Ames, Iowa (CNN) – The owner of an Iowa construction company where Mitt Romney will deliver a speech on the economy received stimulus funds, according to the government's web site that tracks expenditures from the federal program.
Kevin Kinzler, owner of Kinzler Construction Services, received a $1.25 million dollar loan from the Small Business Administration through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in May of 2009, shortly after the stimulus plan was signed into law by President Obama.

The Recovery.Gov web site describes the loan as being designed "to aid small businesses which are unable to obtain financing in the private credit marketplace."
In addition to the small business loan, Kinzler Construction Services also received nearly $650,000 in stimulus funds through grants provided by the Department of Energy. The grants were first reported by the left leaning blog, Think Progress.
Romney has made the plight of small businesses a key line of attack on Obama in the final weeks of his campaign.
"I want to make sure that we champion small business, we help small business grow and thrive," Romney said on Thursday in Cincinnati before embarking on a bus tour across the battleground state of Ohio.
The GOP nominee has also repeatedly labeled the stimulus program a failure and accused the president of basing his second term agenda around passing another round of Recovery-type funds.
"The president has the same old answers as in the past – he wants another stimulus, he wants more government workers, and he wants to raise taxes," Romney said at one Ohio stop.
In excerpts of Friday's speech on the economy in Ames released by his campaign aides, Romney is again expected to tweak the president's program.
"A new stimulus, three years after the recession officially ended, may spare government, but it will not stimulate the private sector any better than did the stimulus of four years ago," says one speech excerpt.
Eric Fehrnstrom, a senior campaign adviser, says Romney's speech will lay out why this is a "change" election.
"This election is about big things: education of our children, choices in our healthcare, whether we have jobs, the strength of our military, our dependence on foreign oil and America's place in the world," Fehrnstrom said.
"There are big choices facing the American electorate as they think about the election. Do they want real change or not?"
Hey Kevin, did you build that... by yourself? Or did the rest of us kick in to help you succeed? I'm glad you did, but I hope your memory isn't so short.
Four and The Door
Okay Calling President Obama a "Failed Experiment" ... Ask Osama Bin Liden if he's a failed experiment... anytime an individual has a stroke they have to be rehabilitated and that's what happened to the Country, W. recked the economy destroyed lives fighting a war that was a lie killed the Housing Market and sent this country into the ditch and because the President didnt get the U.S. out of this mess especially having to deal with the Obstructionist Bigots in the congress, he's a failed experiment. Well Ask the Auto Industry, ask those that now have health insurence, Ask the Housing market Ask military families...
Romney is also running with Paul Ryan, who asked for stimulus funds. This is Romney's campaign in a nutshell. It is a campaign of contradiction. Romney claims that he wants to cut the deficit, but everything he has proposed– cutting taxes 20% across the board, repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax, eliminating the estate tax, and increasing military spending– does the opposite.
Yep, Romney believes in change. He's changed his positions 342 times since the primaries began.
Obama's method, of throwing money at a problem, has been dismal, in improving this economy. It takes more than money, to solve these problems.
The owner of the company let Mitt speak there, knowing full well it would be a reminder to his employees of who to NOT vote for. Mitt would have let the company fold.
This is not a problem. Ryan himself asked and got stimulus funds, not once but TWICE. It's only bad when the money goes to the other guy.
America, why are you still voting for Romney? I'm mystified!
Haha, not a good choice of place to do the speech. I bet it will get more attention that this location got stimulus, than the speech itself. How ironic, talking about what he will do different (Romney was supposedly against Stimulus) in the place that may just be open BECAUSE of the stimulus.
It's just another glaring example of GOP schizophrenia. If this guy gets stimulus money that allows his company to flourish, in his mind it's just because it's his rightful due. But if somebody else gets stimulus funds it's because they are being pandered to. Everything that these guys claim to believe in is quickly forgotten whenever self-interest is involved and that's true whether it be about stimulus funds or about an abortion for a family member who has been raped.
I hope the employees boo Romney right out of town!
He ain't too bright, is he???
I think Romney wants Obama to win! (When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, has got to be the truth.)
I'm flabbergasted! How is it possible that this election is still tied! Mr. Romney's campaign is so phoney and clearly funded by the people that put us in this crisis! Are my fellow Americans so blind?
OK, Romney, this is your monring view, we are waiting for your afternoon, evening views. Yawn!
By going here for his "Big Speech," Romney just caste his vote for President Obama! The Modern-day Tea Party is going to be PO'd (It's a family show).
16 Trillion in debt. Six Trillion added to the debt in the last four years. How much will it be Four years from now – 22 Trillion? Now is the time I hope we get a change and that doesn't mean give Obama a second term.
More follies from Willard; You did build it (with help from the US Govt. of course). Please proceed, governor....
CanadaONE: does Romney wear a diaper? – we walks kind of funny
I've noticed this myself. He has a shuffling gait. This is a sign that is seen in early Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
If it's not dementia, maybe it's his magic underwear Mormon cult temple undergarments.
Mitt supports Mourdock.
how can any women, father of a daughter, husband, son, brother, friend of a women even think of voting for Mitt and the GOP platform of madness?
To paraphrase W, you either with them or your against them.
clearly Mitt is with insanity and you have to decide if you are too.
I don't want change. I'm in favor of our recovering economy.
Romney's economic speech is like his campaign: big on words, small (or next to nothing) on specifics or details.
Hmmm.....Mitt Romney needs to get his stories straight. The poor farmer story about the guy who has a lower paying job changes from speech to speech. The other day the farmer was making $9 an hour....today $8 in his speech. The Romney that you saw talking to the FAT CATS about the 47% of Americans is the real guy......the rest of this political "talk" is total horse crap.
362 people at major speech on economy. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haha ha
Nowhere near the 90,000 Obama gets. ha ha ha ha haha haha ha
No plans, no details, just another stump speech with 362 people in attendance - and he was using (gasp) teleprompters.
What a joke.
How about tweaking your lies to the truth. Oops!, no can do. The Devil(s) Rob-Me/Lyin Ryan/Resmug-Pugs has no truth in him, them; nor will he-they ever. Satan comes to Kill, Steal & Destroy.
