Biden laughs in new Romney ad

(CNN) – The Romney-Ryan campaign wants the last laugh with its new ad released Sunday that features Vice President Joe Biden laughing while his Republican challenger describes the country’s economic challenges.

The contrasting footage - the vice president's laughter and his Republican challenger's serious tone - is from this week's vice presidential debate.

"We can't keep spending and borrowing like this. We can't just keep spending money we don't have," Congressman Paul Ryan says in the ad, while Biden can be seen and heard laughing.

"Did they come in and inherit a tough situation? Absolutely. But we're going in the wrong direction! Look at where we are. The economy is barely limping along."

A CNN-ORC International poll released after the debate suggested voters who watched narrowly favored Ryan over Biden by 48%-44%, a statistically even result factoring in the poll’s 5% percent margin of error. That followed Mitt Romney’s overwhelming victory in their first of three debates.

Some, such as CNN Senior Political Analyst David Gergen, characterized Biden's laughter as "dismissive," and said Ryan appeared "calmer and, frankly, more presidential."

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said he "was embarrassed for the vice president," while President Barack Obama's campaign manager Jim Messina said Biden "got past Paul Ryan's index card talking points."

The new campaign ad features Ryan making the point during the debate that Obama and Biden have been ineffective handling the economy. Ryan argues his running mate would be more competent.

"Mitt Romney is uniquely qualified to fix these problems," Ryan says.

The Romney campaign did not say where or when the spot will run. It also did not reveal how much it will cost to run their ad.

if this were a student council debate then maybe ryan could be considered the winner, by only firing platitudes, but considering he offered no specifics whatsoever, how could he be considered a "winner"?

I saw the Ad. It just shows Biden laughing while Ryan was talking. Nothing like the real debate. Just another try by Romney/Ryan, to not take and acual stand on their positions. When ask str8 out by the Moderator would the Mortgage deduction be off the table Ryan passed the question, then Biden asked the same question, Ryan passed the question again. I guess if you are currently using the Mortgage deduction you can count on losing it.. Because Ryan's answer not saying NO, in the case saying nothing to me says YES it is one of the lope holes. If you are paying a 20% tax rate and $8000 a year on mortgage interest, your taxes just went up $1600.

Are we seriously Talking about Biden's facial expressions and smirking! Biden clearly clobbered Ryan with facts! Ads at this point in the Game are irrelevant. Fox News and CNN are in bed with the Romney Camp and People know. Romney and Ryan are Long on verbage and Short on facts. Ryan's debate Performance was rhetoric from the campaign stump Sprinkled in with a couple of practiced zingers. It appears that CNN has a dog in this fight- Romney. I didnt trust their debate poll for One Second. CNN is no better than Fox News! Thank god for MSNBC.

"We can’t keep spending and borrowing like this. We can’t just keep spending money we don’t have,” ... Have Romney/Ryan thought out who is going to pay for all the babies? No birth control, no Planned Parenthood, Medicaid or county clinics left. The new hospital in my neighborhood doesn't have a maternity ward. Using the emergency room without insurance might not work anymore.

New motto for the Republicans: You sperm, you pay. Under personhood, Daddy's financials are at risk. Guess there are gifts after
menopause. Sure will end cheating husbands and lovers having sex with any woman between the ages of 14-50. Whoo-Hoo!

So Romney wants to make this personal? Do we need reminding of his idiotic smirk during his debate, or how he kept batting his eyelids like a starstruck teen? Or do we need to make fun of how similar Ryan looks to Eddie Munster or Goober from The Andy Griffith Show? Is that where this is going to go? When you have no plan, and you're running out of lies, there's always personal attacks, right GOP? Bunch of worthless sub-human is all they are.

Romney seems strong and forceful! This is a good thing because CNN says so! Biden seems strong and forceful! This is bad because he seems arrogant and combative!

Romney was lying through his teeth and Obama was reserved and it cost him. Ryan was lying through his teeth, got called on it exactly the way we wanted in the Obama debate and Biden is criticized.

CNN your "balanced" coverage is a joke. Btw, nice snap poll. It looks like you were watching a different channel then the rest of us and apparently your undecideds were too.

I am amazed that Biden controlled himself as much as he did. How could Biden or anyone else not be amused and laugh at the ridiculous statements and lies coming out of Ryan's mouth. Ryan was coild, plastic, uncaring and on many issues not knowledgeable. He also could not give any specifics on his numbers plan which does not and could add up to make any rational sense whatsoever.
