Washington (CNN) - Maybe Mitt Romney's campaign team isn't so bad after all.
After months of criticism, much of it from fellow Republicans, the machine managing Romney's presidential bid has him gaining support in the final weeks of the race.

If you thought the first debate was a smackdown, you ain't seen nothing yet. Romney held back in the first debate. He will open up with both barrels tomorrow night. Obama will be down by 10% in the polls by Friday. And then after the third debate about foreign policy, well the whole Libya situation will crush the empty suit Obama into a mumbling pile of pooh.

You're supposed to shake the Etch-A-Sketch, not crack it open and snort the iron filings.
You won't see the President allowing Romney to lie like he did in the first debate. He now knows civility is a bad plan when dealing with a spoiled brat like Romney.
Mitt is pretending to be a moderate now and hoping the right-wingers won't notice – but his lack of character is clear. He has flip-flopped on every issue. He called disabled veterans, people living on Social Security, and the unemployed part of the 47% "not worth worrying about". He was a draft-dodger – but now a chicken-hawk rattling sabers and trying to gets votes from those who think war is a game. He plans to kill Medicare and Social Security because the ultra-wealthy don't care about those programs. They see both as a financial "bird's nest on the ground" when Romney gives them to Wall Street. His Etch-A-Sketch lies are not to be believed. Romney is Bush – with less character.

Well said Sniffit. I don't trust Candy Crowley one bit. If she was credible, she would ask some hardball questions to her GOP ran State of the Union show. We didn't think the first debate was a smackdown. Those of us following the race PRIOR to the debate were VERY AWARE that Romney did not hold back, ran his mouth off in front of 70 MILLION people and ONCE AGAIN, FLIP-FLOPPED on his positions. In reality – tho' most of you right wing nuts have yet to figure it out – Willard toasted his own buns at that debate. He will now be held to EVEYTHING he said during that 90 mins. Obama doesn't need to tear into him, the post-debate media analysis will do that handsomely. Mittens had better be careful.
@truth hurts – Romney was NEVER as far down as the polls portrayed him. Obama has shown the country who and what he really is with his failed leftist policies, hate and division and now incompetence in foreign policy and protecting our personnel overseas. And after that disastrous empty suit first debate, the country is ready to send him on his way to Chicago and get somebody that is a PROVEN LEADER in the Whitehouse. The long disastrous 4 year inexperienced community organizer experiment is finally coming to an end.

Obama doesn't know HOW to be aggressive in a constructive manner in a face to face debate. He's a whuss that is used to attacking people in teleprompted speeches or TV ads but has never done it in person because he's an empty suit and knows he'll get his head handed to him on a platter. In other words, he can't take a punch! An empty suit with a glass jaw.
Do people really understand what Mitt Romney will do? If you know people whose salaries are not enough for them to get good housing, food, fuel, day care for their children, health insurance, etc. then just give this administration 6 months and you might find yourself in the same position. All of the safety nets will be gone. Plans will be made for a voucher system for medicare – just try to find reasonable insurance rates. Social security will begin to be privatized. Mr. Romney will be vacationing in one of his four homes. The military members and family members who found support with the Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden will be gone. We will be sending more troops into Afghanistan and become involved in Syria and Iran. THe cost of the military will skyrocket and will mean that many other programs will be cut or given over to the states which are already in the red. Good luck!
