CNN Fact Check: Obama went on an apology tour, Romney and others say

(CNN) - The contention that President Obama apologized to other nations for American behavior has been mentioned repeatedly by his critics, including Mitt Romney.

During his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in August, Romney said, "I will begin my presidency with the jobs tour. President Obama began his with an apology tour. America, he said, had dictated to other nations. No, Mr. President America has freed other nations from dictators."

Uhh.... where the heck is the answer within this article? I know what it is, (more nonsense from the Romney camp) but for other people who read this they will not know that it is nonsense. What are you trying to prove here, CNN?

This U.S. Marine can tell you that we still use bayonets and we used horses as recently as Afghanistan. Our commander-in-chief needs to get his helmet on and get in the game.

Stop the blame game, take ownership of the mess you created and fix the problem. Still waiting for a plan!!

Romney has spent his entire campaign aplogzing for the many gaffes he's made. The foreign gaffe tour where he was labeled Mitt the Twit and advisor's cursing in a holy place. And let's not forget the 47 percent debacule. By the way I still think he meant it. He's had to clarify is his position on every issue numerous times because it changes with the audience. One good debate doesnt change a poorly managed campaign for me. Just proves we do need to better educate americans because that fact that race is close after ALL his mistakes show some americans are just plain stupid!

This has always been a problem with the right. You do not attact bees without honey. We had to market our country to the Middle East as non aggressors and build partners. If 1 "apology" leads to killing terrorists, increasing cooperation, or the death of bin laden then I say – Result!

Special Forces operators rode horses in Afghanistan, we all saw the video. Be confident they know how to use edged and thrusting weapons like bayonets,

Romney went around the World insulting our allies and it was President Obama who had to cleanup behind his mess. Romney went to the Olympics and insulted the people of the UK and continue on to 3 other countries and insulted them and that certainly isn't what Americans do and for sure not a President. I'm surprised Obama didn't bring that up.

Wasn't this fact checked and proven FALSE a while ago??? Willard has nothing but lies and the president called him out on each and every one last night. This guy even changed stances from the last debate. Why are there never any fact checks on any of his blatant lies?? You don't have to answer, intelligent Americans already know the answer. The blatant bias against our CIC by the media is ridiculous.

    OBAMA 2012!

I have to agree with Romney. Obama has been more interested in placation, than in making America stronger.

Obama evidently doesn't remember is badmouthing of the US & bowing to Saudi Kings – WE DO

and unfortunately we have to remember Duh Duh Duh-bya giving a creepy neck massage to Merkel. Romney and the rest of the sheep are completely out of their mind if they think saying "We're America. We rule. We never do anything wrong" is the right way to conduct foreign policy. It is in the Cowboy-diplomacy of the GOP and no wonder we lost a lot of allies respect during his reign of error. Obama NEVER ONCE said apology or sorry. The right continues to try to perpetuate this lie but thinking people reject it

It seems like Romney is on a U.S. LYING tour.

All in all Romney attended the "sleeping debate" or rather "unknowledgeable debate". He should thank god that the moderator allowed him to inject economic matters while the debate was all about foreign policy. Am wondering what did he prepare himself all six years on foreign issues? If the last debate was the first one, Romney could have been forgotten by now.

Seems to me that the Bush family bowed to Saudis for decades, for personal gain. The president shows respect to foreign leaders and is villainized! Anything to show Obama as un-american right willardites? As a sidenote to Florida and all voters, the pharoahs and hitler were "job creators" also...

One thing I always enjoy is when GOP chickenhawks like Romney try to talk tough and then claim Democrats go around "apologizing."

It's called restoring diplomatic ties with allies who we abused from 2000 to 2008. Also thanks to the Iraq war we had a huge image problem. The President needed to calm international waves if he expected anyone to trust us ever again. Which seems like something republicans are dead set against, for instance Rep. Issa and the names of Libyans that are working with us.

Obama curbstomped Mittens in a blinding blaze of righteous I've-had-enough-of-your-crap last night. And he was right. Plain and simple. The MSM will refuse to admit it and steer all attention away from it because they will resist any narrative that wrecks their precious horse race so late in the game...and after such heroic efforts to create the horse race narrative in the first place....and the GOP/Teatrolls will spew vitriol and bias accusations at anyone who bothers to cover it objectively, whle they spin their narrative that somehow the debate about national security and foreign policy doesn't matter (knowing full well that the MSM wants desperately to pick up said narrative for the aforementioned reasons).

I remember VERY WELL him BOWING DOWN before Saudi Kings. Shame on you, Mr. President, for shaming our country and the position you so lightly covet and represent. How can you deny it the apology tour when we saw it with our own eyes – the bowing and the words, that America is arrogant, derisive and dismissive. How dare you!!

If this continues the USA will be the laughing stalk of the world. It has been an embarassing comical campaign with the candidates put froward by the GOP. Voters who after months of hearing the radical idealogy of the GOP, after watching them attempt to strip people of their rights-particularly their right to vote – their voice. After watching a candidate change his stance on the issues at times daily, they continue to say they have not made up their mind. It is wonder how this country elected Bush as president and screwed itself up......
