Obama: The 'other guy' is a 'bulls***ter'

(CNN) - In an election that has produced new phrases like Romnesia and Obamaloney, President Barack Obama may have a new one for his Republican challenger that doesn't require any literary creativity: "bulls***ter."

The comment followed an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. The magazine's executive editor Eric Bates passed along a message from his six-year-old daughter who said to tell the president, "You can do it," regarding his re-election. Obama responded, "You know, kids have good instincts. They look at the other guy and say, 'Well that's a bulls***ter, I can tell.'"

The article will appear in the November 8 issue of the magazine.

Obama's recent barnyard-style comment is perhaps another signal that there is no love lost between the president and his current opponent, Mitt Romney.

In their four meetings during the election season, only the comedic Al Smith charity dinner broke the tension between the two candidates, which was palpable during their three presidential debates.

Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley who penned the article spoke about the President's comments on CBS' This Morning.

"We could go through [history] and find good and bad relationships, this is not one that has a whole lot of mutual respect." Brinkley said.

The term Brinkley said, is a translation of what Obama is already saying on the campaign trail.

"It's another part of Romnesia, I suppose," Brinkley said. "The working man's Romnesia is BS-er."

White House communications director Dan Pfieffer told reporters Thursday he hadn't seen the story but said people shouldn't get "distracted by the word," and should instead focus on the issue of trust that the president discusses on the stump.

But the Romney campaign said the comment is a sign the president is on his heels.

"President Obama is rattled and on the defensive," said Romney campaign senior adviser Kevin Madden. "He's running on empty and has nothing left but attacks and insults. It's unfortunate he has to close the final days of the campaign this way."

Romnesia is a term that might have first been coined by a Twitter user in March POLITICO reported, but has been co-opted by the Obama campaign and in the president's stump speeches to underscore the campaign's message that Romney flip-flops on his positions.

"If you can't seem to remember the policies on your website or the promises you've been making over the six years you've been running for president … Obamacare covers preexisting conditions, we can cure this disease," Obama told a crowd in Florida Monday.

Obamaloney has previously been used by Romney and his surrogates to criticize the president's plans and policies as not based in reality.

    Gee, good move Willard.

Take a clever remark that illustrated how uninformed you are, with an undercurrent that taps into the idea that you are old, out of date, old, out of touch, and old.

    Then repeat and amplify it.

How about we ask the families of the four honorable Americans who were killed in Benghazi which candidate they think is the BS'er.

Obama is the BSer. 4 years ago he said "i have a plan blah blah that will fix everything blah blah". Whoever fell for that crud will fall for anything.

My mother supports Obama. She is an elegant lady who will be appalled that he spoke of his opponent this way. Maybe there is still hope for another Romney vote on November 6th.

All the handwringers here were whooping and giving one another high fives when dead eye dick told a Democratic Senator to go **** himself on the Senate floor, and when a certain rethuglican congressman shouted "you lie" during President Obama's State of the Union. Yet they go apoplectic when President Obama calls a BSer a BSer. Why the double standard? What's different about President Obama? What is it? Hmmmmm.

Now conservatives will be all offended.... The funny thing is, EVERYBODY knows he's a liar! Can a Romney supporter, on this board, please explain to me why Santorum, Gulliani, Gingrich, Rush, ALL called him a liar in one form or another, during the primaries?? Were they ALL wrong? When the people close to you all point out the same character flaws in you, it's YOU, not them.

Funny, a lot of the right-wieners don't like to hear the truth. Seems like they couldn't see a BSer if it bit them in the face. Look what happened the last time we had a Right-wiener BSer in the Oval Office? We took a nosedive that we're climbing out of now. As Colin Powell says...We're pulling out of a nosedive and starting to get some altitude. I'm not a Colin Powell fan, but even a decent republican acknowledges that Bombney is all over the place...of as we should put it...a BSer!!! Say what you want right-wieners, people see romney for what he is. PERIOD

    Re: "Obama's recent barnyard-style comment"

We should be so proud. This is our leader-in-chief. Let's all talk dirty like our President.

