Richmond, Virginia (CNN) - The message on the front of the brochure looks like something Planned Parenthood might send out to potential supporters.
"It's your health," reads a strip of bolded text, placed just above an ominous-looking photo of two doctors in scrubs, shot from the perspective of an operating table. "Shouldn't it be your choice?"

But this isn't a mailer from abortion rights supporters or President Obama's re-election campaign. It's a new mail piece in Virginia from Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, an abortion opponent.
The choice on the table this November, the inside of the brochure argues, is a choice between government-run "Obamacare" that will stunt job creation and raise taxes, and "real, patient-centered reform" that will give states and patients more freedom and flexibility.
"Barack Obama puts government's well-being before Virginia's health," reads the mailer, which was received this week by a voter in Richmond and provided to CNN. "Mitt Romney believes it's your choice."
The back side of the mailer quotes Romney from his press conference after the Supreme Court upheld Obama's health care reform law.
"This is a time of choice for the American people," he said at the time. "If we're going to get rid of Obamacare, we're going to have to replace President Obama. My mission is to make sure we do exactly that."

That's funny, the only insurance I can get it through my job and it sucks. Needless to say its not my choice. The Affordable Care Act will give me choices, better choices, cheaper choices. The Invisble Hand of the Free Market has screwed me over. The millionaire Romney doesn't have a clue how the real world lives.
This is getting ridiculous. "Obamacare" is nearly identical to "Romneycare", so Romneycare was a government takeover??? And as far as "choice" goes, Romney and the GOP are the most anti-choice politicians in history. Not only do they want to strip women of their civil and health care rights, they want to give more power to insurance companies, who will do everything in their power to make sure you have no choice but to pay them dearly. If people don't have Medicare defined benefits for their health care and only have the Romney voucher to try to pay for an annual health insurance premium, if they cannot come up with an extra $8000 or so to add on to it to buy their policy each year, then their choices for health care services will be slim to none. What good is an $8000 voucher if you cannot pay for the entire policy.
More and more lies – the man has no core values. Romney obviously doesn't think that character counts. He is the most prolific political liar ever.

Doesn't seem to me like we had much of a choice of healthcare before the ACA. An illusion of choice, sure. One that Americans love to hold onto at the expense of actual healthcare.
You are correct Romney, it SHOULD be your choice...i.e. birth control and abortion. You want to take away the rights women fought so hard to get 40 years ago.

1. end of democracy
2. indication that anyone can buy this reach country's poor democratic institution with extra money

I don't trust him 2 feet. Why is 80% of Massachusetts voting against him? They know him best.
What choice? I can only afford catastrophic insurance. I can't afford insurance that allows me to see a doctor when I feel ill. And should something catastrophic happen to me, the 20% I'll have to pick up will leave me penniless for the rest of my life. ObamaCare helps, but it's far from what's needed. Romney would seek to pull that little bit of help away. My husband is now benefiting from Medicare. But is it free for him? Of course not... he PAID into it all his working life, he still has to contribute about $100 from his social security check to cover Plan B, and then he pays about $175 for a supplemental policy that would keep us from going under financially if he had a serious illness (because Medicare is otherwise a basic 80/20 plan). So his "free" Medicare costs us over $275 a month. I would love to someday see this country grow out of its Third World mentality when it comes to health care for its citizens... but I have little hope with the conservative masses believing the ridiculous propaganda from the extreme right.
It's curious that the Romney camp uses "choice" as the catchword for this mailer, since they & the entire GOTP are on record wanting to take away womens safe, legal choices, including contraception, if you ask Ryan! We have insurance choice right now, but it has worked Against consumers & For insurance companies, which get rich & powerful while denying treatments & turning away those w/pre-excisting conditions! Our country has been 1 of the few modern nations w/out Universal Healthcare for all! Now that we finally have it, they of course want to repeal! Why is that? Insurance lobby? Or an effort to keep people down? Romney says he'll replace it w/something better, more competitive & good for business, because government should not tell people how to manage their healthcare! Except when it comes to a womans choice & management of her reproductive system, that is! Obama, Next 4!!

Romney provides a choice all right. You can die at home or in the emergency room.
Romney's plan is free market which means insurance companies control the product. Health insurance is not like buying a car or tv. The seller has the control and drives the price. Consumers don't have the luxury to shop around. The Republicans try to sell this but it is a myth. Do you really think insurance companies are going to trip over each other to insure our elderly or provide insurance for those with pre-existing conditions? If you do, you are very naive.

When Medicare Advantage was turned over to private insurers, we were promised the competition would lower costs.
Ten years later, the Congressional Budget Office data shows it costs Medicare $500 billion and did not provide any better care.
