departure in Akron to his 8:50 p.m. arrival at a Courtyard by Marriott in Dayton.

For an hour-long ride on his campaign bus between campaign events in Mount Vernon in Delaware, the schedule notes that "WMR will eat lunch and participate in calls during this drive."

That's "WMR" as in "Willard Mitt Romney."

Between 2:05 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. later that afternoon, staff reserved time for Romney to call his running mate Paul Ryan on the eve of his debate against Vice President Joe Biden.

"WMR will call PDR," the schedule notes.

Usually, these schedules are privy only to Romney advisers and campaign surrogates who join up with the Republican nominee on the road – in Wednesday's case, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

The schedule reveals little in terms of news.

But it does offer a window into the grueling routine of a modern-day presidential candidate - and the detailed planning that goes into coordinating a single day on the campaign trail for Romney, his advance team, top allies, state-level aides and a retinue of top advisers.

Read Romney's internal campaign schedule, with phone numbers redacted, here.

To be perfectly honest – I think it's all going to boil own to ohio & florida. ( not so much Va) It really doesn't matter to me who's gets In – or who's Out – I'm 57 yrs old – and I'm just about on the other side of the "curve" so to speak. But I'm voting a straigt Democrtic ticket. WHY ? because IF I was in my 20's – or 30's – or 40's – or even 50 – I would want a Democrat in Office – WHY, all you have to do is Listen to Biden's debate, is why. He's the one I would Trust, not a republican. If they get IN, believe me, forget about health care – I mean, you're going to end up going to the E.R. for everything. ( and I mean everything) not to mention waiting in line forever. LOL Can you imagine all the working class citizens waiting in line in the ER – with all the welfare people ? That's what you will end up with, if a republican gets in.

A glimpse into Obama's campaign would show him selling federal grants for campaign donations.

Like Rob-Me and Lyin' Ryan you give no specifics. You mean like the renewable energy grants Lyin' Ryan asked for because it would "create jobs"? He looked like the fool he is when Joe Biden called him out in the debate.

Do you suppose Romney's two trillion plus-up for ships and subs, not requested by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is a little pork for his contributors? Do you know what new naval battle groups cost? Nuclear subs? Who pays for that?

To those who rant about the use of AF1 and Marine 1, if the President uses those on a campaign related activity, the campaign must pay for their use... just as when they are used when the President uses them to go on vacation (which is duly deserved as it is for anyone who is an employee, which is what the President is).

Additionally, while Romney's schedule may be packed minunte-by-minute, this does not at all compare to the President who must do the same thing, but also be responsible for the world's greatest nation.... kind of like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.... Fred and Ginger could both dance great, but Ginger had to do it all backward and in heels.... try adding running a country into your packed schedule Romney and then let's see how packed your day is!

That is because he is NOT the President. Romney does have a Secret Service provided campaign bus, as well as Secret Service protection, provided by taqxpayer money.

Now that Romney is riding the momentum of a good debate, people forget about the rest of his campaign. Do people remember that Romney talked about his chance meeting with the SEAL who was killed in the Libya consulate attack, without checking with the family first? The meeting was an accident (Romney went to the wrong party). Romney mentioned it at political events, injecting the grieving family into a political campaign. To me the point is not whether the family supports Romney. Romney should have checked with the family first. Failing to check with the family first shows an appalling lack of courtesy and judgment. You don't invade the privacy of a grieving family.

Looking at the daily schedule for Ohio and mapping it on Google ,Romney is doing one big circle and ends up where he started.....fitting as this is all he does during his lying campaign...round and round he goes...where does he stop? Well he doesn't and won't stop until he robs everyone blind in America.

People of America listen up!!! Don't trust Mitt Romney, he's not going to help us, he's only going take us back to the Bush era. We don't need to go backwards!

@Larry in Houston: It is amazing that you would put your trust and faith in an administration with a proven "failed" track record: Unbridled spending, fast and furious debacle, failed foreign policy, no budget, investments ending up in bankruptcy, etc. etc. Everything this president touches turns to crap. Compared to a man who has a proven record of success. It is like putting your faith and trust in purchasing a lottery ticket compared to the sun rising in the morning. If you want to do the young people a favor, your would vote for Mitt Romney. Don't be stupid...

I would love to see President Obama's schedule too.
    -----------

CNN is pro-Romney and has been all year. It does't matter that Romney has a 10-1 "net positive" lead story everyday on CNN. Doesn't matter that CNN ratings tanked as a result of Romney All Day – Every Day. They're gonna stick by their guy until he officially loses on Nov. 6th.

what mitt should be doing is explaining the specifics of how he intends to pull off this wonderful debt reduction plan of his and releasing 12 years of his tax returns like Obama did. Stop wasting our time mitt and answer the fitness of character questions!!

If nothing else, taking away Medicare is detrimental to all...Romney&Ryan are wealthy so will never have to worry about paying for insurance in old age. Folks, imagine trying to find insurance to cover you at age 70 plus, what a horror story that will be. And their contempt for women is undeniable; telling a Pregnant woman whose life is on the line she CANNOT have an abortion to save her life is fascism at its best (see article from fellow Mormons on yesterday's Huffington Post).

@Canadian_Dem: Romney has not robbed anyone. He is an honest man with impeccable character and has given 1,000 times more to charity in one year than Biden did in one. In many of his assignments, he has not even taken a wage for his services. This administration are the robbers, taking your hard earned dollar and giving it to foreign countries in the guise of green energy. Investing it in failed solar projects, spending it on lavish living and vacations, giving loans to his cronies and receiving it back in campaign donations... So, you need to be honest with yourself and others and learn who Romney is and what a good person he is before you start spreading lies just to pacify your liberalism.

You can print and say all you want about Willard and he still won't get my vote. Just as he cares nothing for the 47% of us, I care even less for him, his VP, his wife and his five non-military brats.

@Mt: Romney and Ryan support abortion for the mother who's life is in danger during birth. Also for rape and incest. You need to listen, then you will learn. Open your ears and you may hear. But I think your liberalism is so embedded that you don't want to hear the truth...

"Romney must have a real challenge figuring out what his audience is and what version of his message he needs to give."

He calls it his Etch a Sketch. Apparently the media agrees and simply ignores the discreptancies. No doubt Candy Crowely will as well come Thursday. But, to your point: Mitt Romney IS challenged ... mentally. Anyone who can tell as many lies as he on cue has no business wanting the job he wants. Let him go play with his horses, his car elevators, his grandchildren. But dear God, leave the really hard stuff to the man we already have in office.

But the GOP has adopted the most radical anti-abortion and anti-birth control platform ever. IF YOU listened last night, I think Mr. Ryan pretty well said under a Romney/Ryan Adminstration abortion and Roe v. Wade are done.

Why vote for men who don't trust women?

No they don't. While mittens may have claimed such support while running against Senator Ted Kennedy, he's flipflopped so many times that anyone paying attention for more than five minutes is now suffering from serious whiplash! Lyin' OTOH, supports legislaton that would criminalize termination of pregnancy for ANY reason, including miscarrying a non-vital fetus.
