Obama on debate day: 'I feel fabulous'

(CNN) – Hours before his second matchup with Mitt Romney, President Barack Obama told reporters his spirits were high going into Tuesday's town hall-style presidential debate.

"I feel fabulous," Obama said as he strolled through the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he has spent the last three days preparing for Tuesday's debate. The president was walking alongside David Plouffe, a White House adviser, and Anita Dunn, his former communications chief who is playing CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley, the debate's moderator, in the president's practice sessions.

Watch CNN's coverage of Tuesday's presidential debate starting at 7 p.m. ET on CNN TV, CNN.com and via CNN's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. "Look at this beautiful day," he continued, before telling the reporters, "I hope you enjoy the weather."

On Monday, the president's campaign released a photo of first lady Michelle Obama holding up an Illinois absentee ballot. Asked by reporters if he knew his wife voted for him, Obama smiled and said, "Thank goodness."

He did not respond to a question about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking responsibility in a CNN interview for the safety of American diplomats following the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed the American ambassador.

It's pretty obvious this whole debate thing with Obama down and beat up in the first debate is just like the boxer that starts poorly (Sylvester Stalone) and is tied midway and then finishes with a knockout at the end, slightly bruised and bloody, but still wins our hearts and souls. I don't buy it...it's all too threatical and bogus and too hard to swallow. Obama is a pro at this sort of game...just watch and see how all his supporters, all depressed and sorrowful, will rally round the flag one more time and then we can all go down in flames together when the next four years are worse then the last four.

We have seen this once before (2008). Just before the skinny kid from Chicago won by nearly 10 million votes and more than double the electorates. John King and Chuck Todd with egg all over their faces after giving us every possible scenario on their wall-sized computer boards. What's even more funny than the GOP thinking they stand a chance in 3 weeks is the fact that all those rich Romney backers wasting their monies....

I am very surprise at the mentallity of the American people. They have forgotten where there were when President Obama took office. He has always said he will be there for 100% of America. He has never said they are Takers or only referred to 47% of them. Governor Rommy represented 1 state its different when running a country. Give the president another 4 years to clean up the mess that was done in 8. Stop and think Healthcare for everyone, the rich can pay for their own, can you? He stopped the Car Industry, the Banks and the House market from going under and now you are taking Rommey's word he is there for you. Why did he not help the country instead of I state think people think. Obama will fight for you remember Obama know how it feels to be in the middle class, Rommy does not have a clue Ask any rich person what is it like to tell their child, husband or wife there is no money you cant have it. Not one of them. Remember the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer.
Vote President Obama you will not regret it. The job rate is below 8%, the house market is going back up, Obama is fight for business to come back to America. Ask Governor Rommy why he shipped labor to China

After reading the dems posting on this site, I weep for this country, seriously I do.

What has this guy done any differently in 3 1/2 years. Still fighting on 4 fronts, still record unemployment. You've got a complete buffoon giggling through an entire debate, you've got a President that refuses to accept responsibility for an abject failure in foreign policy that led to an embassy being attacked and some of the staff murdered, and you've got billions lost funding green energy.

Mitt was right, 47% of you will vote democrat even if Hitler himself were on the ticket. You people are complete morons and deserve what's coming to you if the captain of F Troop gets reelected.

That good because I have been nauseous the pst two weeks. Don't you know people's lives depend on your making sure the Republican lies are exposed. 20% tax cut not going to cost anyone anything, yea right, malarkey. Austerity will create jobs, again malarkey. Tax breaks for the wealthy will create jobs, give me a break. Defend your record and call them out on their poor math skills.

Obama says he is feeling fabulous until he falls flat on his face. Maybe he will be taking some of what Biden took last week which caused him to act like a real fool.

Tagg Romney under investigation for Insider trading. Tagg is Mitt Romney's oldest son and founder of Solamere Capital .

"Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed four of the five sons of Mitt Romney.

Piers might go back to shinning shoes in the UK or editor of the daily crumput .

Did he ask the Romney Children , who are now over 30 , why they didn't join the military .
Maybe , Piers could ask them important questions such as what its like to ride in a car elevator.

What ever happened to journalists like Edward Roscoe Murrow ?

Not everyone who depends on the government is on welfare you idiot. My company and many others, far more than you are probably aware of, depend on government contracts. Work that will not and cannot be absorbed by the private sector.

@Dihanna, he has done a lot in his time in office and could have done a lot more with help. I can't speak for anyone else, but thanks to President Obama, when I lost my very well paying job in 2008, I was at least able to collect unemployment until I found another job. Granted it was only 65% of my pay but at least I was able to keep my roof over my head. If it were up to the GOP there would be no help for people that were in my shoes. If Willard gets in, I feel sorry for some of you because you are going to be in for a very rude awakening.

God bless you President Obama, and good luck tonight.....

Marc Grossman, the State Department’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, explained today that’s not the whole story. more Bozoz Biden lies

Grossman said Tuesday that the point of the upcoming negotiations is to agree on an extension of the U.S. troop presence well past 2014, for the purposes of conducting counterterrorism operations and training and advising the Afghan security forces. [...]

Some U.S. military officials have said the plan is to keep 25,000 American troops in Afghanistan past 2014, but Grossman insisted that there is no number yet and the 25,000 figure quoted in reports is speculative. NATO announced Monday that it will also keep international troops in Afghanistan past 2014 alongside U.S. troops, not for combat but strictly for the mission of training and advising the Afghans.
