(CNN) - President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney battle it out for the second time when they take the debate stage Tuesday at Hofstra University in New York.
Moderated by CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, the event marks the second of three debates between the two candidates before Election Day.

The President did not blame Hilary. He was big enough to say the buck stopped with him, no lying Republican would have had the guts to admit that. Hilary is woman enough to speak for herself and if she said she should be blamed then I doubt she would let any man change her mind.

Wow...came on here to get perspective on how the debate is going. I guess I should have expected with CNN to see more support for Obama. It's like visiting the away team's website...but come on...all I see here is ripping down Mitt Romney...Just like President Obama...ripping down Romney to mask his own shortcomings over the last four years. I'm surprised no one has noticed with pointing fingers at Romney to provide details...that with the smoke and mirrors created by Obama...we are not hearing his specificities on how he will turn things around or his plans? ...but it makes sense...when you do not have realistic success in numbers to back your experience in 4 years on the job...you have a choice to play the blame game or hold yourself accountable...admit and provide answers...What I have seen here is remnants of sarcasm and negative commentary...so old and yesterday, just like Obama. If that was your goal...this blog has succeeded. It takes guts to admit and hold yourself accountable...or just take the easy route and point fingers or insult the other candidate or the past for where we are today. The President chose the most difficult job...in any corporate job...after four years...we really need to focus our attention on what the next four years will look like from both candidates...to make sure we make the best possible selection we can possibly make. Scary to think we find time focusing on the drama than the real issues...

No company would continue to employ someone who was bankrupting their company, played golf more than they worked and spent the companies money in such a reckless manner. The president is our employee, why would we continue to employ him!
I have a plan for all of you in favor Obama's new tax plan. As a business owner with over 400 employees, with the tax rate increase on my business I will be laying off 25% of my staff to compound the increase. I will not be the only business forced to do so. Think of your families

Frightened to see the democratic process pushed to the side!!! Tonight, we saw the President give a stellar performance as the townhall BULLY!!! Not presidential! He over talked and was allowed to take his time and Mr. Romney's time. We are SUFFERING as an American people and need relief. Life is harder now than it was four years ago! Does your bank account have more money in it than four years ago
Is your job more secure than four years ago
Do you feel safer today in the US than you did four years ago
If the answer is no then, you have just answered which candidate you should vote for!
Tax incentives Romney talking about was a bill in Congress they obstructed. Get this man off the stage.
Candy needs to be more forceful about turns and time limits. There is alot of disrespect from Romney!! Romney, arrogant presidents only take us to war because they don't listen, therefore they are not good negotiators. This isn't just about you, but rather the American people (All 100%) !!! I'm a military spouse and I want a president who is for the poor, middle class and the rich, now that's American!!!!! Romney is argumentive and has no substance!

Agreed entirely Hal, we do need government through consensus because we are all in the same boat in the end. Good luck with that happening in the near future. As long as people play the "us" v. "them" game divide and rule will continue to be the modus operandi, whether it is in the U.S., Britain, or anywhere else.

The Cnn monitor is unable to control this debate, Obama is way over his time 4+ minutes. She needs to equalize the time better. The debates are for all parties to get their messages across equally.
Obama can't justify his policies. You can't keep blaming Bush. Take some responsibility for what you HAVE NOT done for the past 4 years. If anyone votes for Obama we are in for more of the same and that will not be good! Wake up people. Haven't you had enough!
