Unannounced Obama ad continues abortion criticism of Romney

(CNN) - A new TV ad from President Barack Obama's campaign highlights multiple instances where Mitt Romney has expressed his support for overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion.

Both campaigns have produced ads in the past two weeks sparring over Romney's position on abortion and Planned Parenthood, with Obama's spots highlighting Romney's anti-abortion positions.

"Which do you believe: what Mitt Romney's TV ads say about women, or what Romney himself says?" the narrator asks in the latest ad.

What follows is a series of clips of Romney saying he supports a "reverse of Roe v. Wade," which affirmed a woman's right to have an abortion. In another clip, he says, "I will cut off funding to Planned Parenthood."

Romney's spot responding to the Obama campaign's previous abortion ads shows a woman explaining the GOP presidential nominee's position.

"You know those ads saying Mitt Romney would ban all abortions and contraception seemed a bit extreme, so I looked into it," she says. "Turns out Romney doesn't oppose contraception at all. In fact he thinks abortion should be an option in cases of rape, incest, or to save a mother's life."

The narrator in Obama's latest spot says, "No matter what Mitt Romney's ads say, we know what he'll do."

The Obama campaign did not announce this spot, as the campaigns typically do, but the Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's ad tracking consultant, said it aired in several Florida and Virginia markets. The recent volley of abortion ads has been focused in Virginia, according to CMAG data. Video of the latest spot was uploaded to Obama's YouTube page on Thursday.

Indeed. We know exactly what he'll do: rubber stamp every single piece of GOPer/Teatroll domestic social policy agenda the GOP-controlled House can manage to generate and then attach to budgetary items so they can attempt to use Reconciliation to pass it in the Senate.

Well, we've learned that the "technologically savvy" FOLKS over there at Obama for America don't know how to use "smart punctuation" in their graphics. Also, when torn between an em dash or an ellipsis, just use nothing and capitalize the next letter.

It is clear that Obama has nothing positive to say about the past 4 years or his plans for the next 4 years!
He is simply stuck in the mud and continues to throw it because he has nothing else to talk about.

Regardless of how you feel about abortion be very worried about what Romney will do to health care in general. Fewer people covered, higher costs, less life saving preventative care. Romney said on 60 Minutes that emergency rooms provide adquate care. He never mentioned how an emergency room would treat cancer.

Anything to distract from the dismal economy and Benghazi. Obama has sunk so low by hiring Gloria Allred to dig up dirt on Romney.

I am always amazed how people often vote against their own interests. Mitt R. and Paul R. have shown no sign of supporting women's issues, minority issues, youth issues, elder issues, or the issues of the poor. Yet, the poorest states, primarily in the South, the Southwest and in the Appalachian region remain solidly behind these men.

As a Christian woman and mother of a son, I am totally concerned about the prospect of a new war and the prospects of the legislative assault to women's health and rights. Voters' rights have been ripped by the Republicans. In addition, I am insulted that the Mitt R. refuses to openly share his tax records, as he promotes business tactics that decimate our American workforce and undermine union workers. I find little in the way of a Christian attitude with Mitt or Paul. They both are fake and manipulative.

I don't trust Willard as far as I can throw him. He's taken so many positions, I don't know which one he'll pursue. And that should trouble everyone badly.

This is THE question regarding Mittens: Who do you believe: Romney or Romney? He has so many opinions on everything, it's hard to keep them all straight!

Obama/Biden and a straight Democratic ticket = The only sane choice

  15. Fred Won't Be Fooled By Romney

I don't know that we know anything about what Romney will or won't do except cut taxes on the rich to nothing and kill Big Bird. Those are the only specifics he has bothered to tell us common folk. He has no "closely held moral values" except maybe greed. He swings on issues faster than a weather vane in a hurricane. You can't trust him any farther than you could throw him. And his VP Ryan is on the road preaching how wonderful Ayn Rand was and how he wants to pull the rug out from under the less fortunate and put all those lazy bums to work. Maybe he will harvest their organs? Who knows?

Romney is an opportunist who will do and say anything to get into the White House. If he were ever to get elected who knows what he'd say or do.
It would be impossible for him to keep all the many conflicting promises he has made to get votes. At some point in his life the "fiercely conservative" Mitt will have to do battle with “moderate” Mitt. And for that reason he is the worst candidate ever – which would certainly lead to him taking the “Worst President Ever” identity away from Dubya.

I just think it's lovely that the Republican radical seem to think a 13 year old, that possibly gets raped by her brother, father or uncle, should be forced to bear that child. Or raped by anyone, for that matter. The way the laws are set up now, if someone is raped and has the child, the father has rights to visit this child and can fight for custody if he really wanted to. That puts the rapist right back into the mothers life forever. She should not have to pay for his crime forever.

Obama worked very hard to bring this country out of trouble...the second term should be credited to him.
What do you expect of Mitt if all the old timer advisers of Bush are back in his camp...we will go back again.
America wake up and don't make again and again such a mistake! We voted Bush twice knowing very well he was not helpful
look where he brought the country....Who wants to go backward!

As a woman I am SHOCKED that anyone would even consider a party that wants to tell me what I should or shouldn't do with my body. I am scared out of my mind that these liberals will take up back over 50 years in the way we should handle our own bodies. COME ON WOMEN. WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING? The only good thing about the Rebulicans is that IF they over turn the abortion law and if they take away our right for personal care than I will use my right to purchase a gun and use it if anyone I know gets raped and an ACT OF GOD CREATES A BABY with the low life criminal. If they want to see what women can do push us to that point!
