Sen. Portman: 'Wouldn't want to risk' Romney losing Ohio

(CNN) – Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, said Sunday that he thinks Mitt Romney could win the presidency without winning Ohio, but wouldn't want to take the chance of losing it.

"You can probably win the presidency without Ohio but I wouldn't want to take the risk and no Republican has," Portman said on ABC's This Week.

Portman has been assisting Romney with debate preparation, playing the role of President Barack Obama. He has also hit the campaign trail with Romney in Ohio.

The latest CNN Poll of Polls in Ohio shows Obama leading Romney among likely voters, 50%-47%. The CNN Poll of Polls is an average of three Ohio polls of likely voters conducted after the first presidential debate. According to polls conducted in Ohio last month, Obama had a seven to 10 point lead.

"We're doing great in Ohio," Portman said. "And the momentum is on our side."

Is that why republicans like Portman have blatantly came out saying they'll do whatever necessary to get Romney the win, voter supression ,fraud included because they're not going to win it legally...Floridas Rick Scott trying to get three liberal justices thrown off the bench so he can change the voter laws, isn't that a bit extreme, treasonistic ,not to republicans who've done this in Florida before for Bush twice with wins over Gore,Kerry both were rigged and the people of Florida knew it,so did the nation!!Ask Nathan Sproul about his highly paid contract to do just that in 8 states with voter supression, voter fraud just recently caught in Florida,he should go to jail but the republicans pockets are deep keeping him out, democracy ha,republicans think that's a dirty word just ask them if they even know what its meaning!!

Romney proves we can’t trust him!

As Politifact has shown, Romney has told more total lies than Obama.

And, Fact Check dot org says that Romney told more lies at the Presidential debate than Obama, and Romney came off as a “serial exaggerator.”

Let us wait for the debate, town hall format, where voters will ask questions unexpected.
Mitt why you have so many foreign accounts? Mitt why you refused to show us the voters your
    tax return.

Sensata – Bain moving hundreds of good U.S. jobs to China – the U.S. employees have to train the Chinese employees who have come over to Sensata in Illinois to learn the ropes, or they will not get their final benefits, and the Chinese came and took down the U.S. flag and hoisted the Chinese flag. Bain will make huge profits off this and so will Romney as he still gets retirement and other benefits for life from Bain. Romney isn't fooling the middle class working folks. We have seen people like him ship millions of jobs to other countries for the past 30 years and they have become the top 1% . They have done it for 30 years and they will keep on doing it, Romney included.

Did all of you know those car companies who were bailed out went through a managed bankruptcy anyway. Romney just said it out loud vs telling you what you wanted to hear. Vote for Obama so you can go stand in a soup line in the next four years...that sounds like a great plan.

As Cntrrealist says, all those car companies who were bailed out went through a managed bankruptcy anyway.

Romney was trying to not add to the deficit by his suggestion. You have the auto companies regroup by using the private managed bankruptcy which is available to them. This is used as as an accounting practice in the business world. It is acceptable as a means for companies to reorganize, restructure, and recoup their companies. They come back healthy and strong.

The burden is not placed on the federal government for a bail out, or to place it in a stimlus bill where the money could be placed elsewhere. The burden reverts back to the lending institutions and the company. In the end the auto companies would have been fine. There was a different approach to their situation without adding to the Deficit.

Talk about being brain washed by Obama! He is doing exactly what he set out to do and that's make our country weaker in every way. Continued high unemployment which he promised would be low after getting more stimulus money, cut money in military when terrorism is at its highest and Biden claims its controlled and we no longer are in danger! And higher taxes on middle class if he gets re elected so we can be more dependant in government !! Everybody watch his movie these are the dreams from his father... Wake up before its too late ... Romney may not be my first choice but its still a better choice than Obama!

In fact it is not only Pres. Obama who will put Romney to the task, but also the undecided who are going to place questions to him. They heard him during the GOP primaries, they have heard him during his campaigns, they have seen ads in comparison of what he said in the past and what he says now, they heard him in the last debate. Tuesday debate will be something no one should miss to watch.

Romney has to eke out a win there......or it will simply not be possible to win the election.

That's going to be a tall order, for a republican candidate, in a Democratic Party, historically union, state, where the union bosses tell people how to vote.

Let's just hope that people are smart enough to ignore their union bosses.

Unless you are a legitimate liberal democrat who has no choice but to support the left...if you are a true american and you have witnessed the lack of leadership by President Obama the last 4 years....the focus on shoving healthcare down our throats when over 54% of Americans did not approve of it, at a time when we SHOULD have devoted all of our time to creating jobs and fixing our economy....but I guess the administration knew they could keep blaming Bush and past policies....well guess what, that time has run out. We are worse off as a country than we were 4 years ago with the increase in poverty, increase in food stamp dependent americans, lack of job creation, and lack of small business growth......If you only look at Mitt ROmney's record as a Governor in a BLUE state, his record at Baine Capital (by the way, go into your nearby SPorts authority or DUane reade and ask the stock boy if they realize they have a job bc of Mitt ROmmey), and his record of turning around the Olympics when everyone said it couldn't be done....give the man a shot. THis is exactly what we need right now as a country.

Obama can run on his record of "ordering" an attack on Bin Laden and getting all the credit for an operation that was carried out by our wonderful and underappreciated Seals or bailing out the auto industry (knowing he would need to win Ohio in 2012 to be re-elected)...but beyond that, he has no record and it's time to stop listening to the nonsense speeches and the wonderful and glorious talk about how we should continue to move "Forward" bc it's a bunch of horse crap.

Romney said he'll keep taxes low for the rich and decrease taxes for corporations and that will decrease the deficit. Romney said "corporations are people", he may be right because it's the rich who own corporations and by decreasing taxes on both the rich get double tax decreases and the middle class Americans pay. Obama says increase taxes on rich and decrease taxes on corporations and the middle class doesn't carry the burden. When corporations like the auto industry get in trouble it's easy for Romney to say "let them go bankrupt" because it doesn't hurt the rich because Romney says "the rich are doing fine", but it hurts the middle class and working families. Romney can't be trusted.

As a resident of Governor Romney’s BLUE state of Massachusetts I have to agree with Anonymous. Governor Romney inherited a severe deficit and left office with a good surplus. I do not know where people are getting this idea that he left us in a mess. Romney cleaned up the mess in Massachusets.

As Governor he worked with a democratic senate and house and accomplished many good things for our state. He was an accomplished leader with a ‘Get it Done’ attitude. And Mitt Romney delivered.

That Governor Romney would not be able to lead as a President and not get the job done is difficult to see after his successful administration here in MA.

I just LOOOOOVE my President, he is a good man regardless of what angry talk show host like Rush Limbaugh, Shaun Hannity and others try to paint him as. If Romney was so special to the republicans why didn't he win they're nomination in the last election against McCain. They thought that McCain could win. Now it's Mitt Romney, I guess they are looking for any one they think they can push around. Whatever works or shall I say whoever works. Romney tried to become they're attack dog in the first debate and he got rave reviews for it but when vice president Joe Biden did it against his opponent Paul Ryan they had a problem with it. GO GET HIM JOE! PRESIDENT OBAMA 2012
