Springsteen to rock the campaign trail

(CNN) – Two very high profile surrogates will be campaigning for President Barack Obama in the crucial battleground states of Ohio and Iowa next week.

The Obama campaign announced Saturday morning that former President Bill Clinton and rock star Bruce Springsteen will team up in Parma, Ohio on Thursday to stump for the president.

Later on Thursday, Springsteen will appear in Ames, Iowa, the campaign said.

Clinton, meanwhile, will continue on to an event in Steubenville, Ohio.

"Bruce Springsteen's values echo what the President and Vice President stand for: hard work, fairness, integrity," Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement. "His appearances will help with our get out the vote effort in these critical swing states and we are thrilled with his ongoing support."

Springsteen appeared, and performed, at rallies in 2004 for Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, that year's Democratic presidential nominee, and in 2008 for Obama. But he had said as late last month that he wouldn't be performing in the 2012 election.

The appearance of the former president is no surprise though. He's been a very high profile surrogate for Obama this year.

Both campaigns have been spending a lot of time and money battling for Ohio's 18 electoral votes.

Ohio was the state that put President George W. Bush over the top in his 2004 re-election. Four years later Obama carried the state by five points over Sen. John McCain. But the Republicans performed well in the Buckeye state in the 2010 midterm elections, winning back the governor's office and five House seats from the Democrats.

A new CNN Poll of Polls that averages the three non-partisan, live operator surveys in Ohio conducted entirely after the first presidential debate indicates a very close contest, with Obama at 50% among likely voters and Romney at 47%.

Iowa has six electoral votes and went for Obama in 2008 and Bush in 2004. Polling conducted before the first presidential debate showed a close race there with a slight advantage for Obama.

I don't get it. Why is Ohio even thinking of voting for super rich Romney? Ohioans are viewed as working class people. Do they want to lose their jobs to the Chinese? Romney's investments in companies did just that. Moved to China. He didn't care about Americans then, and in reality he doesn't care about Americans now. People are just being blind-sided by a politician. Go Get 'Em Bruce

What a dissapointment...Obama is THE Wall Street President. He was put into office by Goldman Sachs and filled his administration with cronies from Wall Street. He gave BILLIONS to the bankers and he murders men, women and children with drone strikes.

Barack Obama is a puppet of the super rich, he is NOT a friend of the working man. And sad to say, neither is Bruce Springsteen.

Interesting, Springsteen claims he is self taught. Sorry Bruce, somebody else made you a musician.

Just watch the Democrat-sim of Biden during the debate, this is how Democrats act, all of 'dem no exceptions.

WHen the VP acts like a classless jerk void of any decency, respect, and integrity, obviously the Democrat drones will mimic, so you have teachers like the one in Phillly screaming and spitting in the face of students, encouraging the student to be bullied by the whole class just for wearing a Romney shirt.

Check your heart, if you find some decency then you have a moral obligation to vote Republican. Watch Biden in the debate again, read about the millions of Democrat death threats against every and any American who is not an Obama supporter.

Even Obama said that every American who doesn't vote Democrat is the enemy and he wants to punish them. His words, check his Univision interview in 2010. These are facts, Democrats only have attacks.

Poor Joe.. stuck in the denial syndrome. Obama will win re-election, life will go on, the economy and unemployment will get better and you will still be spewing the same tired rhetoric.
