Biden shakes it up with 'Etch-A-Sketch' reference

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - Long before binders and Big Bird, the outsized catchphrase of this election was "Etch-A-Sketch."

Nearly seven months after the children's toy had its fifteen minutes of fame on the campaign trail, Vice President Joe Biden remixed it with a recent campaign trail moment and unveiled the new hybrid line about Mitt Romney's tax plan at a rally in Nevada.

"As the president said the day after the debate Romney's plans were sketchy," Biden said, referencing a comment Obama made at Tuesday's debate and again since. "Well, folks I don't think they were just sketchy - I think they were Etch-A-Sketchy."

Biden was rallying supporters in Las Vegas, a city where both he and Republican challenger Mitt Romney have held six events each this general election.

The vice president also lit into Romney and GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan, referencing a book

He allowed that the Republican candidates are "decent men… good fathers… good husbands," but said their policies have Americans in their sights.

"Ryan has written a book called 'The Young Guns' with two other fellows, members of the House, these are the Republican leaders of the House," Biden said, referencing a book Ryan wrote with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy.

"Unfortunately," Biden continued, "the bullets are aimed at you."

Brendan Buck, a spokesman for Ryan, said the comments were "over-the-top rhetoric" that is "disappointing, but not all that surprising."

"In the absence of a vision or plan to move the country forward, the Vice President is left only with ugly political attacks beneath the dignity of the office he occupies," Buck said.

Biden criticized his opponents for their stances on abortion, an issue which returned to the spotlight after Romney said in a recent newspaper interview there is "no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda."

He and his campaign later sought to clarify that he would support efforts to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood and would support judicial nominees who favor overturning Roe v. Wade.

Obama's campaign has hit Romney on the issue in television ads and on the campaign trail, as Biden did in Nevada.

"And after these debates, you have any doubt who they will likely appoint to the Supreme Court of the United States," he said. "How much chance do you think Roe v. Wade will survive after four years of a Romney Supreme Court?"

After the rally, the vice president visited a local elementary school where he mingled with kids on the playground.

"Everybody here gonna go to college?" Biden asked, as the fifth graders said they would.

Mingling with the students, he charmed them and their teachers.

"Thanks for letting me come to the playground," he said. "I wish we were coming to play basketball."

One child lodged a special request of the vice president-to send President Barack Obama to visit with them too. Biden assured them he'd put in the request and made sure to put in the good word for his boss.

"I'm Vice President Biden and I work with Barack Obama. He's a good guy."

There are 6 studies that show the numbers add up.

    (actually there aren't any studies...just 6 editorials, 2 written by Romney campaing staffers...but hey, they're almost studies...right?)

This is how bad Romney's policy is: even after he "Etch-A-Sketch" it so many times, it's still Sketchy.

The fact is simple. Tax-cut is ONE of the many tool that can be used to fix the economy. But he tried to use it to fix everything with it. It won't work.

Biden is great! And his son served in the military and is a major in the National Guard. Romney meantime has 5 sons and NOT ONE has served in the military. During the Vietnam war, Romney rallied in support of the war, but he himself "served" his country by going to Paris!. His philosophy was I support the war, but somebody else has to do the fighting. Now Biden did not serve in Vietnam, but to my knowledge he did not participate in pro Vietnam war rallies like Romney did. Why would anybody vote for another chicken hawk?

Yeah, well we have to give the Romney/Ryan ticket credit. Not every day is there a candidate for president who is able to get the right to vote against is own Christianity, it's own principles, it's own fiscal ideology, and it's own best interests. Romney/Ryan have done just that with an amazing degree of built in confidence and arrogance directed AGAINST their own voting base.

Ryan used the term gun in the title. Biden's reference to bullets is allegorical. These aren't the bullets you buy at a gun store, they are the bullets that come from the "Top Guns."

Just how badly did CNN's Candy Crowley destroy her first (and hopefully last) attempt as a presidential debate moderator? More than 65 million people saw that she is to debate moderation as CNN is to "news."

"Barack Obama made a fatal mistake when he lied, claiming he'd labeled the Libya attack as an act of terrorism. The look on Romney's face said it all: Mr. President, here comes checkmate."

"Then Crowley leapt to Obama's defense, declared a lie a truth, changed the subject, and Obama was free."

The secret behind Biden's confidence. A Spanish company is going to tabulate 60% of the votes in this Presidential election. Why the confidence? The biggest share holder in that company is Obama's friend George Soros. Can you say, "conflict of interest". In this case it's okay because they are Liberals fighting for a good cause.

Right now Romney has that "Etch-a-sketch" tax plan of his stating "NO TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH". You can be assured that after the election, if he wins, Romney will flip that "Etch-a-sketch" over, shake it like it is a woman who wants equality, and then write in tax cuts for the wealthy that would embarass the Koch Brothers.

So Ryan complains that Ol' Joe Biden's comments are over the top?

But birther comments, Obama a 'kenyan", a socialist, unAmerican, a communist, inept, oh that's all ok, that's par for the course.
On Nov. 6 those Gop'ers will eat their words.

Ok. Billy Graham removed Mormon religion from their list of cults and then took a full page ad urging voters to not be afraid to vote for someone because of their religion. And a diocese of the Catholic Church is suing the administration because of the healthcare decision. And many evangelical ministers are telling their congregations who and what issues they should support. In view of this, I think churches should forfeit their tax free status and pay their fair share. If they insist on injecting themselves to influence elections, then they shouldn't be allowed this exemption.

Another Joe Biden's memorable moment "How many of you know someone serving in Afghanistan or Iran?" How many of you know someone injuried or killed in Afganistan or Iran?"
Let's not forget it was Joe Biden who said lets divide Iraq into 3 country, told Obama not to go after Bin Laden and is completely ignored on any advise he gives. This is guy who lied pt blank in the debate & is a footstep fr the presidency. Some referred to Biden as the drunk family member we all have. And this guy is fit to be the vice-president?
