Obama on debate day: 'I feel fabulous'

(CNN) – Hours before his second matchup with Mitt Romney, President Barack Obama told reporters his spirits were high going into Tuesday's town hall-style presidential debate.

"I feel fabulous," Obama said as he strolled through the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he has spent the last three days preparing for Tuesday's debate. The president was walking alongside David Plouffe, a White House adviser, and Anita Dunn, his former communications chief who is playing CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley, the debate's moderator, in the president's practice sessions.

Watch CNN's coverage of Tuesday's presidential debate starting at 7 p.m. ET on CNN TV, CNN.com and via CNN's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. "Look at this beautiful day," he continued, before telling the reporters, "I hope you enjoy the weather."

On Monday, the president's campaign released a photo of first lady Michelle Obama holding up an Illinois absentee ballot. Asked by reporters if he knew his wife voted for him, Obama smiled and said, "Thank goodness."

He did not respond to a question about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking responsibility in a CNN interview for the safety of American diplomats following the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed the American ambassador.

I want to see both candidates trot out in full wrestling garb top the sound of Survivor's "Eye Of The Tiger" blasting in the background. Then Obama smacks Romney over the head with a folding chair.

Wow, so many americans are apparently still asleep, or not paying attention. They lies above prove it.

Pat Pat when you say we, speak for yourself unless you have a mouse in your pocket. That's why we have a choice on who we vote for – you for Romney and myself and proud for President Obama.

Romney will win this debate tonight but the real winners are the American people. Romney will stop all social programs in the first year of your presidency and balance the federal budget. I am sure the liberals will never again hold power in Washington D.C.

  9. Poll Reality

Everyone keeps forgetting that polls are taken by calling landlines, they don't call cell phones. So polls are very skewed toward older less technology savvy people. And it is STILL close. You factor in all the young cell phone only people and the polls would shift toward Obama big time.

.He was asked today in his “I feel fabulous today” event “Is Hillary to blame?” He didn’t answer and he walked away. He was thinking all was “fabulous” this morning and Benghazi was over and done with when Hillary accepted responsibility. But NO ONE is buying the Buck stops with anyone but him rhetoric. We need answers and the death of 4 Americans blamed foolishly on a video no matter who accepts responsibility will not and should not be swept under Mr Fabulous bus. I delight in the fact that he is being hit hard on this issue and I delight even more in the fact that Hillary is being touted as Presidential and he is being called the fraud that everyone of us here knew he was.

Patpat, you're obviously the bozo as most of your republican sheep, remember its your party that has elected losers since Hoover till Bush43,proud of that fact,I wouldn't be!!You keep coming to the poker table with jokers and in poker as in life they're a useless piece in anything ,just basically there to take up space!!Remember its your republicans in both houses making it hard on America not the presidents, turning down job, infastructure, vets and farmers aid bills, you're the problem here but as usual your arrogence overshadows your ignorence because you don't know any better.Your republican presidents have created depressions, recessions, wars, more discord that most can count and you call yourselves patriots, look it up because from my viewpoint your nothing but traitors holding the citizens of America hostage to make this black man,the first in presidencial history a one termer, your Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin said it himself saying defeat Obama and send him back to Kenya, can't get any more racist republican then that but that's always been that way with you hasn't it,check out your parties reps, just a handful of African-Americans as token republicans to make the statement to your ignorent followers we're not racist, yah right, ask the president how he's been disrespected by all your party, chime in if you don't think you're a racist party, you won't and I made my case!!

Go, Mr. Obama! With you all the way!

I second what poster "Poll Reality" said - the polls are quite obviously non-representative because they don't include the households (now more than 25% of US households) that only have cell phones. Election Day may leave many pollsters looking stunned.

Obama can't lose. Oh, he definitely can lose the debate and the election, but given the incredible racism and hatred directed at him, it would probably be a relief to retire from public life.

Pat, Pat, Pat.........Endless war, homeless wrapping their fee in newspaper in the dead of winter, people dying because they cannot afford health insurance, wars fought for corporations and not freedom, restricting voting rights, taking away health care from the elderly, taking away rights from women to make decisions about their own body, blatant racism by elected officials, on and on and on.........The America we know needs to end.
