Obama on debate day: 'I feel fabulous'

(CNN) – Hours before his second matchup with Mitt Romney, President Barack Obama told reporters his spirits were high going into Tuesday's town hall-style presidential debate.

"I feel fabulous," Obama said as he strolled through the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he has spent the last three days preparing for Tuesday's debate. The president was walking alongside David Plouffe, a White House adviser, and Anita Dunn, his former communications chief who is playing CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley, the debate's moderator, in the president's practice sessions.

Watch CNN's coverage of Tuesday's presidential debate starting at 7 p.m. ET on CNN TV, CNN.com and via CNN's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. "Look at this beautiful day," he continued, before telling the reporters, "I hope you enjoy the weather."

On Monday, the president's campaign released a photo of first lady Michelle Obama holding up an Illinois absentee ballot. Asked by reporters if he knew his wife voted for him, Obama smiled and said, "Thank goodness."

He did not respond to a question about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking responsibility in a CNN interview for the safety of American diplomats following the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed the American ambassador.

Time to take off the gloves Mr. President. Tonight is going to be a bare knuckles fist fight. Here are something I would like to know from Willard M. Romney

    1. How would a President Romney pay for another war?
    2. Explain why he thinks the middle class makes $250,000 a year.
    3. Explain why he thinks us old people are on welfare.
    4. Why a person that sent jobs to China deserves to be president?
    5. Explain why he is to good to post tax returns for the last 10 years Actual returns not a note from his tax person.
    6. Why he and his sons have never served in the military.

After president Obama is elected to a well deserved second term, the agenda of making him a "one term president" will fail flat then Congress will start doing the people's business. " I wish he fails " should not be forgotten. These are their words, and now they stand before you to tell you how miserable he fails. Wake up and see that Bin Laden is gone so is code red, blue etc, the economy is going in the right direction, woman are proud to see a responsible potus who cares about them, auto industry is alive and prosperous.

can't wait to Vote a straight ticket down here – I already know my Vote is like a grain of Sand, on a Huge Beach, but it will feel good – just to go & Vote . That's what a lot of people here in this state don't care, because they think their vote won't count much. Too bad we don't have Ann Richards anymore – She was the best this state ever had. Look up her name on google. She had a record that would make Perry look like a school boy.

    Me,
Romney is lying because what he promises is mathematically impossible. You can't cut taxes and expect the revenue to increase, unless there are more taxpayers. There is no evidence that tax cuts lead to job creation. Companies have been doing well the last few years. Look at the Dow. It hit a 5-year high last month. Have companies started hiring? Not really. At least not enough. Companies don't start hiring because they have extra money lying around. They hire new employees if the new employees will boost their business, not because they have extra money.

When tax-cut supporters argue that more tax cuts will lead to more jobs, they fail to consider that rich people, also known as job creators, can just keep the tax cuts and stash the money in their Swiss bank accounts or overseas tax havens. Then when they run for president they will just hide their tax returns so that no one will know. You know, just like Mitt Romney.

Wow...CNN's Candy Crowley is doing the next debate...after seeing what happened with the Vice President debate, What could possibly happen tonight? Think Romney will get a fair shake from Candy or will it be like the VP debate with Obama constantly smilling and giggling and interrupting his opponent and then the moderator doing nothing about it. Do you think we could have the next debate with FOX providing the moderator...after all, having the left leaning CNN and with Candy Crowley wearing her shoe with the heel slighty shorter on the left foot, it's only fair that FOX have a shot at it. Fair is Fair, isn't it?

    @Ann

Only people with no principles and values would vote for some guy who takes credit for killing Bin Landen who was hunted by Bush since 2001, but cannot take credit for the killing of his ambassador in Benghazi whose security was entirely under his watch.
    ------------------------------------------------
Bin Laden was hunted UNSUCCESSFULLY by Bush! President Obama leveraged intelligence data and actually listened to his Joint Chiefs – unlike "Mr. Mission Accomplished" who cherry-picked intelligence to meet his needs. Bin Laden is now quite dead.

If you believe the President of the United States actively participates in the staffing decisions for every embassy and consulate in the world you are a raging moron. I understand your need to make political points by trying to assign blame for every event on earth to the President. It's in the same spirit as the denial we've seen from conservatives for the Bush diplomatic and economic debacle – you create your own reality. Your effort to blame the tragedy in Libya on the President is dishonest, illogical and unpatriotic. It's what I'd expect from the right-wing bigots who now call themselves Republicans. Where are your "principles"? How about the flip-flops, lies and distortions from Romney and Lyin' Ryan? Do see a problem with that?
