Jobless claims snap back up

New York (CNNMoney) – First-time claims for unemployment benefits are on a roller coaster. The number snapped back up last week, after falling to a four-year low the week before.

About 388,000 people filed for first-time unemployment benefits in the week ended October 13, up 46,000 from the previous week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

From threats announced, this 46,000 could be caused from bosses not caring about the employees' sufferings, in order to carry out their political agenda, but "whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6: 7)

This is a 13% increase in new unemployment claims. Spin or take credit? Team Obama will certainly pick Spin on this one.

This is great news for Romney .

If the republicans and big oil can keep gas prices high , the election will be in the Bag , the Romney Bag.

Is this a trend or a bumpin the road? If it is a trend, then the GOP has won. If it is just a bump in the road, the president still has a chance.

Romney must have someone on the inside who made the numbers do this. I don't believe them......wait I'm not a republican right wing idealog!! Or A LEFT WING one. This is how it works in this world. Nothing goes straight up or down for long....It's called ebb and flow.

The crazy right wingnuts should be celebrating this. Just like they celebrated when Chicago lost the olympics bid, when our credit rating was lowered, when union jobs were shipped overseas, when the house obstructed every jobs bill, and our embassies were attacked.

heard something very sad and frighting, 5 million Americans receive unemployment checks . Obama government spend 1.03 TRILLION for welfare and you tell me that his adjenda is not to make more people depended on the government, especially when the money is BARROWED and your grandchildrens, children will be responsible for the debt. NEEDED CHANGE IN THE OVAL OFFFICE AND THEN MAYBE WE CAN HOPE FOR A BETTER AMERICA.

Oh, lord. The narrative for the next few weeks is already being pushed behind closed doors: Vote for Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is leading the anti-Obama doom and gloom charge and unfortunately it's working. This is the worst election coverage ever and I am not only disgusted with the Republican party, I am disgusted with our American media, as well as being extremely disgusted with my fellow Americans who fall for this BS year after year.

Ah, well. A Mitt Romney presidency ought to wake everyone up ... fast.

Obama/Biden 2012-2016. Because sitting back and allowing Mitt Romney and his Wall Street thugs to buy this election is not an option.

So who's going to run around like chicken little and say the sky is falling the sky is falling, American's already know that there is nothing smooth about a recovery in motion, but to some it will be the end of the world. Besides they're part of the 47% Mitt doesn't care about remember. Its frustrating getting a lay-off notice at the end of the season, but it comes with the territory of seasonal work. Until both bodies of government are willing to work together, the senate and congress, this will be the way forward for America at large, one step forward two steps back until firm ground is under the feet of the government. What will happen post election, will congress continue to battle with the president at every turn or will they finally start to comprimise knowing it won't be that long until their seats are once again up for the taking. Be interesting to see.

Bet that unemployment rate is going to SNAP BACK UP next month too..., not that the Labor Dept's change in polling questions affected it last time.

You won't hear the republicans saying the numbers are skewed this time, because this helps their mission. Even though the worst is seen and heard on television, I still believe there are a lot of decent people out there who won't reward evil for good.

Of course, the many in the business community have their marching orders from the Conservatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce...... "make sure you do not hire anyone, so Obama fails!"

Wanting our president to fail, wanting to keep people unemployed IS hateful and UN-American!

We, the People have to send a clear and strong message to those who would keep our Nation in Recession for their own gain!

NO..... WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS!

What is clear is that every single business owner is a millionaire and is out to hurt the real heroes of America, the working people who never lie, cheat, or steal. They say business owners take risk and are in business to make profits, but that is a lie. They are just part of the conspiracy to ruin Obama.
