President Obama to wrap up election campaigning in Iowa

Washington (CNN) - President Obama will wrap up his re-election campaign Monday with a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, his campaign announced Thursday. Early Monday, Obama will be stumping in Wisconsin and Ohio before heading to Iowa. The Monday stops will cap a weekend of cross-country campaigning.

Iowa was crucial to the president's 2008 victory – both his win in the state's caucuses that helped propel him to the Democratic nomination, and he captured the state in the general election with a 54%-44% victory over John McCain.

He has visited the state at least 11 times this year.

While the state only has six electoral votes, they could be key depending on how some of the larger states break.

Obama was at 50% among likely Iowa voters, and Romney at 44%, according to a NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released Thursday. That's slightly tighter than earlier in October, though the result was just outside the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points. A poll released Wednesday indicated a much tighter race in the Hawkeye State – the University of Iowa survey had Obama at 42.7% and Romney at 41%.

Mitt Romney will be ending his campaign Monday with an event in Manchester, New Hampshire – another small state whose four electoral votes could be pivotal. Romney, who has visited Iowa at least 14 times this year, will be stopping in Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday as part of his last weekend campaign blitz. Republicans think Romney's campaign was got a boost from the endorsement of the state's largest newspaper, the Des Moines Register, last weekend.

As far as benghazi goes, heres logical thinking, i live near detroit, when i go there i know im enTering a dangerous and uncontrolable enviorment, im sorry the 4 men died, but they would be the first to tell you they knew the risks involved, that is the same for every cop, firefighter in the country. you can beat that drum til your ears bleed, you have no idea the complexities of that type of work, look how old hillary looks, that is the truth, your candidate did not have the chops for serving his country, noow that he can coach from luxury he's all in. a truly clueless man, very dangerous as well

truly incredible..... So our American diplomats are on their own and expect to receive no help or protection from Obama and Hillary Clinton. Even after they begged and pleaded for additional protection, after several attacks on us and others in the area, and while the attack was occurring, no help came. The only help that came was from those that violated direct orders to NOT go to help. And those people died trying to help their fellow Americans. They deserve the Medal of Honor.

The Secretary of Sate and several of her minions need to be FIRED for incompetence and Obama needs to LET THE FACTS OUT and STOP THE COVER UP! This incompetent clown needs to go next week because if he gets re-elected and all the facts of this situation get disclosed AFTER the election, there will be calls for his impeachment.

WAKE UP AMERICA. Obama and the LSM are playing you for idiots.

Judging by Mr. Obama's actions (not rhetoric), we can assume that Sandy wasn't that bad a storm after all, right?

The stupidity of this country never ceases to astound me. Bush spent 8 years putting us into one of the worst recessions since the great depression and people are all up in arms because Obama didn’t create a surplus and have the economy booming again in only 4 years. Now people want to put the economy back into the hands of the people that screwed it up. America is a country of “I want it and it better be done now and I am not waiting!!!” No President, democrat or republican, could have turned this entire economy around in just 4 short years. And let us not forget that the unemployment that was caused by Bush didn’t cap out until early 2010 when it was at 10.3%. AND we have had a republican congress that made it goal #1 to stall progress and job growth to make the president look bad. They have been holding American growth hostage for political gain. Even with all this Obama managed to add jobs to the economy every month for more than two years, reform healthcare, Osama Bin Laden was caught under his watch, and less troops are in the middle east. You conservatives need to get your heads out of you’re a**es!!! And for those of you who are so disappointed in our President, WAKE UP!!!!!! Mitt Romney is going to put you back at square one and sell this government to big corporations.

It was great to see our POTUS put his arm around Christie and offer all the help available to NJ. Last night I watched HANNITY out of curiosity to see if this visit would be mentioned. SURPRISE SURPRISE this visit was NEVER MENTIONED even once. All they talked about was Benghazi blah blah blah. Made me sick to my stomach watching these bigots. If Romney were President and wiped out FEMA like he said he would do, who would have helped these folks in the N.E. ?

When some one orders others to do something that causes the death of others he is responsible. I believe if it is innocent people we call it murder, even in war. How can anyone be so insensitive as to vote for someone who shrugs off responsibility for lives of people and doesn't take care of their own.? Who's next to get sacrificed?

