Hempstead, New York (CNN) - President Barack Obama fought back and Republican challenger Mitt Romney mostly stood his ground.
The second of three presidential debates on Tuesday night brought the desired energy from the president sought by worried Democrats after a lackluster performance in the first encounter nearly two weeks ago.

Mitt was quite rude, its not a street debate between to gang members, it is presidential debate. Mitt was really rude not strong with words but rude with gesture and his tone.

This is the most important election in our country's history and romney is treating it like he is running for student council in 8th grade. Fairly even debate tonight, Obama was much more aggressive, almost to a fault, any unbiased person watching would agree that this debate will be spun by both parties to show superiority. However, It would be great if the individuals claiming stupidity on the candidates part were able to spell their insults correctly.

Romney was very weak and didn't answer the questions accurately. He was all over the place when answering questions. I felt he repeated allot of things the president spoke about. Obama won this debate with a land slide. Romney was not honest and it was bought to his attention through the debate moderator. Obama won this debate.
Romney won first debate, Obama the second. Pretty clear. Obama Answered questions more clearly and outlined his policy. Romney in attack mode mostly with little real substance. Wonder how many assault weapons Mitt and the boys gave in their closets??
