(CNN) - President Barack Obama's pop culture push is on.

Obama will participate in a live television program on MTV Friday, the television network said Tuesday, where he will field questions from young voters.

The president's appearance on MTV will come two days after he sits down with Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show," and just over a week after he sat in the sat in the hot seat on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show."

Obama will field questions from college students in Washington, D.C. and via Facebook, MTV said, in a conversation facilitated by the network's news correspondents.

"MTV's 'ASK OBAMA LIVE: an MTV Interview with the President' marks the first time in this campaign that either President Obama or Governor Romney have focused solely on young voter's top concerns - including jobs, the cost of college, rising student loan debt, social issues like LGBTQ rights, and immigration, to name a few - on a nationally televised program," MTV said in a statement. "MTV has invited Governor Romney to participate in a live, 30 minute special as well, and hopes to also conduct a sit down interview with him in advance of Election Day."

    Obama and his many appearances on television remind me of the old 60's movie, Wild in the Streets. Presidential candidate Hal Holbrook wanted to appear so cool to the younger generation.

    All the more reason not to have this wild card as a President for four more years. He definitely missed his calling as a comedian.
    Did anyone else notice during the last debate, how the camera for Obama was set up to make him, (his head) appear closer or larger, so his intense stare got more attention. In a normal shot of the two of them, Romney's head is slightly larger, but during the debate and with side by side shots, Romney's head was about 25% smaller. The fix was on so Obama's stare was more noticeabole. Had it been normal he just would have had a pinhead stare that would have looked silly.

    I find it worrysome that Obama spends so much time on talk shows yet cannot get Rep & Dem to work together. This election is about our economy. we need Romney.

    say what you want but you have to admit that if you're trying to influence young voters this is a SMART way to do it. EVERYBODY watches a lot of tv. i don't think anybody should fault the president for appearing on tv shows, he's just trying to appeal to america through what we care about most, our TV's and you cannot deny that

    So this is what passes for intelligent fair, you republican clowns have to stop drinking the koolaid, and I mean now. First you have Akin a regular rocket scientist who says that women who get raped can stop conception with magic juices, then you have Broun who insists that all of this stuff about evolution is not real, its just made up, and he has a chair on the science committee, and now this latest version of Akin who says and just last night said that women who get pregnant when their raped, it was gods plan for her to get pregnant.

    Really, and you think the supporters of the democrats are out to lunch, well your guys have just stolen the lunch truck and is driving down the highway trying to get on spikes worlds best police chases.

    Lucid One

    @snifffit, u r priceless, dude. You claim that a certain group of people have a position based on their economic standing and color of their skin?? You really need to do a little soul searching with your hatred and bigotry and assumptions that YOU make about people. You are one unhappy person with a whole lot of venom. Not only are you the pot, you are the kettle too.

    Oh, you are wrong, Truth Hurts. Obama already got Honey Boo Boo's endorsement on a trash TV show...the host of that show "baited" Honey Boo by saying Romney liked "Snooki" better. What a sad state of affairs Obama has put this country in.....you get your news from talk show TV. I am appalled that a sitting President of the United States would go on all these trash TV talk shows. Oh, well, anything goes when you are in desperate need of votes. If Romney loses, he carries his dignity into history. Obama has no dignity left at all.

    @truth hurts
    Will Obama be truthful and disclose how many tens of thousands of dollars of DEBT he has heaped onto these kids backs? I doubt it. He'll be telling them all of the free stuff they can get if they vote for him. Usefull idiots will not know they will be footing the bill down the road, PLUS INTEREST.

    @Sue

    Haha what's so wrong about the president making himself available to the people who will be voting for or against him??? There is nothing funny about this race, what's really funny is that you want to replace Obama with someone way worse on every issue. Someone who talks about half of us behind close doors then when it's time to face the public changes his stance. Yeah vote for that guy, haha what a joke....

    Wow...I guess when you're president, it's against the law to go on tv shows and speak to voters on why they should vote for you...many people sure act like it...Obama is going so he can speak with young voters...what's wrong with that..??...is he not running a campaign...??...and Romney is basically doing the same thing...nothing wrong with it it...it's called running for the presidency...and personally, I feel much better with a president that can answer my questions...

  24. Awesomeness

    I think President Obama appearing on MTV is a great idea. It's an interview that'll be watched by the younger (hopefully) crowd. IT will provide a chance for the young ppl to stop being ignorant to the trash they hear they're parents say and can conclude their own opinions. Truth is if each American would question themselves what each candidate is saying and research the facts they would know that Governor M. Romney is a flip flop and a good actor...Romney cut jobs from his own company (Bain Capital) in America and now has people in China working for him. Truth is people lost their jobs due to a RIPPLE EFFECT of a down spiraling economy from Bush's Administration. How does anyone expect to get out of economic crisis without spending money? Of course we're deeper in debt, you have to invest your money in something to get a return. FYI: When Romney was governor he pushed for universal health care in his state, but first thing he wants to do is get rid of the Affordable Health Care Act. #ResearchThenVote
