Obama on debate day: 'I feel fabulous'

(CNN) – Hours before his second matchup with Mitt Romney, President Barack Obama told reporters his spirits were high going into Tuesday's town hall-style presidential debate.

"I feel fabulous," Obama said as he strolled through the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he has spent the last three days preparing for Tuesday's debate. The president was walking alongside David Plouffe, a White House adviser, and Anita Dunn, his former communications chief who is playing CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley, the debate's moderator, in the president's practice sessions.

Watch CNN's coverage of Tuesday's presidential debate starting at 7 p.m. ET on CNN TV, CNN.com and via CNN's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. "Look at this beautiful day," he continued, before telling the reporters, "I hope you enjoy the weather."

On Monday, the president's campaign released a photo of first lady Michelle Obama holding up an Illinois absentee ballot. Asked by reporters if he knew his wife voted for him, Obama smiled and said, "Thank goodness."

He did not respond to a question about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking responsibility in a CNN interview for the safety of American diplomats following the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed the American ambassador.

Mr. President, facts and truth are your kryptonite. You seem to get weak and confused when they are in the same room with you.

Romney has been running around telling one lie after another and getting away with it. Time to call him out Mr. President, and hold him accountable. It's a target rich environment.......just pick out a few of his most blatant lies and expose them for what they are.......Romney will fold and all the air will escape from his balloon.

Crtical Thinking, you missed your target. All you said goes to Mitt Romney the flip flopper and liar and not Obama. Unlike him, Obama is truthful and honnest with the American people, not Mitt who shift positions like a girouette.

I love CNN, but i think it has not been fair to the president. It always gives the first word of analysis to the republican biased David gergen, and what do you think? he is going to say Obama this Obama that, did not well.. and because of this biased position, so manytimes other panel members are forced to go along with him. I think this is wrong, you should at least give the first choice to Gloria Borger because she is always neutral.

The only way the President can win is by skirting around his track record. Romney needs to focus on the big issues which is the economy, our debt, and foreign affairs.

The President has failed our nation as its leader. Clearly when he stated the buck stops at you, he means who do I blame today for my poor performance. Yesterday, it was Hillary Clinton – even though the Libyan terrorist and she was in charge but our President is ultimately in charge. The buck stops at him.

"The buck stops here" something you said in a interview taking responsibility for a presidency and a administration. Yet your buck always stops at someone else when you point the finger at them. 4 years of failed policies & a campaign of finger pointing w/ no accountability. You haven't spent one minute telling us how your next 4 years will be any different from your failed past 4. The only thing you have gone into detail about is how its Romney's fault and how Romney lies. Your Obama groupies may not hold you accountable and they may believe your empty promises. But America is smarter than that. And AMERICA DESERVES BETTER!

I'll be praying for you Mr. President and our country, that we don't fall into the greedy, undeserving hands of the Ryan/Romney ticket.

P.S. You were again very wise in not answering about the Libya situation as they are only trying to get something negative out there before the debate.

David Gergen is on Romney's payroll as a political consultant. Therefore, Romney will always be declared the winner. Gergen's vote is already bought and paid for.

Please Mr. President give us this day. Mitt is always for war when in fact he would not enlist or allow his sons to enlist to fight for America based on his religion. This is hypocrisy at the highest level. Mr. President do not give him any chance to lie. Call him out on any lie immediately he opens his mouth to lie.