And it cracks me up that he chastises Romney for forgetting the promises he made! TOO FUNNY.

What all did Obama promise us IN FOUR YEARS!

    1) Obama said he would reduce the deficit by half-HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Not only did that not happen, he INCREASED THE DEFICIT BY OVER $6 TRILLION. Care to comment Obama?

    2) He would unemployment under 6%. ANOTHER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Again, too funny.

    3) He would be the leader that would bring a consesus. This one is really funny. He has made our government more divided than ever, and has evolved to the supreme insider, working for special interest groups rather than all U>S> citizens.

    What do people care about?

CNN asked 457 voters which candidate showed the most skill and knowledge in economic issues and leadership skills during the second debate:

    On the Economy:
    Romney- 58%
    Obama- 40%

    On Leadership:

    Romney- 49%
    Obama- 40%

    On the Deficit
    Romney- 59%
    Obama- 36%

    On Taxes
    Romney- 51%
    Obama- 44%

Newsflash: This is the stuff that matters!

Obama is basing his campaign strategy on trashing Romney. But I see Romney as the anti-Obama whom we so desperately need. I think if the United States had great leadership with a strong focus on the economy, we would be able to solve many of our problems.

Reminder to Obama: The American Dream does include having a job.

Obama is on the campaign trail, talking dirty and trashing his opponent.

So let me say this: Obama you are lousy at your job. Get the hell out of the way for a real leader that knows how to make decisions, and move this country forward. You have shown that you cannot work with anyone. You are the one that is the supreme BULLSHI _ _ ER.

  16. The REAL Truth...

It takes the POTUS to stand up and speak the TRUTH about this clown that most Americans have been thinking for some time and say something no-one has had the b*lls to do yet.
Mitt is so not up to the job of President. Every day brings another example of why this clown has go. While this may play well with his infantile far-RIGHT lemming base, most Americans are appalled by the absolute lack of respect and decorum this fool displays on a daily basis for his opponent – the POTUS. It is time for some ADULT LEADERSHIP in the Grand Obstructionist Party. Time to show this five year old the door – along with his buddies Mitch McCluess and John Brayner – once and for all.

You know, I gotta say that this is the most honest, refreshing thing I have heard ANY candidate say this election cycle. I am not offended in the least by it. I wish more politicians would actually be more straightforward instead of falling behind politcal speak gobbledygook.

    @Darrell – I'll take you up.

Romney hasn't hidden any plans. Are you conscious that he had a 59 point plan during the primaries and only honed it down to 5 for people like you? Are you dense enough to think our country can be solved with a tag-line? And this is the most important part which you clearly missed. He said in the debate how exactly he would go about his tax plan. You probably didn't recognize it, just as O didn't, because you and he are unaware of how the real world works and wouldn't recognize a real plan if it hit you in the face. Romney said he would lay out his 5 principles, then get both parties together to decide how to achieve them. I know Obama thinks he just writes up everything and either forces it down the other side's throat (i.e. Obamacare with not 1 Republican signature) or plays cry-baby when the other side won't sign (i.e. any number of issues he blames on Congress). We can see how he swears and talks condescendingly to people who are much smarter than he is when they don't agree with him (look at the debates and look at Biden – no wonder nothing gets done in Washington with this listless fools). Also, where is O's plan? Oh yeah, it came out this week – widely panned by every media outlet as a re-hash of the last 4 years in a glossy covered pamphlet.

Next, job creation. Almost no company starts out to create jobs – jobs are a byproduct of enterprise. If you start a lemonade stand and there are cars backed up for 9 streets, you hire your friend to help you so you can increase the profit you are making. You did not sell lemonade to make jobs but money for yourself. As you are successful, you create jobs. That is EXACTLY what Romney did, what Steve Jobs did, what McDonalds has done, etc, etc.

Lastly, job creation in MA. Do you know what the accepted "0% unemployment rate" is? MA was just about there. So who were the created jobs to go to? I know it is a simple thinking exercise, but you seriously lack it in any of your comments.
