Biden: No 'character' comparison between Obama, Romney

(CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden said Saturday that this presidential election comes down to the two top candidates’ disposition, and on that, there is no comparison.

"Every presidential race always comes down to who the American people think possesses the character and conviction," he said at a fundraiser in Connecticut. "It will not surprise you on that score, I don't even think it's close between President (Barack) Obama and Gov. (Mitt) Romney."

Romney: Rates at friend Sen. Portman family's hotel 'a fleece'

(CNN) – Mitt Romney issued a warning to those in the market for a hotel room in southwestern Ohio: His friend might "fleece" you.

The Republican presidential nominee's light-hearted jab was directed at Sen. Rob Portman, who is helping Romney prepare for this month's debates by standing in as President Barack Obama. The two playfully traded words Saturday, when Portman toured the former Massachusetts governor of the historic Golden Lamb Inn, which his family owns, after a rally the GOP candidate's campaign claimed was attended by 10,700 people.

In Ohio, Romney, Ryan cast Obama as soft on China

Youngstown, Ohio (CNN) - Republican running mates Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan sought to cast the current administration as soft on China on Saturday, blaming Democratic President Barack Obama for skipping another opportunity to label China a currency manipulator.

"Over the past several years, the president's failed to call China a currency manipulator," Romney said at a rally in Portsmouth, Ohio. "He had the occasion on Friday to come out with that official designation. Do you know what they said? We're not going to make any determination until after the election."

Romney mailer vows to protect health care 'choice'

Richmond, Virginia (CNN) - The message on the front of the brochure looks like something Planned Parenthood might send out to potential supporters.

"It's your health," reads a strip of bolded text, placed just above an ominous-looking photo of two doctors in scrubs, shot from the perspective of an operating table. "Shouldn't it be your choice?"
