New York (CNNMoney) – U.S. economic growth picked up in the third quarter, boosted by stronger consumer spending, an improving housing sector and increased defense spending.
Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of the nation's economic health, grew at an annual rate of 2% from July to September, the Commerce Department said Friday, faster than the 1.3% in the second quarter.

These are very good news. When the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is picking up why should anyone think of changing leaders. Does it really make any sense to forget everything done so far and think to start afresh?? What a big test this time 2012 election is placed to American people to use their capacity of thinking.

Just goes to show you that Pres. Obama's policies Are working and we are moving forward.. Despite republican opposition Pres Obama continues to get it done.. Definitely 4 more yrs..
GDP is all the way up to 2%. Wow!. There will never be another bad day? Hang on America, help is on the way and BO has got to go.
That "pickup" has many firms looking at layoffs, and cut backs. So, someone is NOT telling the truth, here.
if romney elected it will be bush all over
again
Too little to late. 12 days shy of the election and a "pick up" is not change. "I will cut the deficit in half by my 3rd year in office. And if I don't, well then this will be a 1 term bid."
Since the GDP grew Romney will say, "this has nothing to do with Obama's policies". If the GDP decreased Romney would be saying, "this is proof the presidents policies aren't working". Either way Romney would be misleading the American people, as usual.
Good news for our country.
Would rather stay consistent with Pres. Obama in the right direction, than inconsistent Romney who flip-flops too much, never knowing where he stands.
Obama/Biden 2012–positive, steady leadership
What a failed policy on the economy (sarcasm). Folks need to wake up and realize recovery does not go away magically and especially when the opposing party is betting against the recovery to get votes.
We have to see the big picture – Willard & Co. is a 'Stong Sell' and Barack & Co. is a 'STRONG BUY'. Invest in your future. Fight to have your elected officials focus on you and not the party mandate.
Oh no... here comes the republican spin... How do you argue that the U.S. is doing worse under Obama when leading independent resources say the opposite? and they say that each month, it grows a little more? You really want to reverse that? Vote for Romney then.
Yes we can move Forward. Beyond the worst Recession in history.
This is excellent news!! For Romney!!!
clearly this is the right direction, slowly but surely, housing in our area up by 12%, dow up, my 401 is way better then it has been iin months, this IS A GOOD SIGN.................moving FORWARD as she goes
O/B 2012..........................Y start over now, it will take another 4 yrs of re-doing everything if r&r gets in the WH back to square 1 with r/r–no time for that just keep moving FORWARD
It was great reading the piece about the interview the Iowa paper did with the president. The interviewer was told to go public with it and he told the president why he didn't do this months ago because the interview was so inspiring he saw a side of the president he'd wish everyone could of seen with his vision, patriotism and outright concern for all americans in this great country. He said it was heart felt and he'd be happy to publish it publicly for the president after the interview..Read it and wept republicans, your racist ways will be your eventual demise,I seen hate from the likes of you before and it does come back to hurt you, remember karma ,what comes around goes around and its fact just wait and see!!
This is wonderful news! I bet Republicans will say this is despite President Obama. On the other hand, if the news had been opposite, the Republicans would be saying see, see, see. Things are turning around for us folks. It is simply illogical to think that the morass we were in can be fixed in four years, especially with no cooperation from Congress. The President has earned and deserves a second term. Willard will put us behind once again. And think about the Supreme Court. The thought of him appointing someone like Alita, Scalia, or Thomas just chills me to the bone. Netanyahu might feel more empowered to strike Iran because Willard is President and we will be forced to aid Israel. And Willard has surrogates like the Hair and Sununuu. He will have warmongers like John Bolton and Dan Senor in his administration. That says something about his judgment, or lack thereof. The middle class will suffer under Romney/Ryan. The man is a shape shifter. It is astonishing to me that people would trust anything he says because he will either flip-flop or it will be "clarified" two minutes later. And the mere fact that he cannot say one way or the other whether he supports equal pay for women – it really is not that hard. He has yet to disavow any of the crazy right-wingers in his party. He just keeps that silly, goofy, creepy grin on his face. His flip-flopping has been issue for him for 18 years. That is quite telling.
FORWARD – OBAMA/BIDEN/FIRST LADY MICHELLE 2012!!!!
Unwelcome news for the "Bad News Boys" of the GOP. I guess that they can always say improvement is not fast enough from the near death blow they dealt to the economy in 2000 through 2008. Some of the simpletons will buy it, but enough Americans have enough commopn sense to send them packing.
Here's a tip: Our president is doing a really great job and our economy is moving in the right direction...
we should keep him and STAY THE COURSE. Things are getting better and better!
If it's too slow for you, realize that a fast growth will lead to greed, recklessness and collapse. It's good to build things the correct, careful and lasting way. We're building to last.
GDP improving, HOUSING improving, JOBS improving, EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK, OSAMA BIN LADEN GONE, AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE, GM roaring back, an Intelligent President with a PLAN FOR THE FUTURE. THE BEST CHOICE: PRESIDENT OBAMA.
Ha I am sure the Rebubs will spin this in a negative way. The just don't want to see the economy do well.
And yes obama said we have to broaden the base, weall know we are going to have to sacrifice, key word, all. his plans are much more secure, stable way to work on issues, which requires you to hhold the same side of an issue for more than a week. mitt has no core, or clue, not a wise choice. collin powell said it best, from the man who could have been the first black pres. under republicans, who he now disagrees with. a very wise man. thats a ringing endorsement
"U.S. economic growth picked up in the third quarter, boosted by stronger consumer spending, an improving housing sector and increased defense spending."
The in direct conflict with what the Teatrolls are saying is wrong with Obama's policies -including him cutting Defense spending. Ecomony seems to be purring along better in spite of all the anti-POTUS rhetoric from the right.
And gas prices in my neighborhood are down $0.50 a gallon over the last few weeks.
Don't worry folks about things really getting better in America. The GOP will have their talking heads out this morning with some conspiracy, or theory about how this just can't be. they rely on negative attacks and lies to scare people into voting for them. They are the party of delusion, so why not expect them to add some more crazy to their fire?
That is just a great news. I hope the job opportunities will grow with it as well. We are really going to the right way forward.
Good news for President Obama!!! This should tell you that he is doing a good job. Make sure you vote Obama so that it can continue to improve
