(CNN) - President Barack Obama takes a seat on Jay Leno's couch Wednesday, but hardly to relax - his appearance will come with just under two weeks left until Election Day.
The interview, which the White House announced Monday, on NBC's "Tonight Show" will also be approximately a week after he sat in the hot seat on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show."

On 'The Daily Show,' last week he and host Jon Stewart fit in a few laughs, but also discussed how his administration handled the situation in Libya and the second presidential debate.
Leno has landed his share of punch lines about the campaign. After Obama's performance at the first presidential debate was widely panned, Leno noted that the evening was also Obama's 20th wedding anniversary.
The first couple "celebrated at a restaurant called Bourbon Steak. That was the name of the restaurant they went to. Bourbon Steak," Leno said. "I understand (first lady) Michelle had the steak to celebrate the occasion. And the president had bourbon to help forget the debate."
It will be Obama's fifth appearance on "The Tonight Show," NBC said, and his third as president.
The president's 2009 sit down with Leno was the first time a sitting president appeared on a late-night comedy program for a purpose other than campaigning.
He appeared on the program during his first presidential bid, a campaign Leno joked about earlier this month in light of the latest job numbers.
"The good news for the White House is unemployment has dropped to 7.8%, right where it was when President Obama took office," Leno said. "So Obama's gone from 'change you can believe in' to 'can you believe there's no change?' "

The fact the president can laugh at himself gives a comfort he is human, one of us.
Once again business as usual, Mr. President. You spent more time on talk shows than you do in the oval office, doing the job you were elected to do. You have the gull to ask to move forward and be re-elected, now that's a joke on the American people. Like they say, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". We are total done with your dog and pony show, of playing as President!!!
The only time Obama has had to face tough questions about his failed presidency was during the debates. That's why he likes venues like the Tonight Show and The View. They are totally in his corner and he doesn't have to be held accountable. What a complete disgrace as a president.
Meanwhile..., as Obama laughs it up,
Another $3 Billion dollars is added to your childrens debt under our 4 YEAR OLD progressive budget.
This is just NBC giving Obama more free ad time. California is in the bank for him – so who really cares. The people watching this show are voting for Obama anyway – so it's no big deal.
How about those people in Freeport IL that Romney is going to get millions of dollars for. They are LOSING their jobs becuase of Romney. Get a clue people, Romney doesn't have the answer and actually we are still waiting until he can give the FACTS on how he is going to cut taxes and create jobs.
Ignore our ambassadors but play with Hollywoods elite.
What a disgrace.
Who cares, Leno watcher are BHO drones anyway.
BHO is good showman, but one of the worst US Presidents in my lifetime, Carter being in 2nd place
I think its funny how people have so much to say about the President, but republican candidate is not any better. He cant even answer simple questions and gives the nation the run around every time he is asked about certain issues. What hope does this country really have?
I wonder who has appeared MORE on this show, Barry or his wife?
This clown is more interested in the perks of being President then actually doing the job he was HIREd to do!
All this has become so tedious it makes me want to weep. A few months ago, I started reading the comments posted at the end of political articles hoping to gain some insight. Instead, it turned out to be people on both sides spouting off as though they had some kind of inside track to the truth when all they were doing was parroting back things they heard on TV and the internet. I detected no real thinking or research. I voted. If my guy wins, it will be months (possibly years) before I know if I made the right choice. It will be the same for all of you, if your candidate wins. Ultimately, neither candidate will be able to do anything but delay the inevitable downfall of this country.
Charm offensive!
look peoples, obama is the best things to happen to this county in a long time and he deserve to be reelected. the
republicans did every thing they could to make the president fail at all cost and they had some success in they effort
which is the reason the economy is moving slow, from day one the republicans leader said thet only was to defeat
the president at all cost no matter what happen to the county as long as the president is defeat in (4) years from now
Anonymous – None.
How dare Obama promote his agenda. He should stay home and let Romney do the Geat Amereican Tour of Lies with out being so rudly challenged. Can't wait till this is over and the idiots in the right are once agian licking their wounds.
I have a better idea, Mr. President. Go to your National Security Briefing instead. That way you help your ratings and not Leno's.
Meanwhile, Flip the finger in the wind candidate goes on the mouthpiece Faux Snews to perpetuate his failings
Informed Voter – Nothing like linking two random words. Nothing like it.
I Don't know who's worse! Obama, Johnson or Carter! America was smart to not re elect either Carter or Johnson. Let's hope America hasn't fried all of its brain cells smoking the crap Obama has been passing around the last 4 years.
Anyone remember Romney on Lederman last year reading the Top10 list? Bet $10,000 he'll never try that again.
Yes, on Obama12. Period.
He is the President for all americans so it is nothing wrong with him reaching out to voters who watch TV and maybe can't attend the rallies this is why this President is likeable because he can relate to the 100% and know their pain.

No... but I remember him on Letterman doing the same thing.

Professor Phil....".I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President. "
try again
How about holding a few press conferences and answering some tough questions and attend your security briefings.
Instead , Mr. Hollywood does the talk show circuit.
What a joke this President has been , nobody is laughing..!!!