Mr. Obama is praised now for his response for the storm tragedy. What is exactly has he done? He offered taxpayer money as storm relief funds to NJ and other states. It is his job to sign some papers. And if he didn't use our money for incompetent projects, maybe he would have more to offer. What about a president who can bring more prosperity to this country? There are no more money, so another Obama presidency will not even have what to redistribute!

The press is giving Obama and the Dems a pass on the murder of our ambassador. Shameful to say the least, reaking of cowardice and clearly an assist to the administrations cover up. He should not be reelected and probably impeached.

Lets face some facts here about the Nov. 6th vote, yes some people will vote for President Obama because he is black, but the same is true why some are not voting for him because he is black. So I think that’s a balance now to some of the facts, he has done some of the things that he said he was going to do when he got into office. More could have been done if he had the backing of rebublicans that said their job was to not get him another 4 years. That’s a shame to not support America and give the man what he needs just because of his race.
As far as Gov. Mitt Romney, remember when he was running the big issues was he is a Mormon, but now that there is an educated person running against him and they don’t see a chance of winning they are not going to bring up the Mormon faith. If you look back into the history of the Mormon faith President Obama could have a great case to shut Romney down, the fact that the Mormons still believe that if your not white you will not make it into heaven, they still secretly believe in polygamy among other things. I wish that our president and his campaign would remind the American people of simple this I think it would change things. However you would have some people saying that religion should not be brought into it. All I’m saying is religion or not his core belief is the same as the Mormons and I would not want him running the country.

Obama's final strategy revealed, should say, "Finally, Obama's strategy revealed". and just what is it that he has revealed...basically nothing more than what he said during the debates, which was essentiallhy, nothing.
People, get your heads out of the area where the sun doesn't shine and vote for real change, since we haven't had anything but change in our pockets for the last four years.

Bengazhi, schmengazi....who cares? This election is about the next 4 years of leadership of this country on matters both foreign and domestic. There is no doubt that Mr. Obama wins hands down on foreign policy matters, Romney has proven himself to by a schmuck in this area. On domestic matters, things would be a whole lot better if the House of Representatives attempted to cooperate with the president on his various proposals to improve domestic life and the economy. As for Mr. Romney, anyone who lies 500+ times during one presidential campaign, has something very wrong with his mental faculties. Enough said.

I am so proud of the things that have been accomplished for our country under the leadership of our president, he took on a mess that had been building for quite some time , prevented a bad situation from getting worse . I know that he deserve to finish the awesome job he's started
I really find it difficult to to believe that someone that does not respect the seat of presidency could actually
Run for it. Mr Romney and his son has only disrespected our president and his hard work . When you show disrespect for one of the highest office in our country , how can I trust you.

Been there with the tax cuts: did not work in creating consumer demand or in creating jobs. All it did was shift more capital out of the country, along with jobs. Oil prices are controlled by an international commodities market, not the president, and domestic oil production is actually up over what it was 4 years ago. Oil prices are sset by speculators, not by the normal laws of supply and demand. Voting for Romney will ensure that we become little more than a society of Wal-Mart greeters unless you are of Romney's class. Romney does not care in the least about you after you cast your vote for him.

    Great comment!!! Go Obama!!! 2012

    Well let us hope that they realize there that this President has hurt our nation in jobs, in debt and in higher taxes on buisness that cant hire more people because of it. As well as his attempt to put coal industry out of buisness and stopping oil drilling in the Oceans and in Alaska and in the Gulf of Mexico and has hurt the fishing industry and many others through his E.P.A regulations and wants even more taxes through his govornment health care and more with the U.N. treaties he wants to sign our nation on too. As regulating our guns , the internet, the tax on oil rigs. and even control special needs children. He needs prayed and voted out of office. Sincerely ;

Here in Iowa it is obvious that BOTH parties prefer illegal immigrants over Americans. During a time of record unemployment. Washington Times just reported that 2 of 3 jobs went to immigrants instead of Americans. But NEITHER party offered us a candidate who would send illegals home so Americans can go back to work. We are denied change through the ballot, sadly change through the bullet will happen instead. This is why many whites are joining NSM for self defense. Fighting in LA and Chicago will spread and whites will soon be fighting for their lives., it isn't about hate, it's about survival.
