Paul Ryan says he's 'shocked and saddened' by Wisconsin shooting

(CNN) – Mitt Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, released a statement Sunday responding to the Brookfield, Wisconsin shooting that killed three and wounded four others at a hair salon and spa.

Brookfield borders Ryan's congressional district, the site of a separate mass shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek two months ago.

“Janna and I were shocked and saddened by the news from Brookfield today. As our community continues to heal from August’s tragic violence, our thoughts and prayers are with today’s victims and their loved ones. Our gratitude also goes to the first responders who rushed to save lives and secure the scene. We will not allow the evil responsible for this heartbreaking event to triumph over the spirit of the people of Wisconsin. I ask all Americans to keep those affected by this event in their hearts, minds, and prayers today," the statement read.

Ryan did not mention the shooting at two campaign events Sunday.

So is this an act of terror or some young man with "issues" who made a bad judgment call?

    [checks]

Hmm, skin color same as Obama, not confirmed to be a Republican, so we'll go with 'act of terror' Also Obama has not denounced it immediately, so he is a reverse-racist

Romney: Obama mandated contraception so he might take your guns too

Romney says Obama will erode the rights of gun owners in speech to NRA

We need a president who will enforce current laws, not create new ones that only serve to burden lawful gun owners," Romney told thousands of NRA members in St. Louis for their annual convention. "President Obama has not. I will."

Running for the Senate in 1994, Romney said: "I don't line up with the NRA." A decade later he became a lifetime NRA member

This country has brought all kinds of people into the country, and many of those bring a violent nature with them.

It is about time that the Republican party speaks out firmly against the scourge of gun violence in the U.S. It is time that they stop being political sychophants of the N.R.A.How many more innocent people have to die in a culture where guns are available on a dime and where the cultural norm for many seems to be to go shoot up the joint if one get's fired, rejected in love, loses custody of chidren, dissed or just feels like a loser in society. Why is this not happening with anywhere near the same regularity in other Western Societies where for example one is not greeted at airports as at Las Vegas ecouraging you to come and have some fun with machine guns.

Why are you shocked by this Ryan? Guns are everywhere in our country. The NRA does nothing for protecting people from harm-Having guns was meant for hunting or protecting oneself. I wonder what would happen if the victims families could sue the NRA every time an act of violence like this happens, guns being used for the the amendment said it was for not for act of violence. I know, because of too much money that the NRA has that a suit would never hold in court. Could it be worth a try?????

This is the only area where both campaigns MAKE ME EQUALLY SICK. Neither will address the issue directly on what plans if any, they'll take to protect the American people. I really don't want to hear "our hearts and prayers are with the victims", I want to see some action by both teams on gun control.

More and more each day, I am starting to think about going to a more civilized country. America is becoming more and more a land of uncivilized animals.

It was nice that he didn't mention the shootings at campaign events. If he had and made it a campaing issue, it would be a problem for the Romney campaign.

What can you expect with a radical governor and party controlling the state. It has gone wild with mass murders. walker loves the attention as well as the NRA. brings in more funds to them.

He's "shocked and sadden" but still not willing to even discuss the possibility of increased gun regulations in fear of angering the NRA. That's no leadership.

A Romney / Ryan administration would work tirelessy with the GOP to try and strip the rights of first responders, as well as firing as many of them as they can. Filthy, miserable liars is all they are.

What's the matter lyan altar boy? You are the one who liked guns and are teaching your 10 year old daughter to kill.
The truth hurts that big nosed plate face of yours?
Like you and that wife of yours care about anything but your political career. Working at McDonald's might not help you keep that house of yours.
